I unhooked a vacuum line on the intake manifold and blew air threw it, and it turns out it was leaking at one of the couplers. I fixed that and now it runs fine.

I have a boost leak on my 93 mr2 turbo, but I can't seem to find it. I just replaced my timing belt and such, and I also installed a new intercooler and piping. All of the couplers are on the piping correctly, and the t-bolt clamps are tight, but it's still leaking under boost. It's extremely loud when I boost, almost sounds like a waterfall. And when I press in on the clutch, it sounds like I have a HKS SSQV, when in reality, I still have the stock blow off valve that dumps back into the intake. It will boost some, but when the turbo builds any amount of pressure, it's really loud. This happened once before when one of my couplers wasn't tightened down, but everything is in place. Any thoughts?

i was wondering how these fit up to the headlights? are they a direct fit and twist in like the bulbs, or what do you have to modify to get these to fit and stay in?

yeah i think im going to leave the resonator on there because i dont want it to sound like a "tin can" like he put it. i was looking at the magnaflow 14832, its not the canister style like i was originally looking at, but after looking at different people's exhaust on here, i decided this style looks better on the celicas, so as soon as i get these sportline springs on and get the front and rear of the car aligned im going to go get one and get the exhaust made...so thanks for all the help

yeah i bought one off of ebay also, they are definitely worth getting, 30 bucks shipped and you're good to go...dont spend like $200 on some injen intake that does the same thing as the 30 dollar one

just use the silicon, when i wrecked my car i replaced the airbags and they are screwed in, but what keeps them down is two plastic tabs that break when the airbags deploy. if you could somehow pry the airbag door up you could put whatever you want in there, as long as you could do it without damaging your dash. after i put my new airbags in i sealed it with silicon because i couldnt get the tabs and they werent really necessary.

i've actually tried the 5th gen turn signals, they seemed to be too small to fit, i wasn't able to mount them due to this, it wouldnt span the length of the hole in the bumper

the guy who got me interested in doing this swap told me that i could use the MR2 transmission even though it is considered RWD....since the engine is in the back...when i put the motor in...its going to be in the front and then it will be FWD...also my brother....the mechanic that is going to do the swap...says i can use that transmission...he told me to get the engine, ecu, and wiring harness...along with the other obvious things i need like a fmic, bov, ebc...etc.....and it will work...i would rather not have to buy the clip even though i can sell the parts....because it would be a little harder for me to get the money to get the clip....being as i am 17.....im still a youngblood....haha......but i can have about $4,000 at the end of the summer to get everything...i shouldnt have too much of a problem getting a little more money to buy everything i need if i need more stuff....the great thing is i dont have to pay to get it swapped because my brother is doing it...so that saves me a bunch right there

I know that a very easy way to swap the 3s is to get an MR2 clip...however...it is a bit more expensive than buying just the engine with the transmission, ecu, and wiring harness.....however i have read that you will be missing parts if you do it like that...since it would be easier for me moneywise to get the engine and etc. i was wondering if anyone has done this and what they would be missing...i know on the stickies the guy that swapped a 3s into his 1997 gave a list of a few things that you would be missing...anyone have anything to say about what he said....or any comments about what i should do?

i was wondering how the gt4 riser blocks mount onto the car, and how the spoiler mounts onto the blocks? i was thinking about getting some carbon fiber ones...but i wasnt sure if it was a lot of trouble to mount them? i thought they might look good with my cf hood and black rims

the only problem is....if u look closely, you can see that the side skirts arent as high as they should be....this is because when the guy was putting them on...he said there was a gap if he put them up all the way...so he had to move them down a little...so there is only 5 inches between the bottom of my side skirt and the ground....so tell me what you think

if you look at the pictures of my car in my profile, the front of the side skirts are kinda low....do you think i could drop it some? like maybe 1" or 1.5"? i just really dont want to tear off my side skirts or my front bumper...but if you look at the car, you can tell it needs to be lowered

That sounds fair to me, too. What you could do is search on autotrader.com or cars.com for Celicas in the Mid-Atlantic region with similar features to yours to get an idea of what to expect. But more importantly, do you have an MR2 in mind? What are you looking to get?

Well, there was a MR2 Turbo that a guy has at where i work. Its a '92 and i think its got about 120k on it...but he said the motor has about 80k on it. The MR2 needs to be painted and the seats are ripped. Plus there is something wrong with the shifter or something. Some bearing type thing down in the shifter broke or something. I was talking to him today and he said he might have to sell his car to pay off some bills. He said he wanted to get $6,000 for it. I was talking to him about a trade or something and he was talking about me giving him my car and like $2,000 for it. According to you people, that would be about right. I think his car has like one dent in it, which im guessing could be fixed if i got it painted. His motor is pretty much just the stock 2.0 turbo. I think all he did was put a racing clutch in it and put a HKS super drager exhaust on it. other than that the car is pretty much stock. The car is pretty fast, and mines not, so thats why im trying to get it, cuz i dont wanna spend the money to get a 3s...cuz motor swaps can be problematic.

So, tell me what you think about it.

I know that you people will hate me for this...but i want to sell my celica so i can get a MR2 Turbo. A guy i work with has one, and that thing is crazy fast, despite the fact that he hasnt really made any upgrades to the engine. In order to get a MR2 i would have to sell my car... so i was wondering...how much do u think i could get for the car? My profile doesnt really tell you much about it...so ill include a few things:

It has just the stock 2.2L and i havent done anything to the engine except put a short ram intake on it. It has about 137k miles...the engine runs really great...i've had it for a year and i have never had a problem. The paint on it is in excellent condition. The interior is in excellent condition. This car is extremely clean...It has one small dent or ding on the rear passengers side that was there when i bought it...you cant even really notice it. The tires have less than 5,000 miles on them... the rims have no curb rash...its got a VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Hood, i put new jdm tails on it...got the windows tinted 35% all the way around(had it done after i took the pictures)...and all i can say is that the car is really clean. The only thing is though...back in December i ran into the back of a van and messed up the hood and bumper(didnt touch the fenders. But it was just enough to deploy the airbags. So i ordered a carbon fiber hood, the body kit, and bought some airbags and the computer for them. i fixed everything and you cant tell that this car ever had anything wrong with it. It didnt do any damage to the engine, although i had to replace the condenser because it was messed up.

So, perhaps somebody can let me know how much they think i can get for the car...i would like to know. I'm not really in a hurry to get rid of it...and I'm still thinking about whether i even want to. I'm gonna think about it for a while before i make a decision and regret selling it.

So, just hit me up with what u think.
