The sensor itself or the harness?

nah just plug it out. but with my experience it was too old and i broke it two time on different cars. the plastic was delicate. just be careful. plug it out and if i remember it should be a 17mm. i used a wrench and unscrew it. if the engine is cold and no pressure. it shouldnt come out.

you are making a big deal out of nothing, what exactly is going on? if you need to replace the sensor just unplug the harness and swap it out. yes water is going to come out, not alot, but some will.

the sensor is constantly on, it provides the ECU the temperature of the coolant for enrichment and tuning
