I didn't see this posted anywhere, so I figured I would just post this.
To remove the caliper, you only have to loosen the screw on bottom rear of the caliper. You can then rotate it 180 degrees upwards, push it backwards, and the top will just slide out. (There is no screw on the top) Then to remove the caliper/rotor housing, there are two 14mm bolts on the front side of your car. Voila, everything that you need to get to that rotor is not loose or off. Good luck! A B C D Imagine these letter as the driver side brake assembly. A and C are the Caliper housing bolts B is the pin that slides out to release the caliper D is the bolt you have to remove. I believe it is a 12mm, if not 13mm. |

How removing the rear brake rotor? Mine's a disc brake not a drum. I removed the who brake caliper but the rotor doesn't seem to budge. Read up online and it says you're supposed to just pull it right off but seems like I can't get off neither can a local tire shop. Any ideas?

You have to use one of those bolts you take off, I believe the bracket bolt, and thread it into one of the holes that are on the disc near the lugs. Then you get a ratchet and just tighten that bad boy down until it starts to move the disc.

So basically the bolt I'll use is going to pull the rotor off the assembly and forwards me until it falls off? How about installing?

Yeah, that's basically how it works. Remember, is the caliper bracket bolt, not the caliper bolt.
To install, it usually just slides back on fine |

Mine always break loose easily with the bolt method and then just slide back on.

I had a hell of time with my rear rotors on my last Celi. The parking brake assembly jammed up the rotor and for the life of me, I could not get it off. I ended up using a hefty screw driver to break up the assembly through the little hole in the back of the rotor..damn, that job sucked.
If your parking brake shoes are good and the assembly is good, the old rotor will come right off with the bolt method and the new rotor will slide right over the parking assembly. -------------------- |

You broke the parking brake pad up? Why didn't you flick the parking brake adjuster wheel on the 6 o'clock position behind the rotor? |

But every time I pulled on the rotor, the pads would open up (flare out) with the rotor. It was pretty much like a chinese finger trap. It was completely loose when the rotor was pressed up on the hub -------------------- |

So installing would be just like the front. Just slide on. No banging or press needed.

Installing the rear disc brake is easy if you remember to tighten the parking brake adjusting sprocket. This retracts the shoes, so there's nothing to get in the way of the rotor. Forget to do so, and it requires force. This is why you want to make sure you have the hole in the rotor lined up with the largest hole in the faceplate of the hub; once everything is installed, you can then reach through the aligned holes with flathead screwdriver and adjust the parking brake shoes by turning the sprocket.
This also helps in removing the rotor if the rotor was correctly installed -- you can use the sprocket to retract the parking brake shoes. It's a good idea while you've got the rotor off to lubricate the parking brake components. The bolt holes in the rotor accept the same size as the bolts used to hold the caliper to the caliper bracket. |

It was a b1tch to get them off but I managed. Now my extended lugs and spacers are installed.

take off the caliper bolts, then take off the caliper, then take off the rotor with the handbrake off if its for the rear, and then use a bolt to thread in if its stuck.
