Lately i've seen a lot of people saying that they have sold their celicas in the past and then in just a couple years they come back for more and buy another celica, despite the fact that many of the cars they buy are far more advanced. maybe we are just becoming more like our parents or grandparents where they just have to have their car from their youth. you see it everyday, elder gentleman goes out and buys a brand spanking new car, but then after a while they start getting nostalgic with their old mustang or chevelle, corvette, etc... and they go out and buy it and feel right at home. i havent had my celica very long but i've had my 95 corolla for almost 7 years and honestly i dont think i'll ever get rid of it. i've driven balenos, aerios, my moms scion xd, my wifes civic, my dads 06 bmw 325, and i feel much more comfortable in my reliable rolla. and maybe that is whats happening to us, were getting older and things just arent the way they used to be, in this instance, the celica has a spirit that no other car, old or new can duplicate, pretty sure when were all driving some new toyota sport model in the year 2026, we will always come back to our 94-99 celicas

Guilty.
Got an IS 300, a month later I had another Celica. Currently have a 350Z and 9 times out of 10, I'll take the Celica. I've had 6 Celicas now, five of which were 6th gens. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. If the 6th gen came in RWD I would be back in one now.
But having gone from FWD to RWD... I'm not sure I can go back. I want a 6th gen for a commuter -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

I drove a 5spd IS300 for a few months after losing my celica in an accident, but as much as i enjoyed the rwd factor, 2JZ, and comfort, i missed the fuel economy and the handling of the celica.
so now i drive a gt-four and life is good again -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I get where you're coming from, except for me it's the MKIII Supra. Funny I should choose today to check in on the old 6gc.net. I haven't had a Celica in over 8 years now but I still check 6gc a few times a year. For those who don't know me I was mainly on this site from it's inception until 04 when I totaled my 95 ST. My 2nd car was a 1985 Celica GTS and I ended up getting a 95 Celica ST in 99 after the 22RE overheated one too many times (my own mechanical ineptitude hard at work). The 7AFE was extremely good to me and saw me through many a RallyCross and pizza delivery getting 33+ mpg the whole way. The power of the Supra is loads of fun and the handling is surprisingly good for such an old car but more often than not I just plain miss the old 6th gen Celica. My fiance never saw my Celica in person and isn't really a car person but she knows me well enough that she will tell me when she sees a 6th gen even if she's out alone and just telling me about her day later. For a long time I'd check this site with the intention of trading the Supra in. In the end I think I'd miss the RWD turbo a little too much but if I ever have room in the driveway for another 'toy' there's a good chance it will be a 6gc. |

RWD, AWD, FWD, it doesn't matter. I don't do anything "special" so it doesn't matter. I bought my first 6g and sold it to get a MR2 turbo. Sold the MR2 turbo to get another 6g. Sold the 6g to get a 7g Celica. Sold the 7g Celica to get another 6g. Sold the 6g and got an IS300. Sold the IS300 and got another 6g. Sold it, got a 2012 Corolla S and I WILL get another 6g this summer haha. I've been through 20 some odd cars and there's just something about it.
