glad to hear your positive feedback guys! so Ray, 3 years of no rebuild? well i might opt for higher K for the fronts....9 or 10K but ST202 rear is light scared the 5K-7K is too stiff and bumpy....will opt for the stock 4K (my TRDs now are 10K and 6K at the back...damn uncomfy) i hope guys with similar setup share the stories here one last Q for u Ray....what weld did the shop use...cause im gonna DIY myself.. Cheers! Sam |

digging this old thread.... thanks Ray for the great write up! i'll be getting my hand on these coilovers soon, but a quick question for those ST202/205 hybrids: what spring rates are best for this setup.....mine is essentially ST205 @ front and ST202 at the back, would an 8K front, 4K rear work? i noticed BC sells two models 1. C-26 94-99 CELICA (SUPERSTRUT) ST205 comes with different spring rate options (6K-4K) (8K-5K) (8K-6K) (9K-7K) (10K-6K) http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/c-bcc26/toyota-...perstrut-94-99/ 2. C-33 94-99 CELICA(SUPERSTRUT) ST202 (8K front, 4K rear) and im also not sure if the fronts sets are same just with a different spring rates for the ST205 and 202 respectively? THX |

i've just bought an Apexi PFC unit that is designed for SW20 MR2 and would like to use it on my ST205 the commander mentions 3SGTE3 PFC Ver3.2 Commander Ver 8.x engine starts but dies after a sec or 2.... i've chosen "ETC"-->"All Data Init"-->"yes". also disabled the Boost control kit and the prob persists....any idea why? The MR2 is wired a bit different than the Celica. I have no experience with an ST205 but my engine came out of a JDM MR2, and that's a totally different car versus the ST205. Don't think that just because they're both 3S-GTE, you can get away with plug-and-play ease. It might work for some people, but not all market cars are wired exactly so it might work for a few members here and not for you. If it shuts down, there is a problem. Check the wiring to make sure that each pin from the ECU harness is going in the right pin location of the PFC harness. The fueling map for an MR2 is going to be different, but I don't think it should prevent your engine from running continuously. Heck, our engines can run with a 4G63 base map...and that engine is WAY different than ours. was your MR2 engine a 225 or 245 model? 3SGTE Rev2 on the 225 needs an adaptor harness...this PowerFC is showing "3SGTE3" 3 to indicate Rev3...I stand to be corrected |

also, to avoid boost creep, get a Tial 44 instead of the 38mm. i had boost issues with a 38 until i upgraded to a 44. then it was rock solid! i'm still running the stock turbo hence stock wastegate... btw, what turbo are u running? and at what boost levels? mind sharing? http://injector-rehab.com/shop/pumpflow.html (supra vs walbro test #1) http://www.stealth316.com/2-fuelpumpguide.htm (supra vs walbro test #2/more fuel pump madness) http://realstreetperformance.com/store/pag...son-test-5.html (great aftermarket fuel pump comparison..makes you wonder why ppl even care about walbro pumps) http://www.alltrac.net/tuning/fuelfaq.html (supra pump install info, and great comparison with other pumps.) If it were me, id go with an aftermarket brand new pump. Why you might ask?!?! Simple, you could get your used supra pump and not even know how much life is left on it..even worst you could buy one brand new, which i dont see why anyone would ever do that when you have great ones that can be had for less that 160usd these days. i 2nd that! |

Azncelica, ur new kit looks great! delusionz, my turbo died when i was cruising at around 150kph just under .8 Bar.... im yet to check whats actually happened but i suspect its a similar thing to what you mentioned...i do change my engine oil every 5K KM, warm up the car till it reaches 1/2 and use a turbo timer to shut down the car... not sure what really happened, will check this weekend and post. |

S54 accelerates faster than an E153 the pros of getting the E153 is the LSD (if any) and the low RPM levels.... my personal experience is getting a ~74 MPH @ 3000RPM for the E153 compared to a ~66MPH at the same RPM of the S54 tranny on 5th gear.... my 2 cents! |
