5th gear is in the opposite direction... I'm floored that you not only though that reverse was 5th, but you attempted to jam it in a few times.

yeah i thought the 5th gear was the reverse one frown.gif huge mistake i know, it has an after market shift knob so it doesnt show the gears on top of the shift knob like the stock one, and im a huge noob with manuals on top of that frown.gif

Car - Toyota Celica 1997 ST. 7AFE.

I was driving at about 60 - 70 mph. I accidentaly shifted in to reverse while driving like 3 times while trying to change to 5th gear. Each shift lasted like 3 to 4 seconds in reverse at those speeds. frown.gif I know I messed up. Did I damage the transmission? frown.gif

did the tune up 5 months ago but only put like 10 miles on it during all this time lol.. wat i didnt change is the spark plug wires i did change the spark plugs but am changing those too regardless. The mechanic said he was going to check the pressure on the cylinders etc something like that and some other stuff. Hopefully its not a big issue frown.gif

Hey guys I took my 97 celica st 7AFE to the smog check station and everything was good but they they detected the #rd cylinder misfiring, and enigne check is on. I left it yesterday at the mechanic, bought spark plugs, spark plug wires, did a full tune up. Is this really bad?

hey guys, i was planning on buying a new car but i love my celica way to much, so instead of buying a new car i am going to get a loan from my bank and do a complete swap on it, i have a 1997 celica st coupe, its not the hatch version, its the trunk model, it has the 7afe engine, wat is the easiest engine to swap in and less difficult

Hey everyone, what mods can I get for this engine? I currently owned a 1997 celica st coupe, i already bought some denzo rims and weapon r intake for it.

Are there any headers for this engine that will pass california emissions? if so, please link me to some.

I know its not worth modding parts on this engine but i love it, and plus its just all in fun.

nology spark plugs look beasty, i might get those, any other suggestions as to what other parts to get?

QUOTE (garin @ Mar 31, 2009 - 8:11 PM) *
well start there. there one set of fuses under the driver's side vent. the gauge fuse is a ten amp. there is also a set of fuses in the engine bay, i forget if any of them have to do with the cluster. i would check at the fuse with the multi meter. start there and then begin to eliminate the possibilities. it sounds like it is a problem with the speedometer and tach though. do the lights and turn signal indicates work?

yeah all the turn signals and lights work perfectly, could the computer be failing? i hope not :[ .. i was pulling the sensor that goes in the intake cuz it was stuck but idk if that caused the problem

Hey guys my Gauges stoped working. Only the gas gauage seems to work fine and read fine. The others are just plain dead. I was thinking the fuses are blown or a cable was damage. What do I do to fix this?
