just try to find an area that has good clearance to play with, sry i dnt have my car on hand to take a pic. if u have a 3-4 foot long prybar or one with an angled end, it should be np to pop out, put the tip of the bar against the backside of the axle, and then lean the bar against the tranny. push real hard a few times, and it'll pop out alright imma raise my car up a little higher so i can get a metal pipe on another pry bar and try it again but thanks man youve been very helpful |

thats just about they way to do it, idk correct me if im wrong, but on most fwd cars thats how u do it. just try and keep the inner axle level, then find a spot that will give u good leverage, and go to town, dnt be affraid to use a big a** prybar, it makes life much easyer. haha yeah i been trying to do that all day haha but thanks to but is there a good spot to pry it out of the st tranny? |

Don't forget to get a new axle seal too. The driver side axle seal "will" probably get busted if your going the "prying it out" route. It takes time but it will come out. tried praying it out still not coming out what other way is there or other tools o can use to get it out |

lol. Its not gonna come out by just pulling on it like that, good try though. Get a assortment of pry/crow bars, and on the part that goes into the transmission, there are deep ridges in the metal, made just for you to pry there! There is a snap ring that holds it in well so it takes some muscle. And be sure you have drained your transmission fluid or some will come through when you pull the axle. thanks |

i searched the site already and they said just to push it in and use your full body mass to pull it out when i tried that only half the axle came out from the inner rubber boot the part that connects to the tranny is still stuck in there is there a way to get it out without a axle puller? |

last weekend i heard a grinding noise on my left front side wheel well and i figured it was my hub so i just replace the whole knuckle and since i was down there anyways i replace the front rotors with oem replacements and new pads also. but on monday coming back home from school after about 20 miles i tried to brake and the petal went flat and i had no braking power at all (yes i bleed my brakes and new brake fluid also) so i quickly downshift and used my ebrake to stop pulled over and towed my car home. im not sure what caused it and i still do not have braking power cars just been sitting in the garage could it be the master cylinder or the brake booster? |

QUOTE(tonytutino @ Feb 19, 2008 - 9:57 PM) http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=27939 check the stickies man^ there you will find completed motor swaps and other ideas to help. personally swapping a 2.2 would be a waste. if you want alot more power, take the 3s-gte route. but a decently performing engine is the 4age which swaps right in for the most part, since you have an ST. thanks for your help man i really appreciate it Jayson |
