What are the best ways (If any) to change the look of a 1994 Celica for under $200?
The celica in question is named "The Beater" on my profile if you want to check it out. |

Change as in an upgrade or change as in so you can't tell its a 6gc no more? Lol. Under $200, you can't do much of a major change. Unless you do a lot of DIY projects.

C'mon cheela give him a better option than that man. If ur trying to think outside the box but also attempt at DIY, I'd recommend trying to go different I.e. body kit from another car of similar shape like the eclipse and some fiberglass and bondo. But if ur trying to keep the overall look of the celica the are a few options such as the st205 front end conversion, or the ssIII or preface lift conversion. Either of these option tho attractive and functional will cost u a pretty penny. There really isn't a such thing as a low cost build when it comes to this hobby. I'd recommend make a plan how u want ur end project to look and function but also budget and take in account the funds it will require to complete it as well. Good luck and tho this probably wasn't the answer you were looking for I hope it helped in some sort of way.

Its about 200 a side. Be it front, back, or sides..even tail. Whole front conversion is a pretty penny...
If you can work fiberglass and bondo like a magician you may have better luck on the cheaper spectrum =P |

To give a better look overall, I think plastidipping the car would really make it look better. Alot better than $200 for one front bumper and have faded paint all over or even a really nice set of tails. and 200 won't give you a paintjob but I guess depending on what the op has in store. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

You could try a Rustoleum paintjob, that's a nice DIY project.

JDM Tails, Clear Corners and Side markers. There's $200 already if you get them for a good price.
You could replace that dented fender for under $200 if you do it yourself. This post has been edited by cyberblader1130: Apr 1, 2013 - 12:24 AM |

on a 94 celica, i'd say get jdm foglamps or jdm kouki tails. but if lowering springs are an option, i'd go with that first.

I say go all out and come up with ur own design of a hybrid kit. Something that stands out from the norm and makes a statement.

GT4 riser blocks Kouki Tails And believe it or not, the GT4 riser blocks are the most functional. They make an appreciable difference in handling at 60mph This post has been edited by Special_Edy: Apr 1, 2013 - 6:18 AM |

everyone but cheela read the initial post.
under 200$. hmmm.. plastidip is the only real solution. is that a black soft top i see. Looks like a convertible to me., but unsure. 200 now a days, may be the down payment plus ur car as a trade in, and you can change the exterior all together into another car, bam! seriously if not plastidip, save those 200 dollars, until u get more free cash. because bringing that pain to shine is going to be more... and slapping jdm tails, splitters, bumpers, is not going to change the paint, -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... It looks as if you have an area to paint it. Could sand it down and respray it yourself for around $200. Get the dents out the best you can, then use Bondo to fill it out. That alone would be the best money spent to help with appearances.

If you're gonna go cheap, I agree with Box. I say punch out the dent, fill it with bondo, and respray it yourself with rustoleum paint. I sprayed my winter beater a few years back with rustoleum and I must say, I am very impressed with the paint. Besides the few small rock chips on the hood, the car still looks the same as the day I painted it.
Before paint - A complete eye sore. Notice the big ass dent on the hood. I didn't bother to pull it out. Instead, I just slapped some bondo on it the ghetto way. After paint. Bondo smooth and dent not very noticeable. Close up of my bondo work. I've been slamming my hood shut for the last few years and the bondo hasn't chipped or popped off yet. I don't have a recent picture of it but it still looks good to me. Rustoleum paint |
