SO I've gotta say that building this car has been so far, nothing but headaches, with a huge doses of happiness in between. I've delayed making a build thread so it's just going to be one huge post for now, until the engine swap comes in, and other goodies. But for now enjoy.

When I first got this car, about 3 months ago, she looked like this:

now obviously this is before wash, and at night, so you can't really see anything, but all you need to know is that the previous owner, abused her, and really stopped caring about her, which made me quite depressed, the interior was also a damn mess.

day after, i took it to get a wash cleaned her up a bit, and threw on a set of rims i had, they're not nice, but they do the trick for summer better than those god awful things that it came with, (which are now back on because it's approaching winter T__T) but here are the pictures

Then i took the celi out to see some friends, an rx7 and a silvia =D it was a good time, but a ****ty day, so i'll only post a few pics

Now, i installed a TRD quickshifter, but it didn't come with the shifter itself just the assembly so it's nothing pretty to look at, no pictures of my interior really, but I got my GT4 spoiler, just in time for the local Calgary 6GC meet. photos can be found in the thread over in meets here http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=58088 but here are some sample pics enjoy!

These pictures were taken by 6gsillyca, KAOS, and walker, haven't seen you guys in awhile either, give a shout soon guys!
I don't really have a close up picture of the GT4 spoiler, but if you can see it, it is carbon fiber =D

and finally, after all of this, she got lowered on Tein S techs, and KYB GR2's front and back (she's also back on the rims she came on, but the ride height is no longer the resemblence of a jeep she looks sleek now, and i just washed her yesterday, took these pictures today (9/28/08)

alright guys, that's it for now, I know it's not much, what can i say, I'll take some more pictures of the little things soon, Lewfx hooked me up with a celica dragon decal, cept I don't have any photos of it. Stay tuned though, I got a wicked deal on a 2nd gen 3sgte which is >1000 not incl. install. and am looking into grabbing a GT4 frontend & hood obv. Thanks for lookin

New axles? Front or rear? You can get these at NAPA/auto value for pretty cheap. It would probably be a bit quicker than ordering off toyota world.

Would either David or Jeremy be interested in coming up North to do some brakes (and axles if we get them) in the next week or so?

I would be interested - just have to run it by the "boss" first to see if we have anything planned for whatever day you'd like to meet.

I would be interested in helping out as well. Just let me know what day you are thinking and I will check my schedule.

got a number you could hook me up with? I need new front axles lol, they make clunking noises when i turn right, it's ****ing horrible. I've been thinking about selling her and grabbing a 7th gen, but I know it just wouldn't be the same, also my wheel allignment is a bit messed now, ugh, hopefully i'll get a new job soon and be able to start repairs on this beast

No we were face to face - you were headed towards Deerfoot and I was in the turning lane to go up the Shaganappi hill...

Usually I notice other celicas if not always, my bad man, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the yelli celli now.

Yea, its been a few months since I've had a chance to browse the forums. I haven't had a whole lot of free time lately, like I said I hadn't even had the chance to go through my tank of gas from last winters storage. Right now I'm in the process of re-doing the brakes because they squal like a banshee. I guess I didn't put enough anti-squeal spray on. The 2 hour job it should have been has taken me almost 2 months, and I'm only done half the car...

Hey David, mind if i swing by so we could do my breaks too?
They're squealing worse then banshee's it's ****ing unbearable man.

Sometime in September we should set up a day and go to Jeremy's and we can all mess around with your brakes!

haha sounds perfect, she's @ the mechs right now if she still squeals like a pig then we'll call in a meeting for my lameass brakes T_T

Hey guys, just wondering where you've found intercooler kits that fit, I'm not sure of the dimensions on our cars, so any links would be much appreciated.

The "knocking" thing worries me. did you happen to log your odometer before you dropped it off and check it when you got back? I'd hate to think they might have been out joyriding and messed up your engine.
The Star Wars themed part of Ferris Beuler's Day Off come to mind. kindasad.gif
Good luck bro.

worries you? haha
worries the **** outta me haha. yeah i logged it, my mech's an older guy in his 50's so I know he wouldn't take it out for a joy ride, I'll talk to him about imt when he gets back though for sure.
I'll try blasting the caliper with a pressure washer after work, thanks for the suggestions so far guys, keep em coming

I just recently got my celica back from the mechanics after a tune up and the installation of my KYB's and Teins.
I took her for a drive around the block and the engine light came on and i was in a state of WTF, so i called up my mech, told him what was up, and he told me to disconnect a fuse and keep it out for a minute to reset the light. I did that, and the light still persisted, I drove around some more an about 20~ minutes of driving the light turned off.

Now every once in awhile the light will turn on, stay on for about 20~ minutes then turn off, Mech said it shouldn't be anything serious, but I'm start to panic a bit everytime it turns on. Also while acccelerating I hear a slight knocking sound, usually in 2nd and 3rd gear. Any Ideas on what that is? Also my right rear wheel squeaks whenever I break.

All these thing's are just adding up and I don't know what I should do about it since my mechanic is out of town for another week and I'm relatively broke right now because I just got back from a week of camping.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
