Well you may hear different opinions but I don't think it will sound bad at all. That's exactly what I did when I got my '94 GT coupe over 2 years ago. Here's the link to my Photobucket album with a couple of video clips of how my car sounded then '94 Celica Exhaust Clips . When I took these clips all I had done to the car was a 4-1 stainless steel race header and cold air induction. The rest of the exhaust was all the stock exhaust that had never been touched. You are also right that when you install the header it does away with the cat - as long as you have a Fed/Canada car. The Cali cars also have a cat under the car. When I get some time I'll post some new vids with my new exhaust that I had installed last month (full 2.5 inch stainless from the header back with Aero Turbine resonator and muffler. It also has an electric cutout just past the downpipe for the "drag-car" sound and power at the push of a switch or button. To answer your question - yes, it's worth it. |

Dude - apparently you haven't done many transactions on eBay - yes the picture may be for Honda but trust me - the actual item in the listing is for the 94-99 2.2L Celica engine. I know because I ordered a set - same pictures being listed, which are usually generic stock photos unless otherwise noted, but also with the same description for 96-99 2.2L Celica - and they are direct OE fitment. Please do your research before posting and making yourself look ignorant. No problem man. Here's the link foran auction on the Gates Racing hoses on Gates Racing hoses eBay auction Those are for Honda they have it way wrong. If you look at the pic there on the totally other side. |

Hard to find GReddy SP2 - believe me - I have been looking for 2 years and everyone keeps telling me that system was discontinued for our 6gen Celicas. I went with a stainless header (wrapped and sprayed), full 2.5 inch custom stainless piping with a BadlanzHPE electric cutout, and Aero Turbine resonator and muffler. Let me tell you - it sounds AWESOME!!! My car has such a unique sound that it turns heads everywhere I go, and of course, it's loud while still maintaining good sound quality - doesn't sound ricey or anything like that - has a deep rumble.. I'll try to put a video of how it sounds on my Photobucket (http://s591.photobucket.com/albums/ss359/bdawgbp1). Kinda expensive though (parts ran me $800 and another $300 at exhaust shop putting it on). |

Hey sugarfree. If you do indeed have a GT then you need the hoses for the 2.2L 5S-FE - which is the second picture above. The ST engine is the 1.8L 7A-FE which is the first picture above. The hoses are very different for the two. If you can I would go with Gates Racing hoses. I have a '94 GT with those hoses - and they are rubber - instead of silicone like the OBX. I think I got the set (upper and lower) of Gates Racing hoses on eBay for like $55 or so shipped. |

Bitter is right - you definitely need to pull the head. Bring that it is a non-interference engine doesn't mean that further damage has not occurred. More than likely potential damage is minimal - if any - and pulling the head will be well worth the easement on your mind. You would hate to not pull it thinking everything is ok and later down the road cause damage to your cylinder, piston, or head/valves. Felpro is good for a gasket set - I have a 94 GT that I just did full tune-up (plugs, wires, coil, cap, button) on including valve cover gasket and tube seals (mine was doing the same thing - leaking oil trough the tube seals. Valve cover gasket was fine and not leaking but I figured what the heck, might as well replace it with the seals.). Haven't seen any leaks from the Felpro gaskets or tube seals. I'm just curious - why were Champion plugs installed instead of the OE NGK Laser Platinums (BKR6EP-11)? Just for future reference about the only thing I MAY be Champion plugs in would be my lawnmower! |

The engine was rebuilt 90k miles ago - don't know if it has forged guts - I doubt it - but it runs good and strong. Doesn't leak or smoke and doesn't burn oil. Not sure of the tranny but it's AT with the sport/cruise shift option on it. As far as the ECU is concerned can I flash the factory ECU or do I need some kind of standalon air/fuel management? Thanks for all the input. |

