What's the reason behind the so called switch?

I'm mental. The original reason for wanting to sell it was due to the lack of power and with my knee giving me problems it was the final straw in the matter. Though my knee seems better now, hopefully it stays that way regardless. I can get 35 mpg out of the Celica, and everything has been done to it already. I know what I have, and aside from the lack of power I like it. Got to looking into other options and for what it'd cost to get the Lexus done right I'm spending all the proceeds to do it. Unless I got lucky and found someone selling their car just because they can and everything was already done. That and the gas mileage plays into it the more I think about it. With what little driving I do it'd be a $600 a year difference just in gas. The only other alternative would be an Intgra GS-R, faster and would only cost $100 more a year in gas. Then I'd have a Honda though, eww... That and I'm a slut when it comes to musical instruments, so all of the money saved goes towards that.

Just do a 1mz swap and be done with it! tongue.gif

I washed mine last night, and proceeded to put it under its blanky for the night because it was too dark to see the final result tongue.gif

Today I'm planning to order crystal front indicators to go with my projectors. I'm still umming and arring on whether to get the rain guards or not... I can get them used for $140 shipped from Japan, but I am supposed to be saving for a 6 month overseas exchange at the start of next year (which I need $10-15k for!) and I am spending too much on my car tongue.gif

Also... I found a presumably genuine TRD carbon fiber look facia kit with the air vent surrounds too for $125 plus shipping near me... I don't know, I want it cause its TRD, but I think I like the black more tongue.gif

It's a terribly tempting proposition. Maybe I can find a rear-ended Camry/Solara for cheap. tongue.gif

the other day I installed a cutout turn-down and man does the turbo whistle now, cutout used to blow at the underbody and lost some of the whistle you would expect..

started wiring up the water/meth kit and made some repairs to a wrc hood spoiler I picked up from a member.

I installed my brand new TRD springs that I've been sitting on for the past year. Considering whether or not to pick up some 7th gen rims. And tomorrow morning cleaning my celi.

Well that's silly, why would you sit on them when you car could have all this time? laugh.gif

I'm contemplating upgrading wheel size myself. Though I'm unsure if the handling gains will outweigh(see what I did there) the unsprung weight gained. I don't need to make it any slower. tongue.gif

Plan is to finish bolting on all the parts and stuff the engine back in by the end of the day. Well, That's the plan anyway.

I've seen a set of 7GC GT-S rims go for under $200, no tires, but most people selling with tires the tires will be roasted anyway.

It does not make that much of a difference. I was running Enkei RS7's at 17x7 +45 with 215/45/17 tires. Gripped like a treefrog around corners and still allowed wheelspin off the line. I wouldn't go any higher than 205 in width if I were to do it again though. My next setup will be 195/45/16, which should feel just about right.

You have to find a good balance of grip and size to allow for acceleration.

I wasn't going any bigger than 16", as I don't care for the big wheel and thin sidewall look. Even with the monster truck sidewall of the 14's it grips well. Though I would like a 16" to help fill out things.

I'd do it. I didn't think 15 to 16" would be very noticeable, but it is much nicer. Ride quality suffered very slightly on rough roads, but not enough to cause concern. If you can pick up some 7th gen GTS alloys go for it smile.gif

AND today I... Had fun in my Celica! I kept it under its car cover from when I polished it on Saturday night so when I uncovered it it looked stunning, then I had some 'fun' ( wink.gif ) driving to Uni! biggrin.gif Was a great morning smile.gif

Since getting to uni and spending class time browsing the classifieds, I may have found a '95 ZR Celica manual in white for my mate wink.gif

Today I...
Received a package in the mail:

It was my Spats:

They don't have the best paint work (they have buffs and marks), but I have over 500ml of paint left from the skirts so I'm gonna repaint them biggrin.gif

Would like some GT-S wheels, but it seems they're hard to come across around here. I'd been contemplating the 16" wheels off the Pontiac Grand Am and Sunfire since they use the same bolt pattern and offset. That and they're a dime a dozen where I live.

Off a Sunfire

Off a Grand Am

The three spokes remind me of the GT-4 wheels to a degree.
