Well that's unfortunate.
I thought of a way to stay with a Celica, find an All-Trac. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Bought some wheels. Celica feels better. Sadly not the same center caps.

Today I had some bad luck followed by some good luck... Was driving earlier and my knee gave out while shifting into third, ended up grinding.. In some ironic twist of fate it no longer grinds when downshifting into third. I'm not going to question it, and am just going to accept it. Kind of pisses me off though, I've never had my knee give out while driving. Generally they only give out when I'm walking, which proceeds with me tumbling. Rather have that happen than the aforementioned..
Any who on to happier things, my new seat belt should be here in the next few days. That and heavily thinking about doing the exhaust on it. Along with fixing a lot of the other nit-picky things before trying to sell again. Hell, may even keep it. After thinking it over quite a lot the only other cars I'd really want are near impossible to find. I've been looking ever since I've decided to sell, and the only ones I've found have been too far away to drive and get. Maybe it's a sign or something. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Looking good, Ferdi. Are those 15"? 15x6.5 (I would have preferred 7, like stock). ET +43, 17.5lbs. This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Apr 15, 2013 - 9:08 PM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

Looking good, Ferdi. Are those 15"? 15x6.5 (I would have preferred 7, like stock). ET +43, 17.5lbs. Not bad all; close to, if not, stock offset and lighter than the tC wheels. They will look nice on your 199 beauty. -------------------- Has no more Celicas

^That's terrible. It's like adding insult to injury at that rate.
In other news I removed the resonator from the intake pipe, and covered it with black nylon mesh. I can remotely hear the engine now, which is good since I shift by sound. Suppose it's a good alternative to doing a short ram, doesn't cost anything and don't lose power by having an air filter exposed to engine heat. Thought about running a hose to inside the cabin, but too much work. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Oh some people. Was getting gas and someone in a riced out Civic pulls into the pump next to me. Fart can, giant ass chrome rims with a spare on the rear. Initial thought was oh boy some punk ass kid. But no, it was some 30+ year old man that was severely balding. Some people shouldn't be allowed to own cars.

you're kidding right? that note is the stupidest thing ever. at least leave their phone number and insurance info or might as well not leave anything at all. Yeah, I initially thought it must have been a prank (Not the first time my friends have done it), but nobody will take ownership this time. It is pretty low, obviously somebody must have been watching. Yup. ^ That really sucks. I'm curious to see a picture of the scratch that person made. I was a bit confused, because I was parked where I thought it virtually impossible to get hit; parallel parking on a service rd of a service road that is only accessed for parking, and there is about a metre and a half clearance on each side of the car (And I reverse parallel parked in... they were already there). I tried to take a picture but it wouldn't show up on my phone camera - I think it was a scuff just under the right low headlight (I was initially thrown off this, because there was already a tiny mark here, but it looks much bigger now... or maybe its just because I'm looking... this is messing with my head ). My car already has many minor paint blemishes from the previous owner, but events like this remind me that as much as i'd like a full respray, I could never live with this happening to a perfect paint job. In other news, the paint on my roof and top of hatch has been VERY faded since I bought the car (And rapidly escalating), but should be resprayed very shortly (Well, as soon as my euro front splitters arrive )... but I have just discovered that the pressed section at the very top of the bonnet is fading too :'( -------------------- SOLD :( 1997 ST204 Celica ZR -----> See it here on 6GC! 2013 October Celica of the Month XD Now: '00 NB8B Mazda MX5 -----> See it here in off topic! |
