Yeah. If you hear a large highpitched squealing it might be that there is no power on the video card. If it doesn't turn off.. thats kind of weird. The best thing to do would be to take a step back, find the instruction manual and set up the case and power 100% correctly, like matriculates attention to detail. Also make sure your connections are tightly connection and that there are no bent pins on things. |

I'm going to see it first day. It will ruin my childhood in the exact same way Speed Racer and Transformers ruined my childhood. If they make a buggs bunny and tweety movie or make new school house rock episodes... I will have nothing left and be just another empty shell of a person bound to commit suicide by jumping in front of a subway because all the happy moments and memories in my childhood have been ruined. Okay maybe not that drastic and bleak, I mean I still have Pogs and my action figure collection...... |

Hahaha I don't have any pics of it but on Friday in the same storm I got my car stuck on a small snow bank in my driveway. It was pretty early in the morning and by mid afternoon it was completely buried. I also think the cold and my trying to get it out of the snowbank fried the battery. (Since it smells like battery acid every time I walk by and it won't start.) Would've been in the garage for this mayhem if there wasn't already a tractor in there :'( Hahaha I love winter! |

Hmm I think the drinking age should be lowered. Well at least here. In my experience the legal age just means that minors here have to engage in somewhat illegal activities to get alcohol. I was certainly paying people to grab me a twixer (26er) of vodka when I was 17. At 18 people I knew were making frequent trips to Quebec, where you can buy at 18. So it doesn't seem to protect minors from getting alcohol, which is kind of the purpose of making it a law. Also, its actually easier to find drugs here as a minor than it is to find alcohol. Far easier. Actually its not really uncommon for you to walk outside of a door and find people in the middle of a session and inviting you to join. This is most certainly something to do with the city I live in, but its still pretty interesting. Lastly, no matter what age. The first two years of having alcohol availability from my experience are the years you will drink the heaviest. Up until a year ago, I was considered by definition and alcoholic in that I binge drank 12 or more times a year. I also used to be part of the LD50 club ( > 0.35 BAC). My friends and I would drink a twixer each and THEN go to a bar for 3 or 4 pitchers. Needless to say after experiences like that we've curbed our drinking habits. However most people aren't as extreme* as that and will drink a little more moderately and eventually drink less. Its also Canada so its generally more acceptable to binge drink and I'm almost certain we can handle alcohol better than most, by virtue of our culture. * Btw by extreme, I think I am basing my definition of off one person I know, who ended up in emergency with 0.60 BAC. He wasn't there for Alcohol poisoning though, we was there because he got a concussion from falling off his porch. After he got back he slept for 3 days waking only to get food and water. It was kind of funny, I'm surprised he's still alive. |

Well - I'm not sure if they mean Saab & Volvo as a whole, or their car manufacturing. Yes Ford owns Volvo car division, but doesn't own the Volvo company. Same with GM. GM owns Saab car division, but Saab is an aerospace provider, which GM doesn't own. We're talking about the car firms though. I also found an article that verifies its the car firms. "Volvo and Saab had been asking for Swedish state support because of the financial woes of their US owners." But yeah... Saab aerospace.... Do they even make money? Volvo Trucks probably is still profitable. |

WHAT THE HELL? Its snowing in Texas? But its sunny and pretty warm up here!!! I'm in CANADA what the hell? I want snow There's like a bank of snow where the ploughs all ploughed it to one side, that's not enough to play in. Also, I am going to subscribe to the theory that is it climate change and not global warming. Its like the axis has shifted. |

I think your country should take the bailout money and offer it as a severance package for the employees. If the company gets the bailout money, it just means that the in equal distribution of pay will still continue. Where the janitor is making 52k a year, the CEOs and the Board are making probably 10x that. I mean, they stand absolutely nothing to lose, and right now it seems like the poor are bailing out the rich. Also, in Ford's case. Have you seen the new European Focus compared to the American one, you know the one that's tearing up gravel in WRC? Sell that here. I'm sure they would sell fairly well, I mean the Mazda Axela (Mazda 3) sells well here and its on the same ****ing platform.. Hell its even got a reputation (albiet a small one) as a tuner vehicle. I don't think they could really fix that whole situation, but that was a stupid mistake in my mind to make a separate North American and European model. Lastly, don't diss unions. If it weren't for them we would still be living in a Dickensian Nightmare, making 5 cents an hour. Sure, the American Auto Unions suck, but there are still places that need to be Unionised. Well auto unions suck when you compare it to the Japanese model of work. If you put people in tight highly specialized work-groups, give them a little bit of agency and have them cross trained (so if they don't feel like doing the same job they did for the past 5 weeks, they can switch up), plus throw in comparable benefits and pay you've got the Japanese model of work. You need fewer workers, however the workers are much happier and best of all, aren't unionised. They may be paid a little less, however they do not have union dues so it almost works out to be the same in the end. |

