Pressure I hope you don't mind me using your photo but its the best one to give an examply of what I am trying to explain. Take his turbo, with the hot side on the left and cold on the right. Now simply rotate it horizontal 180 degrees. From there the hot side is on the right and cold is on the left. Now I get to looking at it and the pipe from the cold outlet to intercooler now needs a tight bend. But I can clock the cold side 180 degrees from there vertically and just run a s pipe into a 45 and then into the intercooler. Now with doing that I have less piping and I don't have to finagle around my camry's front engine mount. I hope that is easier to understand and not confusing people anymore. I am just trying to find out if it matters which way the exhaust flows into and hot side. If the fins on the wheel are shaped to only grab air and turn one way better than the other, of it it doesn't matter which way the wheel spins. |

Well I don't have pics handy but on 5sfe's that are turbo the hot side is facing the passenger side and the cold in on the driver side. Can I just flip it around and put the hot side towards the driver and the cold towards the passenger? |

Ok so I am curious bout something. I have a camry 5sfe in which I can run the same turbo setup you guys can with the execption of the downpipe. It has to be modified to go around my front engine mount. No big deal, but a pain. So I got to lookin online and noticed that some turbo kits for hondas have the turbo mounted with the exhaust exiting either side. Does it really matter which way the turbo faces? If it doesn't then I can take my spare B-series t3/t4 downpipe and modify it a hell of a lot easier and with less bends then the normal way all 5sfe turbo engine route theirs. Any help? |

QUICK TIP.... for anyone else that wants to install a polished header....if you do not use gloves when installing and then start up, your fingerprints will be burned into the header making it look ugly. If you do not have gloves to use, wipe the header down with rubbing alcohol just before startup...... |

Mine is going to take some time. I am rolling a 92 auto with 225,000 miles on it. My build is going to have to include an engine rebuild with better internals, a tranny swap to manual, and then go all out with the best parts for my turbo setup. I just don't wanna waste the money in the long run. I have already dropped a grand on struts and springs with various other parts just to get it driveable. |
