Well thats definately the biggest issue, i dont know much more than that. its too inconsistent. I can say however that it is not affecting how the car performs, no wheel shaking or anything like that. Its not while its turning at any particular speed or while its turning at all. it has happened while turning but its not everytime. It also seems like it happens more a low speeds, but it may be happening at high speed s but the road noise covers it up. its hard to tell. i know its a puzzle, its been this way since i got the car. i just dont want it to be something that turns serious. But again it seems to happen most often while pressing in the clutch at low speeds, or while i'm just starting to move. But my clutch is only a year old and the noise seems to be coming from the drivers side wheel well. so thats about all i can say.

Can i check for a bad wheel bearing or can only a shop do that?

ok and its not always when i turn. its very wierd and i've had it into the mechanic and they found nothing, nor did they hear anything. but that is the problem when ever it goes to the shop, it goes away.haha and i feel like sometimes it may be something clutch related but i dont know what that would be. i'm lost as to what it is.

so i have been experiencing a not so consistent clicking sound which sounds like it is coming from the driver side wheel well while driving. however it ranges in how bad it is and sometimes doesn't do it at all. I just read a post where someone said his Cv boots were bad and caused his axle to be bad. Could this be my problem. and if it is where do i find the CV boots and can i diagnose the problem my self?

well i got my alternator checked and it said it was good. so do you think i could have shorted something when i put the paper clips in the diagnostics? and alright Griff i'll check those. But would that explain this suddenly happening? it did it again today so i have the battery on a charger and if i cant fix it i'll just bring it to a mechanic.

ok cool i'll keep that in mind. but the craziest thing just happened today. I was trying the paper clip thing and it wasn't working so i just stopped trying and then about an hour later tried to start the car. then it wouldn't start, but it was as if the battery was dead so i jumped it and it started, with out the check engine light on. so i was thinking cool! but then it died again when i threw it in reverse a few moments later. Now i just got a new battery last month because the other one was causing bad corrosion and also wouldn't keep a charge. so it shouldn't be the battery. But then i jumped again let it run for like ten minutes, and it ran fine with no engine light on. So obvioulsy i'm extremely puzzled. and the only thing i could think is i have a bad alternator(but its weird because the battery seems to be getting charged) or a short somewhere. but its been running fine with the new battery no problems at all for a little over a month now. and i'm willing to bet when i start it tomorrow everything will be fine. (but i cant count on it.haha) i'm really hoping my check engine light doesn't come back on but i'm also worried because it is there for a reason and i haven't solved any problems.haha so if anyone has an answer to this crazy problem that would be sweet.

so i see alot of people around here always saying to do searches and how they should have done one before posting their thread. well personally i've tried that and never can find what i'm looking for so i was wondering if there is some kind of tip anyone could give me? i dont have time to look through every thread and every comment and alot of times i'll get a search result that just has a brief mention of the subject i'm looking for. its kind of a pain so idk, maybe i'm just not doing it right.haha so i'll take any help i can get.

you can try to tape off around the clock and the screen and then repaint it back to black or finish off the blue.

yea definitely tape around it and paint it black again. it won't take but a minute and you won't be settling for the overspray look.

Cool i'll definately do that before my show.

Why didn't you take out/ tape off your clock when you painted the dash? The overspray looks horrible.

Not shy on that comment.lol but i did tape it off but as i was spraying the buttons on the clock caused the taped to pop up allowing some of the spray to get under it. And yeah i was a little pissed when i first saw it but then i didn't care. i'm not a proffesional, i understand that and this was the first time i'd done anything of the sort. and really the pic looks alot worse than it is. it turned out suprisingly even giving it a "unique" look, if you want to call it that. i've come to terms with it and it really doesn't bother me.

If i did it again, i would probably do silver or grey in the interior.haha but i chose blue strictly because that was my lighting scheme and it fit. but hey i'm pretty happy with it. And the car show got pushed back to May 8th so i'll let you know how it goes. But for some more updates, i bought some used 17" rims (so much for my $100 budget lol) and took some close up pictures for those of you who wanted them. So here is some more. Let me know what you think. and i'll keep that Meguire stuff in mind when i go to clean it.

so i bought used MB rims and unfortunately the stock lug nuts dont fit in the holes. So i went to advanced auto and bought some much smaller ones. the nuts fit in the holes but i cant get a tire iron on them. is there a way to solve this? or do i need a new tire iron and probably new again smaller lug nuts?

Yeah i actually just used some dash paint that i got at auto zone for like 5 bucks. and i got the blinkers and side markers from ebay actually. they still might have some for sale. being from ebay i was a little worried because i like to see them in person before i buy them but i was very impressed with the quality of it. but i'll definately make sure to get it all detailed for the show. haha and i'll try and get some close ups of the dash up like tomorrow or soon for you guys.

Alright guys got some mods done on the car. I used your guys' opinion on doing some painting i do like the look. I added the clear "euro" style side markers and blinkers, plus added some blue interior lights in the trunk and rear speaker compartment. Since some of asked for some pics here they are. but keep in mind i live in colorado where its 70 degrees one day and snowing the next. so my car is not the cleanest it could be. tongue.gif let me know what you think! still got some engine bay painting to do.

...and turbonators...

Hey dont hate on the turbonator I have 7 of them on my car... I kid I kid...

but seriously all these "performance chips" are is just a 99cent resistor from radio shack that is put inline with the sensor in your air box. All it does is trick the current load coming from your air box and tricks your ecu into dumping more fuel into the engine. The resistor changes the resistance in your sensor and make your sensor think you are at the conditions to where you would need more fuel... waste of money, waste of gas... spend the money you would have spent on this on a tank of gas...

- Matt

Alright cool, i really didn't want one, obviously i figured it was just junk, but if i was missing out then i wanted to know.haha but thanks for explaining exactly what it is.

I actually just took that exact kit off my car to paint the trim. It really did look pretty good for my standards. I had no problem with getting burned.haha it was nice but i'm happier with the paint. but if your looking for easy and more attractive than the stock i'd go for it. and if you decide to change it later it will come off. Takes a little work but it comes. Also it doesn't quite fit as clean as the picture makes it look but it still is fine.

I just was wondering if these performance chips will actually do anything for your performance or if anyone has one they like. I'm more just curious if there is any truth to this than really looking to get one. I have always just wondered if these work like the seller claims. but here is a link to one of them if your wondering what it is. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/35HP-PERFOR...1QQcmdZViewItem