Yeah, I opted for an EVGA 9800GT Superclocked for $150 on Friday. I don't get to use it though, I need a new PSU. But I'm almost certain, like all my components, it will run REALLY HOT and require a really fast and loud fan. How much did the 9600 cost you? |

OH MAN HAHAHA so I went to google and clicked image results. Lets just say the 3 three were three different colours. Bright Yellow, Lime Greenish and Orange. They look pretty okay. If I weren't so attached to the OZ Racing WRC wheels I might consider these, or the 57C. What colour do you plan on getting? |

HAhaha I just like the fan. I just priced it up at around $180 which is way out of my league. Fort that price I can get a stainless steel case But I do like the open concept, that is so cool. However I sleep in the same room as my computer, and although I hear it makes no noise at low speed, overclocked components will not allow it to run at low speed |

My head hurts and you're making me think of Objectivism. Objectivist philosophy believes that you are always acting in your own way to achieve your own goals and that relationships are a construct of trade. Wether it be goods, or money or a feeling, you are always getting something from a relationship. Even a single sided relationship can be said to be producing something and giving it to you. I love my car, does my car love me? No, however I do get something back from the love I give to my car, I get the feeling of pleasure every time I drive it. No matter what you do in Objectivism, you are doing it for yourself. Yes and no. Every man is an end to himself, which basically means you have control over yourself and no others and your own personal happiness & self interest hold supreme importance. So what you're saying that a person is always out to gain something for himself could be true, in a way, these could very well be unconscious decisions. It is also only 1/4 of the objectivist view. But you could also apply this to every action ever anywhere, so it's not going to really help the argument with conformity. Let me add: I don't agree that there is a such thing as a total non-conformist. Everyone conforms in one way or another. Whether it's following laws, doing what your parents say, being the religion of everyone else, wearing the latest fashion...You'd have to be an alien from a different planet to be a non-conformist. Yeah, I guess I am oversimplifying things. I guess we could probably spend all day talking about philosophy and I am trying to avoid that by kind of dumbing things down... I shouldn't do that. Yeah, in practice is it probably impossible to find a complete non-conformist but that's really based on definition. Also certain laws do fall under conformity however most fall under compliance. Any laws that aren't actively enforced could be considered conformity if you follow them, however when the are laws that you must follow or else... that is compliance and not conformity. |

