Hey everyone,

I recently moved to Japan for work which means I pretty much have nothing here. I have a couple things that can keep me sane while living here, but being able to get out in a car and just go somewhere would be amazing. I would LOVE the chance for to ride/drive a 6gc gt4. BUT it doesn't have to be. I am just looking for people to meet up with. I know there is a decent car scene here in Niigata, but where it is, I don't know. I just see a ton of sports cars around here.

anyway please message me here or in private.

Thanks
Soul

Hey everyone,

so in the past... I want to say year, I have gone through '4' master cylinders. the first one was the original(from 97), and I replaced it because it felt like it had a really short throw and was leaking. I replaced it with a cheapo one thinking I would wait till I could get a legit complete Toyota one. then that one started getting this black residue in the reservoir and then completely went within 6 months. so in the mean time I slapped the old one back in and it felt fine. now during this point I have had put in an E153 with a 3sgte ACT heavy duty Pressure plate and a single plate street clutch. so anyway the original one started to develop the same issue with black gunk show up, though this one being old only lasted a few months and I had to rush and get something quick and that was in town...on a Sunday. This one I don't even think lasted a month before I could feel it start to go and it ALSO started with the black crap in the reservoir. the cheap masters blew through their seals. they were just ripped and missing chunks. so I figured this one the gunk in the reservoir. the original one gracefully lost its seal and you can see the wear around it. at this point I had enough time to plan and order a Toyota rebuild for the original.

I could feel a complete difference from the others and the throw was nice. However, having dealt with all of these clutch problems, I sometimes start feeling things that might not even be there. so today I went and checked the master cylinder to see if there was crap in it. and sure enough there was gunk in it.

now I didn't really know how or if I should have cleaned out clutch lines, but I did try to push all of the old fluid out with a little air pressure and clean dot3.

so my questions are
what are the chances its just crap from the lines?
should I be worried?
am I using the right fluid? (Prestone high temp synthetic DOT3 brake fluid)
is the gunk going to cause problems for the seals in the master?
is my clutch causing me to go through masters?

Thanks I have a feeling that I am just so used to the peddle that I am not really able to feel the clutch catch point in the peddle and I am just making things up.

its crap like this that makes me lose interest in cars. I haven't been to a meet almost all year, and I was going to go wash my car today and wax it to go hang out tonight but seeing this just ruined the whole idea of going out.

again Thanks for the potential help,
Kevin

what MR2? the Turbo mr2 has a carrier bearing and will only work with an E153 transmission. if you have that; the INNER part of the axle will work, but you will have to get different outers and axle spacers.

the 2.2 5Sfe? I have no clue, but my guess is yes carrier bearing, no it will not work for a celica. Shafts should be shorter.

yeah I understand that, I guess what I am saying is if the local DMV says something like "well can you get OBDI codes read?" and if I can say yes that would be one thing. but really I just want to use my car. Its my daily and I wasn't expecting this to happen (again two years ago, heck last year this wasn't a problem). I guess I am going to have to plead for a way around it, though I doubt the state is going to give a crap.

well I have been constantly been told that OBDII can read OBDI ecu's so I just don't understand what is going on. I'm not that car smart and even worse when it comes to electrical stuff (I usually always have someone do that stuff for me).

I mean if there was a way I could just get it able to read that is one thing. even the code pullers wont read anything.

Hey everyone,

So the law changed in my state to where I HAVE to have communication between OBDII and the scanner. but they say they can read an obdi with the same machine. so I was wondering if I could switch to obdI (since the engine is OBDI) and have it tested that way.

any thoughts on this?

as some of you know, I've been going to college for a while studying Japanese and have plans to move there here in the next year. I thought I would share my graduation finale with you guys. It got some national attention being "the biggest and best" this year. since it's Arizona, it gets close to 100 during the day around this time of year so they haven't really held the ceremony in the stadium in 40+ years. but because class sizes are getting to be over 3000 students they can't hold them in the basketball stadium anymore.

UofA Grad Finale

anyway I hope to be heading to Japan for a few years starting around march next year! to tell you the truth though, I am not ready at all haha.

The main problem is the possibility that you are a bot or just some trying to sell something and never contribute to the community. So imho i themnk the admin had every right to 'scold' you. Don't let it get to you, most of us are pretty chill.

Hi,

- on top is the OEM oil catch can, just mount a small filter (the oil dramatically reduces the ROZ of the fuel)

- buttom, is connected to the air box and the TB or in other words thats the line the ISCV uses to get air, further more the turbo VSV and power steering pump bleed the air to it, connect this line to
a line after the air filter

greetz

This guy has it.

You can also just put a small filter on the bottom one as well.

Paypal - Pay the fees for a "payment" so you are protected. Screw being nice with sending it as a "gift"

Sellers should compensate themselves or adjust prices if they want to save a few dollars for the loss of buyer security.

I recently went against my own advice and paid with another method to a different seller, because I was desperate for the part. That won't happen again.

agreed. and this is how I will be doing payments from now on. I hadn't been burned until Novak so I hadn't worried about it.

lesson learned.

Hey,

so I need the left side knuckle pretty badly. Ive gone through about 3 wheel bearings and the mechanic I took it too to try and figure it out couldn't... took it to another and he said who was ever doing the wheel bearings before should have noticed the bearing not sitting correctly because of it being whittled out. he said to get "a whole wheel hub assembly" and from what I can tell, the bearing is pressed on to the hub and into the knuckle, and that it is the knuckle that is the problem (I replaced the wheel hub last time.)

if no one gets back to me in the next day or so I am going to have to find a new one or something.

(local junkyards don't have it)

Also, no longer gifting money on Paypal as a means of payment. if you don't like it sorry but that is how it will be.

Just a Heads up, if you are messaged by him saying he has parts you posted in a WTB thread I highly suggest not talking to him. its been over 3 months and I have not received the part I asked for, nor did I get the money back when I asked and he never replies to any messages.

I come here for help and the chance to buy misc parts that are hard to find or I can find at a better price, I don't need to be ripped off. We've had a few cases before, and this needs to stop.

Soulend bought a six-puck and had a bad experience.

Lies did not buy a six puck.

blew through 3 "rally" clutch kits within a year. one went before I could do anything with the car like racing, as well as when my Dad was using it when I was in Japan for two months. that one lasted 6-ish months, the next lasted maybe 2 months normal daily driving. and the 3rd finished off the year and I just swapped to a different clutch kit all together.

Company has bad manners and are unwilling to help, ignore calls and emails. blamed me for bad installation when I proved to them on each occasion that I had a Certified mechanic IN A SHOP put each in. the mechanic on each occasion said that it wasn't the cars fault but bad clutches.

Smaay can say all he wants about "I've put them in over a 100 cars" but that doesn't stop the fact that company is horrible.

Oddly enough, mine hasn't worked for a few years (including the first couple of cold nights here) then suddenly it started working the other day... not sure what happened. I haven't done anything electrically to the car lately. I'll have to check the connect later on today.

you need a hub, or an axle?

The hub. I had a spare axle and wheel bearing but the car always has to have one up on me...
