I just bought my 2nd 6GC. I'm ****ting bricks, as my Convertible doesn't have a VIN. I've spoken to the owner and he didn't know as he didn't register it and kept in yard (oh it was sooo dusty)...sorta sketchy about him now... Anyway, I heard that the VIN plate [on the dash] can be replaced but you have to prove the title (which I have) matches the VIN of the car. Any other locations for the VIN It's a 1998 GT (Manual) Convertible. Would appreciate the help. Thanks, |

Honestly, I am stuck on this issue for quite a while. I initially thought it was the batter or the alternator. I got the battery tested at Walmart as that is where I bought the battery. They told me the battery was low but the cells were ok. I figured it was the alternator. I changed that out. The other things I changed out were the sparkplugs, although I could not get one of them out and I think it's misfiring. I'll have to take the head cover out and unscrew the pipes, as the sparkplug that I couldn't get out, will have to be taken out this way due to the nut part being gone(?). I can't really see. I've changed the water pump and the timing belt at this time too. The symptoms: 1. I apply the brakes and the lights go dim. 2. I don't have a hard time starting the car, but sometimes I feel that during idle it may go off...it feels weak. 3. The alternator I bought was tested and was ok. 4. I hear my misfiring slightly--but I know which one it is; I just don't see this as the problem, but who knows. 5. I have my hazards on or my blinkers, and it dims as well. 6. When I lock or unlock my car (security keyless), sometimes the horn sounds weak like there's no battery. Sometimes it's strong. I would appreciate any insight or help on this. If you need more information to diagnose, just ask and I will try to observe more symptoms. Thanks in advance. Betta-J |

tranny side is the front main seal. but you should first check the tranny end of thr oil pan and make sure it isnt just that Rear Main seal is behind the flywheel on the transmission side. Front main is the one on the oil pump side. The front of every engine is the timing side of it, usually. Thanks! what engine? also look in the stickies, i wrote a very detailed thread on rebuilding a 7A. it shows both the seals Thanks, I'll look for it! Thanks All! |

I am sorry to ask this as it's probably posted somewhere, but the SEARCH did not show it and I didn't want to go through 29 pages. Someone please help. I was told I have a rear (main?) oil seal leak. I thought that was in the timing belt area...but some mechanic told me the leak is on the tranny side... Anyway, if you know the sticky for the DIY oil seal, please share or any post related, I would appreciate it. I actually have two seals ready since I got it with my timing belt kit...but again, the leak is from the tranny side (driver's side) so I hesitate to open my timing belt cover. Thanks a bunch! Derrick Chin and Craig Kurokawa are my buddies on FB. Derrick is full on 6gc and Craig, doesn't have a Celi anymore, but I think he'll come out. When do you wanna do this? I just had a business trip, so I shouldn't have one for a while. If you're in Orange, you wanna just meet up in the southbay area? Or we can go to one of the beach cities and chill...BBQs are still good this season so... |

Yea, I'm trying to swap the stock for a BOSS 8975B in-dash DVD. Here's the pic. http://external.ak.fbcdn.net/safe_image.ph...GsL._SL500_.jpg I bought it off a guy for $50 as he was too lazy to return it to Amazon. Never been used and was purchased in 12/2011.... It didn't say any compatability with Celica or any Toyotas, but that is because it won't fit in the panel--I will have to cut the opening so it will fit. The wiring shouldn't be a problem, but I have to check whether it needs an amp to power it. I think I already fried my amp b/c it smelled burnt after I did something, which then caused the OEM (when pluggin back in) to gradually lose power and then not turn on anymore..haha. This picture really helps to see what is what on my cables! |

I live in Redondo Beach..so I'm down as long as it's fairly close/driving distance isn't more than 1hour. Or instead of really organizing this, why not just meet up somewhere...not call it a meet. Just a meet up to see each other's cars... |

Again, I have checked the Stickies for this...it's just that it's a 15pin, and #10 pin is not used... I thought it was a CE 3371, but on the pic, the #13 pin is blank..so is #2, #5, and #9 pin blank... http://www.tehnomagazin.com/images/toyota-ce-3371.gif Here is my actual harness. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49853257@N04/.../in/photostream Here is my actual CD Player/Radio. http://www.flickr.com/photos/49853257@N04/.../in/photostream Thanks! btw, yes, it should be a factory amp as no one touched this area of the car (even the 1st owner) |

Added Info: It's a Fujitsu Ten 121000-96400101 Toyota Part Number 86120-08040 It's just an OEM CD player...I bought this car used from the 1st owner, but I figured this car came with this (I've read that the player comes in other cars Camry, Avalon, etc...but it's in my Celica) I believe there is a power amp that it's plugged into...which probably fried... Anyway, I hope this added info helps to help me. |

I've checked the sticky for this topic, but I don't think I can find my answer. Problem: The wires of the harness are not the same as any of the write-ups. My harness has almost two of the same color with silver dashes on the wires. It is only one clip harness that has number 1-15 on them. There are no others, although the CD player itself has another harness port on it, it is not hooked up..dunno what thats for anyway. Anyone have a link to guide me on the wiring? Also, last night when I was just testing the power on my new one through the old harness wiring, I think I burnt something...I checked my fuses but nothings. Do you think it's the amp that's right below it? Is there a fuse in that amp as well? The reason I ask is because now my radio (the oem one) went from ON to faded out--doesn't work anymore; no power to the radio.... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Someone PM me if this is going on or not please. I'm looking forward to it and I don't wanna drive from Redondo Beach to this place and find out it's not going on. ..and what sucks is that I can probably only go in the AM and leave before the food...but then again, I may drive up again after picking up my friend from LAX. Thanks! PS-I can bring an Invader Front Bumper with the bottom lip..if anyone wants to buy this off me for $100, that would be great. I haven't even put the thing on my car and I bought it from a guy in Ohio. It looks ok as far as I know...Lemme know so I don't have to bring it if no one is interested. |

i saw that guy at the end of the 91 freeway about 1 month ago when I went to the k1 speed in Torrance. It looked like a supra from far away then as he was passing on the opposite side I saw it was a 6gc. That was me on the 91 freeway. I drive on that way every day. I have the SS-III spoiler. The other guy has a white raiser block... Anyway thx for reply. The riser blocks and SS-III spoiler are the same exact thing. The euro blocks are the different ones, they sit about half the height of the ssiii ones. I mean in a sense "authentic SS-III" vs. imitation SS-III/GT-FOUR...I am aware of the blocks being the same size and shape hmm..well, I guess the guy is not on 6gc...Next time I see him/her, I'll pull up and talk . |

Hey guys... Here's the deal. I'm selling the following cuz I need the money... Veilside STYLE Side skirts..unpainted and unused (I believe the coat looks like white primer) $60 FIRM Veilside STYLE Rear Bumper...like the above.... $100 OBO Invader Front Bumper and the bottom part that you bolt on (dunno what it's called) $100 FIRM--I actually bought it off a 6gc guy. Never installed it cuz I got this below.. An authentic Veilside Front Bumper with the bottom portion damaged, but anyone that knows how to do fiberglass fixing, then it should be easy. $200 FIRM. (The top portion is totally fine) 3 Post OEM spoiler from my 99 Celica...$50 OBO. OR TAKE ALL for $500 and sell them yourself for more... I will not take low ball offers as I am needing the money for "living expenses". I would like Pick Up only as I really don't have time to go to the Post office or Greyhound to get a cost. I live in Redondo Beach, 90277 zip. Give me call 614-537-2353 (yea, it's an Ohio number, but I haven't changed it yet) |
