Thats a long drive... Around 9500 miles for me. I'd have to change my oil 3xs (about $80 if I could get the oil on sale) and fill up with gas about 380xs (about $17,100 give or take $100). So yea, I don't think I'll have enough cash to make next months Cross-Pacific drive. Sorry guys.

I just change the oil once I hit Hawaii, then again once in Japan. Costs about $1,000 in fuel though... Totally worth it to get fresh Pocky though.

Today I decided that I am going to keep my celica and turn it into a 3sgte and awd conversion instead of buying a Scion FR-S, although I love the body style of both, living in New England the Celica will be better around here. I also started looking at rims weeeee! Just buy the 90-93 All-Trac. Don't like the bodystyle of the 90-93 |

Well, I like the front of the 5th more and the rear of the 6th more. If only could combine the two... Anyhow there's also the 88-89 All-Trac. I can't remember which one it was, but I recall either the 4th or 5th gen All-Trac had a selector on the transmission to make it FWD. I guess that'd be for saving fuel on the highway. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Finished custom gauges. Added white leds to light the odometer, red leds under the needles and indiglo gauge overlays. Changed all warning lights to leds. Added chrome accent rings, used needle covers from a bmw cluster and changed the shape of the turn indicators.

Today I... spent a decent amount of time making my first signature.... I tried to find any size guidelines in stickies but couldn't see any, so I made it 600x150. Finally finished and happy with it, upload to photobucket then go to edit sig and it says 400x125 :'( Might as well post it somewhere... -------------------- SOLD :( 1997 ST204 Celica ZR -----> See it here on 6GC! 2013 October Celica of the Month XD Now: '00 NB8B Mazda MX5 -----> See it here in off topic! |

That was the exhaust setup I was originally going to run. Today I got my BCracing coilovers.....except they delivered the WRONG type....they delivered the BR type coilover when i ordered the RAM type coilover....FML That happened with a pair of Dr. Martens I ordered recently... only for me it was right box, wrong stuff inside. Today I... spent a decent amount of time making my first signature.... I tried to find any size guidelines in stickies but couldn't see any, so I made it 600x150. Finally finished and happy with it, upload to photobucket then go to edit sig and it says 400x125 :'( Might as well post it somewhere... Looks great! Just shrink it a bit and you'll be golden! Today I worked on the rims a bit more, put in red LED lights under the doors as (ground viewing) curtasy lights, adjusted my hand brake so that it's not sticking straight up like a dildo anymore and adjusted my exhaust so it's not falling off of the clamp. End result, I need to install LED strips instead of the LED bulbs (looks like a bunch of circular alien lights on the ground.... and my exhaust is no longer falling off, but us now rattling against the rear under-body. So, back to adjusting it some more >.< I've also got to stop a squeak coming from my rear right rotor. Sounds like I'm choking a duck whenever I back up. -------------------- 1994 Toyota Celica GT-S 5S-FE 190k Miles. Project car 1992 Toyota Celica GT 5S-FE 170k Miles. Today my powersteering fluid decided to take a giant poop on itself and start leaking out around where the vaccumn lines go in. It leaked and got EVERYWHERE under the car.
This ended up being more of a high res axel shot more then anything but it still shows all power steering fluid coating everything. Its also all over the fender well, inside of my rim, crossmember, suspension shroud, bottom of the block, on and on and on... It looks like its also leaking out of the where the pully attaches too but I couldn't verfiy it as I could only see drips dropping down from that area, not actual seepage like where the vaccumn lines run in so it could have just been from the powersteering fluid soaked belt No me gusta. This is gonna be another fun repair. |

Just remove it, you don't need power-steering anyway.

If I remove it I might as well put a new one in I could just cut the belt and call it a day but FWD with no powersteering isn't exactly the best thing ever.

My red MR2 had no powersteering, what a pita in town, expecially for a new driver.

Today I'm contemplating my sanity. I have someone that wants to buy my car, but I'm back to the point of not wanting to sell it now... Hypothetically let's say I were to get the full $3,000 for the Celica. I have $1,500 from selling my Cadillac to go with it, so $4,500 total. Which is more than enough to buy a nice car. The only car I'd want as a replacement is the Lexus SC400. From what I've found one in nice condition would cost me $3,000+, but odds are it'd have a few small blemishes still. The main concern being at that point odds are it'd be due for timing, brakes, tires, and suspension. Even doing all of that myself it'd still easily over $1,000 to do. So I'm looking at spending all of the proceeds from both cars. On the bright side of things it seems my knee is doing better and the last few times I've driven it I did it without the brace with no problems. I am highly considering doing a (true) cold air intake and redoing the exhaust though. Perhaps even get some 16" rims to help with handling... Who knows.
