i will reply in detail later, but in simple terms, again you are wrong, there are many st205's out there with massive bhp and will quite easily hang with the said cars you think are the benchmark, the build we have just finished on my brothers st205 for one will decimate alot of motors, mine being moderately modded can out pace and handle alot of things on race tracks and mine is just a base to show what they can do... so make what you will, if you cant make them quick with small simple mods there is something going wrong.. |

That is quality!!!! MORE!! found some real old photos of mine back in the day, didnt have the fmic or owt, just a pretty much standard one here... and a newer one of the beast from the east when i was about to roll out onto track to race at donington park, everyone tells me off for cleaning polishing and waxing before i go out but look at her, i think she looks like its rolling out of a showroom, and thats how it should be! quite a new one it is, had the fmic and all what i have now, bloody hot day though, but great day of racing, rolling out of the pits ready to rumble |

aye, for the 3rd gen gtfour, toyota massivly understated the car on the specs sheet so that it didnt piss on the supras 45k price tag as opposed to the fours 30k tag. however in saying that the 3rd gen massively ranges in bhp and when i say massive, i mean massive, some are known for 240bhp... some have been as high as 280bhp so as you can see, it certainly could shift and hit 0-60 in alot sooner than the quoted time from toyota of 6.1 seconds, try a sub 5.5 with a launch, |

yeah its a great video that, and to be honest the gt4 doesnt get great launches either so could be quicker still, same goes for supra at end though. both stunning cars. |

heers guys, thanks for the comments! i started up my own weekend spray shop so its all going well, and the car looks stunning in the flesh, i thoughtid hate it as i dont really care for skylines anyway but i love it, maybe its because i built the car but i think its awesome! only problem is like you said, too low is an understatement, i could literally JUST get my shoe under the bumper if i forced it so it was like 2 inches tops off the floor, so we have raised it alittle as it isnt worth destroying a genuine do luck bumper, so its a little higher, i still think should be more though but it is jos car |

well been down to do some more work today, the skylines now looking as follows, going back tomorrow to do some more bits. so far we are at this stage geting the roof done too need to go over again tomorrow but we shall see as i think i will crack on with the evo tomorrow and leave the liner. got 2 base coats down on the evo spoiler, doing the skirts tomorrow. update on the liner... the do luck body kit had been picked up and fitted it the other day.. genuine front bumper, genuine rear and copy side skirts i think primer grey and white suit it! :lol some more pics of the liner after fitting the new tein super streets.. before after love the skyline down low, just needs the spacers putting back on the rear to push the wheels out to the arches, will be getting the colour on next weekend as we finally decided on a colour! ) blue / purple so my friend calls it blurple, with a pearl to it, should be good. |

