I already have the Emanage, and im looking to get an ST202 harness for easy installation and removal!

All I want to know is if it is more likely to make a gain than a loss, All I really want to do is to be able to control the curve for a more responsive and smoother transition.

Cheers for the info!

Right, I have a Greddy E manage ready to be fitted to help adjsut the fuelling at 4500rpm as Im getting a dip and I want to smooth the curve out for more of smoother climb.

However I phoned my local dyno tuning company and they suggested that fitting the emanage to my ECU may acutally reduce total BHP because you can't adjust timing on the celica?!? But they can definately do it, and not a bad price for dyno tuning either.

My question is has anyone fitted one to there JDM Gen6 GT before? If so what were the gains if any? My intention is to simply control the curve more but if its going to reduce power then im not so keen!!

I just need as much info as possible!

Cheers, appreciate it! wink.gif

Hey, I hanve't fitted one myself but I have been tempted in the past!! All I've heard that on N/A cars it will just drink fuel and not give you anymore BHP gains! This is only what I've heard though, if someone wants to add to this then feel free!!!

They are reserved really for turbo cars IMO!

Mines a 94 and folds flush - or near enough!!!! I don't know if other years fold differently, I doubt it! Why would they?

Ive got the reinforcement bar from a GT4, the fogs and brackets! Is there some kind of converter bracket that bolts onto the two chassis mounts to convert between a GT and GT4?

See pics attached?

Hi, Ive had a look around but can't seem to find much information on this!! I have just resprayed and installed a new GT4 bumper to my pre facelift 94 GT!

The bumper looks amazing now and gave it a brand new T badge and looks bling!!!

But....During the install I could not work out what to do with the crash bar at the front of the radiator! The old one is too big to allow the GT4 bumper to sit around it and the GT4 one doesn't align with the bolts on the chassis!!! Also the GT4 foglights don't fit with the GT crash bar and vice versus...so basically im fudged!!!

The bumper is on, but I haven't got a crash bar or front GT4 fogs, which is a pain and a safety issue!!! I know that people have done this mod in the past so I jsut wanted to know how you overcame the problem? Is there something im missing or do you just have to leave the crash bar off?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Hey, this is a cool thread!!! I ahve jsut installed a GT4 bumper and bonnet myself!!! But I couldnot get the damn thing on with the original crash bar in front, and the GT4 crash bar would not fit...How did you/are you overcome this problem? Without the GT4 crash bar I cannot seem to mount the GT4 fogs either which is a pain in the ass!!!!

I also forgot to get the brow bar that runs accross the top of the headlights which now leaves a gap between the brow and rubber bit between the bonnet!!!

Any suggestions would be great!!!

Ok, I might have resolved this......I checked all the bushings and tie ends, suspension, tightened all nuts and checked calipers again!

I then looked on the back of the wheel and where i had painted over all corrossion from the old discs it was bumpy and uneven, also some of the corrossion transferred to the new discs. So I got some iron wool and scrubbed the mating surfaces clean and flush....Once both surfaces were clean and smooth and put the wheels back on and torqued up the bolts....I also removed the ABS relay and fuse just in case it was an ABS issue. anyway, took it for a drive and the wobbles have drastically reduced! So I put the ABS relay and fuse back in and it drove exactly the same...very small wobbles!! Which means its not an ABS or suspension bushing problem!!!

So in the next couple of days im going to take all the discs of again and clean all the mating surfaces so that it is a totally flush fit...I am alos going to bleed the lines again....Hopefully, I reckon this should resolve this little problem!!! Already its starting to drive much better smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Ok - update!! I have replaced all my rotors and pads and added stainless steel braided brake lines! I have also adjusted my suspension to its softer setting!

The good news is that the wobbles have ceased under braking - yay!!!

However I still get a slight bit of drifting and wobbles at 70-80mph! Although it's not as bad as it was it's still noticeable!!!

Im going to get the car into a nearby garage to have a chat with my mechanic to see what he suggests and to have a look at the bearings and tie rods etc! Its got to be the only thing that is affecting it now because ive had all four new tyres done and wheel balance!

The only thing it could need is another alignment, however I am reluctant to believe that this will solve the problem!!!

Just dig it out mate! Drill a hole, pick at it, pull all the wire out and scrape all the plastic out then buy a new one (They ain't cheap) I paid £60 of ebay for one recently!