to nonconform is to conform example: 2 people disagree on a topic yet they agree to disagree so it is impossible to disagree (or nonconform) to everything that's just making the definition of conformity too vague. Conformity is an active choice not a passive choice. You actively chose to conform. They don't read a post like mine and say "That taskbot, he really represents dominant culture and holds a lot of power. If I agree with his post, I might be able to gain some of that cultural capital or avoid being discriminated against because my world-view is different." They probably don't even read my post. Someone who takes this position does so, even before entering the forum and posting. Conformity of posts has nothing to do with this topic. Though you last point is valid, you used a hilarious premise that I had to call you out for. It is impossible to be a non-conformist forever, I think. Unless you live a very short life as a complete social outcast or have anti-social personality disorder it would be pretty hard to live an entire life where you find nobody you want to be like or an ideal you want to conform to. Taskbot, ive been trying to read and keep up with all you have said, and I have to admit that its all pretty interesting, but has it ever crossed you, that maybe one can choose to follow nothing but themselves, therefore they are choosing not to conform to anything. And i do belive this beats the mindset that, WHAT IF, there were a group of individuals that all shared that point of veiw...hmm, you try to get 2 ppl with radical veiws unbiased by anything around them, to form a structure that is beneficial to themselves, and following the mindset i am trying to explain, no they wouldnt do anything to benefit each other unless due to them not caring. i mean they are in it for themselves to follow their own thoughts, or desires...ignoring those of others, and choosing to just do what they want...no if want they want happens to be in common, is that conforming....it sounds stupid to be like that, considering there are countless situations where that would actually be healthy to them, but if they were true non-conformist, why would they form a conforming structered level of trust, for any reason? It would be impossible. But that is with two individuals....back to just one person, what if a group of other chose to follow that one non-conforming individual. Then what...would that make him a conformist...no, i would think not...he isnt the one conforming to any ideal except his own...but those that choose to follow him, are the conformist...just like you said, it is an active choice to do say, and if they actively choose to do so then, yea.... Think of the movie fight club...i mean really, brad pitt, didnt follow any social standards, and didnt really care about those beneath him...those who choose to follow him. only himself...that attitude though, was just what i was talkin about though... Is that possible, like you said yourself, yes it is...its just not healthy, in some cases....either to them, or those around them... I mean, the definition of non-conformity is basically that...its a thought pattern, a choice to choose to think differntly, radically or not, against convention. Man my head is hurting...did any of this even make sense? I like your ideas. It would be almost impossible to find out though. You would have to find someone so radical and out there, that all throughout their childhood they refused to play into the ideas and roles that were assigned to them. They would need to have no gender identity, they would need to skip over all of Erikson's or Freud's developmental stages (Psychosexual if you are a freudian; since this has a lot to do with conforming). This sounds like an interesting individual though. This is probably moot though, don't pay attention I am just outlining pure non-conformity. Okay as for this individual. If one acts in their own way all the time yeah they would be a non-conformist and like Tylder Durden probably considered a revolutionary. They wouldn't be a conformist so long as they were always self-serving, whether it helps people around them or hinders. So long as they always act in their own way, they are a non-conformist. But Tyler Durden was an alternate identity of the narrator so.... Is this really relevant though? Not really until you throw in the context of conformity. Would an objectivity consider conformity? I am unsure. Conformity might not even have a meaning in Objectivism, it might just be a means to an end. I don't think Ayn Rand would hold the same weight on conformity that most others would, especially if the end result was being a non-conformist. So if your two individuals were Objectivists, they might not be conforming. Trust or even conformity (if they did) would be basically to further their own needs and the means to achieve their personal goals (which might be to be a non-conformist). Alirght, I kind of give up. I have confused myself however in a backwards way I think I've answered your initial question and probably proved the point. Yes, it is entirely possible for someone to be a complete non-conformist... but its contextual almost. What might appear to be conformity to an outsider, might in fact be the person themselves trying to achieve their own goal. I think I need some time to consider this and come up with a concrete idea about conformity because even though my one definition I would say you can't be a non-conformist, by another definition I could say its all based on intent. Which means anything I've previously said may be conflicting with what I'm saying now... whoops. I am not going through this post and proof reading it, its going to come out as confusing garbled ideas. |

All good cars. Personally I am looking at a Datsun 280z to fix up and be exempt from emissions here in California if my plans for the MR2 do not follow through. From your selection, I say 165! WHY? Why not the 240Z or 260Z. The 280s have park benches on them. You know, those big massive bumpers the 280Z had to meet US safety requirements when the S30 lineup was refreshed. I can see how you would want the L28 but I think any potential speed you will make up will be lost by the added weight of those chrome monstrosities on the front and back. Still, anything S30 is still a beautiful car. If you get one, you should make your first mod adding a seatbelt to the front bumper, so you can drive an extra couple of friends around on it |

Its too much a question of taste. I would get a 300zx knowing it would be a garage queen. It would be the most fun to drive IMO, or at least the most challenging. The fun thing about anything Nissan though, is if you end up hating the stock engine there's like 40,000 other engines you can swap in. I've also heard of people swapping LS1s into their 300ZX. the ST165 and ST185 are amazing. Personally I think the ST165 looks a little more bad-ass, and it fits my tastes. However good lucky finding one. The sad fate of Japanese cars that old is that they've suffered the fate of daily drivers. Nobody would tell you in 1986 that the import scene would explode (and that this car would have more of a value than a Camaro or Mustang for example). If you find a 185 you should settle for that. Never driven an Audi and although the A4s are nice, without Quattro written on the back, the are just overpriced Passats. Though there is a huge community in tuning Audi/VW vehicles, the main focus is of course on Quattro models, Audi S models and the lighter smalelr Golf/Jetta GTi. However if you're looking for something a little bit on the side of luxury the A4 is a good choice. |

$3K = Celica DD + 240 with KA-t for drift ^^ KA24DET is really popular now since the larger displacement produces higher torque and its uber cheap. Even so, you could probably find a cheap SR20DET sitting somewhere if you need more power later on (or you explode your KA24DE). |
