Hello guys.
I think to buy pair of Precision European Motorwerks spacers for 60$. What do you guys think? here's the link. http://www.amazon.com/Hubcentric-Spacers-C...erks+5X100+54.1 Is it a good deal? or they're not the safe? Any opinions? like what about a quality compared to ichiba or H&R spacers? Thanks This post has been edited by Red123: Apr 6, 2013 - 3:31 PM -------------------- |

I think this is one of those products where you get what you pay for. I'd get ichiba just because you know your wheels won't fall off while driving. Lol. Then again that as double the price.

A spacer is a spacer. A wheel can fall off regardless of the manufacturer. Most of these brand name companies don't do stuff in-house, they're outsourced materials and labor from China as well as the cheap eBay ones.
That said, as long as the spacer is hubcentric to your vehicle hub and wheel hub, and you torque all the spacer nuts down with the appropriate torque they'll be fine. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

Yes, as long as they're hubcentric to both the wheel and the hub of your vehicle AND you torque the spacers down properly. (star pattern, with a good leverage handle)

So what you're telling me is that I over paid for my ichiba spacers. ****! Lol. J/p. Its like buying an intake. All it is, is just a pipe and a cone at the end. Only difference is that it cost more to have a branded name on it. Lol. -------------------- |

I'm not saying you overpaid, I'm saying you paid what you wanted to pay. I wouldn't pay more than $70 for a set of hubcentric spacers. I've used the cheap ones before with great success so I'd have no reason to purchase Ichiba, H&R, etc.

Might as well get the 5x100 to 5x114 if it's the bolt on. Lol. Get more variety of wheel choices. I'm not saying you overpaid, I'm saying you paid what you wanted to pay. why are the spacer's extra lug nuts more safe than the stock steel lug nuts? Is it the only difference?
@Syaoran I've searched in internet and ebay hubcentric spacers have the same response as ichiba or some brand ones. I think it's a worth to buy a pair of PEM hubcentric spacers for 60$. why are the spacer's extra lug nuts more safe than the stock steel lug nuts? Is it the only difference? Some wheels have mounting issues with a spacer, the studs can effectively become too short for proper attachment. A spacer design which has studs attached is preferred in some applications, that way the wheel can fit tightly over the studs like it did without the spacer. I've been running spacers. Mine were custom made, but as long as they're hub centric to the wheel and the hub you're good. Just make sure you get them torqued down good. One thing that helped with mine is getting new tuner lugs also. It helps you line everything up. I've had my GT over 130 and had no issues with them. I feel so though you'd have to hit something really hard to knock a wheel off, and that can happen without spacers.

Got them in today and they definitely look and feel like quality parts. However… The nut that holds the spacer to the hub/disk/w.e. doesn't actually sit flush with the spacer. I will most likely run them to my machine shop (next week) and have the spacer holes ground down a little more. Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up haha -------------------- |

Check to see if your wheels have a hole between each stud hole. If so, you don't need to grind anything down. Modify the spacers in an excessive manner and it's only a matter of time until they fail, so be careful.

my experience.
I've received 25mm and 20mm PEM spacers. 25mm spacers for rear and 20mm spacers for the front wheels. 25mm spacers installed ok with no problem but for the front wheels I had a mounting issue. Studs of the 20mm spacers are the same size as 25mm spacer studs, but I can't install wheels properly. Studs are rubbing there: It's necessary to increase these spaces a little bit in order to install the wheels properly. Is it ok to do that? I think what you got were adapters and not spacers. Spacers you wouldn't run into this problem. Adapters you will run into this problem if your rim doesn't have that extra clearance for the Adapaters protruding lugs and nuts. Id rather buy spacers and extended lug nuts, than drilling holes into my rims. Its up to you though. Drilling holes into it shouldn't be a big problem. People redrill rims all the time.

I've bought those items:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/380629216968?ssPag...984.m1439.l2649 http://www.amazon.com/Hubcentric-Spacers-C...erks+5X100+54.1 yesterday I drilled the front wheels and it's ok now I think. even on high speed. no extra handling problems. -------------------- |