Then refit it but make sure its an easy smooth fit, if not get some sandpaper around a scredriver or similar rod and scrape away at the inner wall of the mount until the sensor fits flush! Then use coppa slip to pop it in and tighten - easy!!!

Good luck!

Ah, that makes sense!!! I am using the wiring harness that came with the JDM's but the previous owner has obviously done some tinkering and done some odd wiring - I think i'll modify the offside reverse lamp to a fog and whilst im at it rewire the switch so that it doesn't come on with the brakes!!!

Thanks for the ideas guys!! Mucho appreciated!!!

Cool thanks for the onfo guys!!! I know its sounds dumb but I totally didn't even thinka bout it when I bought it, lukily I got it for a bargain £100 in the same colour as the car with minor stone chips, just needs a wash and wax!!!

Ive sourced a cheap GT4 bumper too and then Im just going to modify that a little with the grill and add a lower lip - should look nice in the end!!

Just like this:

Just bought a GT4 hood but it doesn't quite fit properly in the centre. The hood bulges where as my GT bumper is flat leaving a 1.5 inch gap between the bumper and hood edge - however above the headlights the hood is flush!

Is there a fix for this or do I need to get a GT4 bumper? Not a bad thing as I was going to do it anyway and then get a lip for it.

ta!

Hi guys, I recently installed some JDM tails and they look great. However I couldn't work out how to set up the rear fog lights.

My car is an import and im in the UK so rear fogs are a legal requirement - Im presuming here that the JDM tails don't have fog lights built into them? Cause i certainly can't see it!

My next question is that the previous owner rigged up a switch on the dash to turn the rear fogs on, however with the new JDM lights when switched nothing happens to the rear but when I brake the front fogs flash (turn on) = weird!!!!

Is this some suspect dodgy wiring job that Im going to have to investigate and redo? Or this a common problem?

Any help would be great!!! Ta!

rotors are warped

You reckon? But how does that explain the shuddering at high speed?

Hi, haven't been on here a while, sorry! But I had a quiery and usually someone knowledgable on here posts useful info!!!

My car at the moment seems to have some wobbles at high speed! I'll describe the symptoms:

At 60-70mph+ the car drifts slightly to the left, even if its against the natural camber of the road, and the steering wheel shakes, which is quite annoying! I've recently had new tyres fitted all around, newish suspension on the front, electronic tracking and wheel balancing before and after tyre fitting but it still occurs.

The other symptom is under hard the braking the steering wheel shudders even more for a short while but lessens as the car slows down and at low speeds, particularly on roungh surfaces the steering wheel will often dive off at an angle!!!!

I ahve however noticed that the rear strut rod is bent and i have a replacement on order, coming tommorrow and I'll see if this helps at all, although i doubt this is the only problem! I have a feeling it might just be the brakes, but would it shudder at speed when Im not braking?

I have after market alloys but have the spigot rings so its not those, im 99.9% all the bolts are correctly tightened, I just hope its not a steering rack problem...Can anyone offer any advice?

Cheers

anyone know where to get them? Especially in the UK? I have the 3SGE ST202 Celica GT 2.0 import and I can't seem to find any Stainless Steel Headers and downpipes for my car - loads for the ST but all the ads say for ST only - Will they fit the GT anyway? They look the same!!!

Cool, thanks!

Well I think the Samco stuf is ok they produce hose lengths specifically for fuel and oil applications, especially high pressure ones Like here

Cheers again for clearing the details for the actual job though!

Thanks, but what about draining the old fluid? Is it simply unclip the hose at the pump and allow it to drain into a bucket? Then reconnect, fill and bleed?

In terms of the hose Ive seen loads of 6gc's with Samco hose for the power steering line running down from the resevoir! Isn't the original hose silicone?

Hey, just bought an oil catch can - where is the best place to locate in on my 3SGE?

Initially I thought that it should bridge where the little tube coming from the rocker to the intake manifold usually sits. Top left, just in front of the oil cap, is this right? I noticed that it has a non-return valve but oil still gets through and if it is removed the idle is high!!!!

Just done a compression test and got 170.170.170.171

So IMO im not burning oil. Also had an MOT on friday and the mechanic also said that if it's not burning as he had it on idle for at least 20 minutes and notcied no smoke or funny smells and the engine sounds as healthy as ever!!!
