Dragging this one out of mothballs. I'm having much the same issue as snapshotgt with my front suspension. Bouncy as hell, sitting super low and bottoming out on minor potholes at minor speed. My crossmember has been sectioned and plate steel reinforced so sits no lower than original. Only started happening around a year ago and the v6 has been in for 3 years - so does this just mean my struts are blown? Surely springs have lost their strength as well? I would go prokit as well but my cross member is not low like snapshots and I want a decent drop for performance reasons. Thoughts?

Thanks guys - I guess my springs have just sagged with age then. They seem soft as and if I slam the brakes on the nose dives like crazy. Added to which I can't go over a bump in the road faster than 40km an hour or the front end bottoms out. I'll see if I can look up snapshotgt's post re suspension setup.

Hey all you guys with a 1mz / 3mz swapped celica - what spring rate are you running on your coil springs? I'm not sure if my 4 cyl sports springs have sagged with age or the extra weight of the v6?

Cheers

Did this go ahead? And if so did your celica handbrake setup work with the camry disc?

I'm looking at doing the same thing so I can swap my rear brakes to camry and front brakes over to the 2008 highlander front brakes for a big cheap upgrade.

Cheers

I dd my 1mz swapped celica. No problems, but the tyres seem to wear out pretty quickly.

Kurt,

Having driven my v6 celica for a couple of months now I would consider going with the taller gearing in the e153 v6 box. First gear (if you could get traction) is gone in the blink of an eye as it is. I would hate to think how quick I would have to change with the s54 box.

Also with all the torque they put down pretty much instantly, I feel better knowing I went with a box that can handle the power.

cheers

if you're worried about turbos, why not go the 1mz-fe v6 swap instead.

Its a local motor you can inspect before you buy, parts are cheaper and easier to get.

Power should be the same or better than a stock 205 gt4

some one must have the CAD drawings for the calliper bracket floating around some where. Why don't more people want an alternative to the gt4 4 pot calliper?