Does anyone know what all is involved in converting a 4th gen 3S-GE (American version rated at 135 HP, 125 ft/lb torque) to a 3S-GTE? I've gotten my hand on a 3S-GE out of a 1988 Celica GT-S that was rebuilt 90k miles ago and I want to convert it to a 3S-GTE. Any ideas? Thanks a bunch! what im confused? 3s-ge is 197hp, 3s-fe is 125 and 5s-fe is 135 i dont recall them putting a 3s-ge in a GT-S as the JDM version were the ss-ii and ss-iii JDM caldina, mr2, celica, and rav4 got the 3s-ge. but no USDM models as far as i no I believe the 4th gen he was refering to is the celica, the engine would be 1st gen 3sge. That's correct - it's a first gen 3S-GE out of a 4th gen 88 Celica GT-S. |

Anybody out there know anything about installing aftermarket radiators and fans? I just bought a Koyo radiator - dual core 53mm - specifically for 6th gen Celica. It came with 2 JVT Racing 12" high speed fans. I paid $316 for the raiator/fan package. The radiator is direct OE fitment however the fans do not bolt directly to the radiator nor will they fit into the factory fan housings/shrouds. To make matters worse I can't use the factory fans because of clearance issues now due to the thicker radiator. I've tried and can't even get the radiator to drop all the way down - it's hitting the cruise control module, AC lines, and the exhaust header. Wandering if anybody else has ever gone through this and what did you have to do to make it work. Custom fabrication???? Thanks. |

Hey looks nice! I just got my Aero Turbine 2540i muffler and AR25 resonator a few days ago and my 2.5" stainless pipe just got delivered today. Man I cannot wait to get this put together - unfortunately my cashflow has been dwindled down by repairs to my other 3 vehicles so it will probably be a few weeks before I can get it installed. I'll take some pics in and try to have posted in a couple days of the stuff - looks beautiful. One question though - how critical is it to have the stainless pipe mandrel bent? I've called every exhaust shop around within 50 miles of where I live and no one does mandrel bending - I couldn't believe it. Will it affect the performance or sound? Also my original exhaust design was to have all pieces bolted together using flanges (the downpipe, resonator pipe, and muffler pipe all separate pieces with flanges) so at anytime I could unbolt a section and replace it without having to cut and weld. Is this a good design or would I be better off just having it all welded together as a "one piece" system from the downpipe back? Thanks for the input and again those are some nice pics - I always did like Magnaflow. Well finally got some pictures of my new exhaust - haven't had it installed yet though - hopefully within the next month. I'm still having problems finding a shop that does mandrel bending. I have a couple of links below to clips of how my exhaust sounds now (ebay header with factory exhaust piping, resonator, and muffler). It actually sounds better than in the clips (the clips were taken with my GE 7.0MP digital camera). Exhaust Clip 1 Exhaust Clip 2 |

OK - sounds more like it. Yeah - those will work just fine - the BKR6 series is the correct plug for the 3S-GTE. |

I'd take them back - someone else step in and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe stock plug on the 1.8 is the NGK BKR5*** plugs. Crucial to install the proper heat range. The BKR6 series is for the 2.2 GT. |

Alright - that's the answer I was looking for. Right now I'm probably at about 200HP with plans for future boost. Mine is a fed emissions so I don't think I'd want to swap to the more restrictive Cali emmisions. Thanks Presure2!! |

I have a 5S with the coil built in with the dizzy and I want to upgrade my ignition system. I wanted to go with an external coil but can't find a dizzy cap with the 5th hole for the coil wire. Anybody know how this can be done? Obviously I need a cap that fits like the stock cap made for coil in dizzy - can't find one anywhere - was trying to upgrade to the Nology ProFire M70 external coil. |

I had the same problem - check your plugsthen check your timing. I had 2 of 4 plugs come loose - immediate loss of power and also clicking noise coming from the top side. Torqued them back down and readjusted timing and we were all good again. |

Thanks - I was about to waste about $90 on one off of eBay - check out the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=250253732870. They hype it up like you can get some real power gains + fuel economy. |

I think the Denso part # is 6714154. NGK part # is TX69-4445. You may want to verify though but I was told these will work for both the 3S-GE and GTE. |