just a post of the car and its history really, might be of interest in progression. The car is a R32, was bought and we presumed an RB20 block... missfired and engine didnt run right to start so we did the usuals and changed the fuel filter, plugs and put a wasted spark kit on it to rid of the coil packs. this sorted the running problems and then we went to the nurburgring, this however blew the headgasket... we didnt know this till home though as other than over heating no hg symptoms showed, we tried running with no thermostat to keep water pemanantly open, over heating still happend, just took longer. we limped it home 500miles and took the head off to find the hg mullered and the number 1 cylinder full of water how the hell it made it home under own steam il never know. so then we found the engine had forged interals and was a bored out RB25 block.. bonus!. so i set to changing the rb20 turbo for an rb25turbo that we had, walbro fuel pump, tein superstreet coilovers, a blitz induction, and our FMIC conversion. The subframe was dropped, suspension bushes changed etc. well here more detailed, we got the car back from germany and whipped the head off, cylinder 1 full of water... not good, turned out to be head gasket failure so we sent the head off for skimming. dead car.. Under the head was when we realised the car wasnt what we first thought it was... forged pistons, conrods and and bored out rb25 block! once the head came back we had done some alterations: FMIC conversion a new downpipe fixed the broken hanger on the rear silencer gutted the cat fitted a new walbro pump a new fuel tank new EBC discs and yellow stuff pads an RB25 turbo Full set of DEFI gauges, Oil temp, Oil pressure , Water temp and Boost pressure, all recordable so we knew what the engine was doing. Removed all the hicas rear steering pipes and weilded up the pump so no leaks and locked out the bar. the head came back and we put it all back together, ran it slow for a while as we had boost spike issues, this turned out to be that the wastegate path was too narrow and was causing massive boost spikes to 1.8bar! back to the standard turbo elbow and this solved the problems. The changes ended for the time being as work for me became too busy. a drift /sprint day we organised then ensued and the car had its first real outing, and it ran a dream in which it went all day without missing a beat, same said for my gt4 bar me oversteering into a near by field. haha THis brought about the start of the bodywork. So i set to sanding back the old paintwork as i wanted to re-spray the car from a blank canvas so to speak. To start we needed to rid the car of the rust over the rear wheel arches, there was a massive amount! As we are putting wide arches on the the rear we cut the arches very high to make sure all rust was gone in preparation for priming and painting. i let Jo loose with the grinder to his car! front and rear awaiting parts for my da sander i made best with what i had So we set with the sander and off i went.. removing the bumper im sanding.... and jo.. well, sitting in a chair! :lol considering its his car... lazy bugger remember... no drinking at work... unless its on a friends car or your own.. then its ok. :lol a few hours at work.. but we are getting there after sorting out the big triple sized garage for my spray booth the work again has started on the skyline, so this weekend i spent the time spraying some parts on the evo and the liner together, just primering stage at the moment but its all coming together well, heres the pictures. the liner with new wide arches blended and filler primered, also starting to primer with the real proper primer prepped for painting so on she goes.. rear quarter nicely primered up and smooth as anything passenger side.. the bottom of the door isnt primered yet as i have to do some work on it yet and shall be removing the wing mirror next week too.. alot of work left on the drivers side to do... new wings need blending in as you can see, i need to make up a new bracket for the fuel cap or make a new fuel cap totally as the new arches litterally are 3 inches to 4 inches wider than standard! so next weeks jobs on the liner are as follows, finish the whole car in primer and get the rear quarted smoothed and blended in to the car ready for primer. also cracked on with the evo gsr spoiler while doing the liner as i have got a fair bit of work to do on an evo too.. sprayed spoler in parts but just to show the primered look i put it back in situe unbolted.. but the liner is FINALLY getting to make shape, i shall post more pics up this weekend when i set back to work on it! when finished it shall be a "blurple" colour as my friend calls it, or thats the colour he wants me to re-spray it anyway, so i will just do as he wants but so far, the progress is as above, more this weekend! from a bag of nails to a lovely car we are hoping, well i know it will look nice but being a datsun, who knows how long it will last. anyhow, cheers dale |

phew, thats ok then, i was thinking you were going to run the standard ecu fuel maps at over 1.2 bar, which would be catastrophic for the pistons. good good though, new fuel and boost maps are good, we are mapping my brothers car in 2 weeks, cant wait! |

so you are changing to a piggy back ecu? if you are going to keep the standard ecu then taking the fuel cut off the ecu is a very very bad idea. the standard st205 unit is only programed upto 1.2 - 1.4 bar fueling with a ct20 as the turbo, if you crank it up more boost then irrelevant of the boost coming in the ecu will only fuel the maps it is capable of, i.e. 1.2-1.4 bar max, and that will inevitably melt your engine, fcd on an st205 without a proper aftermarket ecu is a big mistake |

everything looks tidy to be fair on that block mate. nice st205 block, not a wrc though but tbh that means toss all, we welded up the anti lag ports on the exhaust manifold when doing my brothers forged conversion as theres no need for them, bar that the block is identical to the normal st205 block, i know many people claimed the wrc block was thick walled but thats utter tosh aswell as its luck of the draw again in the 3s as to block thickness. nice clean block. |

which aussie downpipe did you get? the same ceramic coated pipe that i have or the non ceramic pipe? if its the ceramic, dont lag the pipe. what ecu are you running? as the standard unit isnt mappable, and fuel cut is a bitch, but can sometimes be got around by porting the wastgate. |

