well on all the 94-99 5SFE(2.2L) Celicas I have seen have two nipples on the valve. It would be possible to have one nipple, with another orfice allowing air in from the atmosphere.
But perhaps yours broke off the second nipple?

Also, is yours a 6th gen(94-99) with a 1990 engine in it or is it really a 5th gen 1990 celica?

Mine is a true 1990, I dunno about the engine but i dont think it ever has had a swap since it has 190,000 plus miles Part has no damage but not multifunctional.. I was looking under the hood and it says the one I have is combined with the A/C
I have a 5th Gen wide body celica Ive been looking for the part but cant find it anywhere..

It has two ports where i guess usually there would be only one.. Also mine hooks up to a actuator and manifold not directly to the EGR

Try getting in contact with Tracey at Lithia Toyota -- she's the parts rep for the dealership's online parts store. Lithia's very good about supporting the Celica community and is fantastic at looking up part numbers for our old cars. Provide a VIN, or else specify year and model (and whether you have air conditioning) to get the right part for your EGR system's VSV.

A lot of part numbers have been superceded since 1990 -- the new part will fit but has a different part number.

Lithia has a sub-forum for part number requests at celicatech.com, or you can go through Lithia's website.
