For better turnout you might consider posting on celicatech.com, alltrac.net, maybe mr2oc.com. Get together everyone with similar engines and chassis, you can learn a lot from other car guys working with similar components to you. I had put together a list of everyone I could find on all these boards that were in NC and came up with almost 40 screen names. If you could get everyone on that to show it would e a great meet. I started to put one together 2 years ago but interest was low. I had thought to meet at Frankie's in Raleigh, on 70 by Briar creek. Fun stuff to do for everyone and there is autobell in the parking lot where I'll bet you could work out a group discount. Everyone would want their rides looking their best when showing off for everyone. There is a ton of food within a mile as Briar creek has basically anything you could think of. that being said I would love to come but it looks like I will be busy on such short notice. Put together another one later in the summer so people have time to plan. As a group you should also consider attending the Celicatech.com annual meetup that happens at the NC/TN border every year when we run the tail of the dragon as a group. It is in May, less than a month away. there are Celicas from all gens there, from old school all the way to 7th gen, some MR2s show up as well. read this http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthrea...tech-Dragon-Run If someone is genuinely interested in setting up a NC Celica or NC toyota motorsports club that would have some regular meetups/events let me know, I would like to participate in organizing something like that Chris |

Yeah I went to the Dragon meet this year, saw you two 6gc guys there...I think I was the only NC guy with a 5th gen there though I had the red GT-S with a 3SGTE swap and a white alltrac hood. Kind of thought most people would be interested in that event first and foremost. I still want to do a NC meet for Celicas within the next couple of months. I have identified about 20 people on Celicatech, 6GC, and alltrac.net combined if we can get half of those people to show up it might be worth while. still trying to think of exactly where to do this. |

I am starting to plan and organize a meet for NC. If anyone else wants to come thats ok too. I am sending out PMs to people I can identify as being in NC. PM me if you want to be included in the list. If i sent you the pm and you know of someone else interested pass it on. I would like to get everyone's email address since bulk pming is a cumbersome way to communicate. the PM I sent out goes as follows: Hey man, I am trying to put together a NC Celica meet. Aiming for spring when the weather warms up enough for it to be outside. I am sending this to any NC people that I can identify on celicatech.com, allrac.net, and 6gc.net. If you would be inetersted in attending something like this then please give me some feedback like which parts of NC work for you, what times and days etc. Want to get as many participants as possible. Also send me you email address so I can send out emails as a way to communicate. Some aspects of the meet are likely to be: ~ Met for a few hours, long enough to compare notes etc, not so long as to take up your whole day. ~ Meet at a park to cook out, possibly an entertainment complex or location where there is many dining options. ~ Arrange for it to be close to an Autobell or other decent autowash/spa type place and negotiate a group rate. ~ Would like to discuss a parts swap, for sale items, wanted items...etc ~ I can do powder coating for those who are interested, would be a good time to hand off parts. Hi all, I lurk here alot but don't contribute much since all of my celicas are 5th gen I spend most of time at celicatech under the same username. Anyway here are some 4AGE parts if anyone is interested before I send to the recycle yard. I have some misc 4AGE parts that came in a bundle of stuff I acquired. These parts have no use for me and will go to the recycle bin if no one wants them. $15 + shipping for any part you want 4AGE head with valves, no cams. Thread damage to one of the tapped holes for mounting. I cannot comment to any other conditional issues..I simply do not know but will answer any question you have as best I can. 4AGE 20V intake / Individual throttle body ITB fuel rail, looks to be in top shape 4AGE upper timing belt cover I also have what I think are used 4AGE pistons and rods, as well as what I think are new 4AGE piston rods. They are in toyota boxes so I could verify the part # the next time I am at the shop |

I'm confused, Lagos. You said you have a SAFC on your 3S, but you also said you can't put a SAFC on a 3S. I came intot he thread looking for a SAFC II to use with my 3S... There are plenty of things I don't know...is this one of them? |

I've tried local junkyards, auto parts stores, and online. where else can I look to get some ? anyone have some or know where I can get some ? fyi 91-95 MR2 turbo axles, non-lsd is just fine. I have a driver's side, I will happily trade it for a 2nd gen 3SGTE alltrac driver's side front axle if you have one of those laying around... |

Also...replying to your alltrac.net thread in the same way... I have been considering trying to arrange a small meet in the Raleigh area, nothing huge but I think we can have a decent small turnout between celicatech, alltrac.net, 6gc, and maybe even mr2oc. I thought about this quite a bit and I think you are going about this the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, I would love to a see a Carolinas meet, I would most likely attend. But you are looking for a place where you can stash a bunch of people and their cars and hopefully not get harrassed. Can I suggest that you work with some location that wants you be there. I was thinking about trying to talk to one of the local Autobell places and tell them we are having an automeet, tell them about how many people we would bringing to their establishment as paying customers, see if they would offer a discount to people attending the meet. Face it everyone is there to show off their rides, might as well look as good as you can. Make sure you do this at an Autobell near a place where plenty of people can eat a variety of food, maybe even near an entertainment complex or something. Just put somemore thought into it. Make people want to come...make the place that you bring everyone to want them to be there. Another suggestion...make sure your empty parking lot or whatever is good size( on the right track here so far) and suggest people bring parts they have for sale/trade and that people post up before the meet parts they are looking for... There are a ton of easy and fun things you can do that would make a meet successful....Like I said...I am thinking of planning one for this area this summer...PM me if you want to try and cooperate. |

Have you talked to the store manager? I have seen things like that get squashed within a half hour of starting when the management decides that they don't want your group around. Especially since the group as a whole will most likely not be doing a large shopping spree. Great idea though...a Carolinas meet would be a good thing. PS ...left the same reply over at alltrac.net |
