i just did away with the whole egr system welded it up and now i don't have hot @$$ exaust gas going to my intake. i see the system as a dog throwing up and then eating it but for the states with emission test i can see leaving it on but if you don't live in one of those cheaper to remove the system and get a resister to take care of the m.i.l light on and i see it as a peformance mod less tem. in the intake and not having to reburn all that trash.

i work for a toyota delership and most of the time when the light flashes the car is out of freon i know it sounds stupid. but check it there is a site glass on the dyer it is located behind the drivers side high beam follow the lines make sure the car is running and watch for bubbles if they apear it is low. if thats not it replace the magnetic clutch relay in the fuse box with one from the junk yard like 5 dollars and see what happens. also if it is out check the condensor for oil spots.

hmm i think there is a thread on that Ill look for it, but it wasn't fully answered. It was for ronan's 3sge beams.

Why would you want a catch can on a 7afe engine. Oil catch cans are mainly meant for turbo engine's or if you are doing a 3SGE or 3SGTE engine swap and want to keep your engine running really clean. But an economic 7afe is not worth putting an oil catch can.

well i got it hooked up and i beg to differ i emtied it the other day and there was an inch and a half of gas enriched oil and carbon. so it is a good thing i put it on so i think it should be used in n/a cars as well as turbo cars if not to keep the intake manifold clean of all that nasty stuff. and i tear my manifold down every 2 months to gas dip it to clean it and this well really help it stay clean and u get good performance and longevity out of clean motor parts. so yea i think its worth it. oh by the way put it in line of the PCV system if any one needs to know.

okay got an oil catch can and i dont know where to hook it up. right now it is hooked up between the PCV and the intake manifold. but there is that other line that goes from the valve cover to the intake manifold right beside it and i dont know if it should be there? and yes i have already searched the fourms lol and no answers. thanks.

hey guys i got a question or two i have a vemon 400 and it seems like it hasnt been working sense i bought it and ive been scrathing my head and i thought about it and i remember when i first got the car i replaced the MAP senser with one out of a gt with a 5sfe in it( i know its stupid i thought it would make it run faster!)lol. and the vemon runs through the map sensor and do yall think that has any thing to do with it? and number 2 will one out of a 7afe corolla do the same thing as the oem one i took of of it? and is this GT MAP sensor making my car run badly because i know now that it sends a different air fuel map to the ecu and i was thinking that isnt a good thing consendering i have a 1.8 and not a 2.2...... dont give me to much hell i was new at this when i sarted. thank yall.

i was planing on turboing my celica and i had a few questions before i do so.

1. has any one put a tubo on an automatic trans and can it handle it?
2. which is better duel or single bov?
3. what kind or brand of engine management should i use?
4. how much boost can the stock internals hold?

oh yes it is definately a keeper. I even grew since i last drove the car (Im 18, and drove it as a practice car when i was 15 for drivers ed), so thats another reason to keep it. I'm going to have the engine rebuilt and then fix the interior. then ill add go-fast parts, lol. thats as far ahead as ive thought.

go fast parts do i hear double date junk yard day? lol i might have some left over go fast parts and side skirts.

thanks guys for the input alot of things i would have never thought of, if you have more thoughts feel free to post. im going to try this if i can find a dyno in my area, will be a couple of months. this might be a waste of time but as far as i know there is no such thing as a waste of time when your tryin some thing new. so keep posting so i can work the kinks out of it. so far the biggest problem is it getting stole! and spining the spool.

remote mount turbos have been around for a couple of years. This is more common on corvettes and the like.
you could do it but it would just cost more money in materials to be honest.

really? i guess in just hearing about it, has any one on here done it before? if i do it i promise to have 1/4 mile tickets and dyno charts

QUOTE (bslik @ Jan 4, 2009 - 2:16 AM) *
i like the idea and have wondered about it on celicas but seeing that pic of the turbos hanging out under the rear bumper makes me a little scared about theft problems.
it says it can convert back to stock in an hour... therefor park your car at the movie theater, watch your movie and your naturally asperated in about 30 minutes! kindasad.gif

never thought about that, that would suck man i guess you would have to work up some thing like skid plates or something to hide it

I like the original thinking. I am not convinced it would be more practical then connecting the turbo to the header but I would love to see one on a 6gc.

CHeck it http://pi.b5z.net/i/u/1473169/f/Press/stshcis.pdf Integra

trust me i like the original idea to i just cant afford it and i drive my car everyday and this something u can do off the car and still be able to drive it. god i sound like im tring to sell it lol!

Whats with all these automatic ST guys trying to go as fast as possible all of a sudden.
The problem is that you guys have 90hp under the hood going through an automatic trans. Stop putting your life in danger by trying to floor your car for 10 miles, just for some bs bragging rights. Grow up... really.

some times its not for braging wrights its for info, st gt it dont matter man i like to drag at the track and one day i hope my auto st is got enough power that i might need to go faster than 105 on the 1/4 mile

QUOTE (caszboy @ Jan 3, 2009 - 8:26 PM) *
here is a pic on a corvette

Its not a bad idea as far as some cars go, but from what i have seen it not efficient and cost $$$. I knew a guy who had one on his camaro and he got like 40ish hp out of it or something like that but paid a little over $2000 for the setup. Not very good as far as 'bang for your buck'. I have never seen it on a 4 cylinder before but i would guess the numbers would be worse??? just my .02

well i wasnt going to spend 2,000 i was thinking about custom building one after doing some reseach on a turbo thinking maybe a mercedes deisel turbo out of the junk yard and use the stock down pipe and westgate and machining a flange on to the stock ex. pipe and find my injector size from info from the mercedes dealership on the stock injectors output. that way i can maybe try this for under $200 i know it sounds crazy i even think so but if this work out i will be cheap power even if its 40ish.

hey yall i dont know if any one has posted it or not (if they have feel free to hit me up with the normal check the old fourms lol) but i saw this new way of instwlling a turbo. what they do is put the turbo at the tail pipe at the back of the car. u bolt the hot side to the tail pipe with a flange and then run your down pipe directly to the muffler. and on the compressure side u run your piping from the turbo to the throttle body. dont know if you can do the intercooler because the pipe will be so long? only thing is im sure you will have alot of turbo lag. and you run the oil lines like u would with the normal setup (just will need alot of line) and i thought this would be great for people like me with a ST because turbo manifolds are so hard to find. when i come across the money im going to try it but if u have the bank to do it before me let me know how it turns out! it just something i thought would help turn the celica into a hellica biggrin.gif