haha, indeed mate, its awesome, did 15 laps, had a few hairy moments of madness where you could say a change of underwear was needed... especially on my last lap which was a lets either go hell for leather fast as humanly possible or pootle... i chose fast as you can, had the rear wheels come light as i went over the brow of one of the lifts as 145mph... to say i nearly left my stomach insides would be an understatement... but i did decimate 2 R34 GTR's and 1 R33 GTR along with a couple of 911 turbos and m3's so that was worth it! and forza is alright, im sometimes on, dalegt4 is the username, although its dissapointing driving the game after going there, you cant feel the camber changes and inclines that much but pretty accurate on the idea of the corners though to be fair. indeed, its cost adam a fortune in parts, but its worth it, we have run in 1600mile and are giving it upto 1 bar boost at the moment, its sounding absolutely awesome when the wastegate opens, sounds like a plane, although we are only running the 540cc and side feed rail, the top feed and 870's are going on in 3 weeks time and we are going to see what we can get out of her. and indeed, how gutting to put the weisco in the engine, they are awesome, and we are looking at taking mine apart now.... but using a bigger turbo... but not sure yet as my engine is too perfect to take apart so we may buy another 3s-gte block or just by an n/a and drill the oil feed and swap the engine so we have a standard internal block and a forged monster one too, in the pipe line but not certain yet... with the bhp and torque... ive no idea, it made over 250awhp with only 1 bar and that was with just a nur spec-r exhaust and apexi intake with 1 bar..... so we have cranked the boost way up, full 3 inch straight through out the turbo along with some altered gain settings to spin us up quicker, anything can be acheived with a 5.5k launch off dropping the clutch, its just how long the drivetrain lasts so we used my khumo tyres as i can just light the tyres up all the way through first gear so its less strain on the clutch and drivetrain ( i love my car to be flawless so i go easy on it) the top speed was bouncing off the rev limiter at 7250rpm with over 1.3 bar boosting, the secret to any power is the best intake charges you can get, the only reason the 3s melts the pistons is yes bhp but also massive intake charges, the cc is crap at sustained high boost application, so the biggest most efficient fmic core we could find worked a treat to make the intake temps silly low so that helped massively on the maintaining reliabillity with boost and bhp. on hot track days we still only run 1 bar.. donington park last year.... in the snow.. and yes i know, shocking doing doughnuts... but great fun... |

well we built my st205 to be as fast as possible on standard internals without melting anything.... which we succeded in with 171mph on the autobahn via road angel gps and a timed 4.05 from 0-60mph at the fun weekends here.... so we went onto build my brothers car one... make that 10 better... so the standard car was running nice but in the quest to go better than me we pulled it apart... the spec from off the top of my head is as follows... Garrett GT3071r with 4" intake Tial 41mm wastegate Wiseco 86.5mm pistons (block bored and re honed) Crower con rods ARP bolts ACL race bearings Crank cleaned and polished Spec clutch rated at 550lb/ft torque Fidanza Flywheel All balanced together TB developments downpipe and screamer pipe kit Aussie Exhaust Midpipe Blitz Nur Spec r exhaust Wolfkatz 870cc injectors plus top feed fuel rail Walbro 255 pump Koyo radiator Our own custom FMIC conversion using the same Forge motorsport core as me ( 780mm x 320mm x 80mm) which will make it only the second in the country and maybe the world to retain everything with no modyfing of any of the oem parts to fit. Blitz intake Motec M4 ecu Blitz spec r boost controller Rocker cover also sprayed blue Manifolds remain as before as before and also cams as these do not need to be changed to acheive 450-500bhp pics will be up soon.. |

gutted for you mate, the car looks top shape mate. only one thing is that going from your top pic the radiator looks very worn, the top tank is browned by the looks which means its likely to have hairline cracks in it if its anything like the usual st205 rads when they brown they start to crack the tanks, then eventually die a death. lovely motor though mate |
