Glad we have the same line of thinking, I did my emblem in black too. Nice paint, the sig captures the improvements you've made in the "face" succesfully.

Thanks.
Actually the emblems are purple :3 lol

Haha I swear I started a trend here with the plastidip!

Looks good. Can't wait to see the pearl results. Sucks on the sprayer. Where did it break at? Mine does feel slightly cheap, and when trying to remove the beater it sometimes feels its going to split apart. Been putting veggie oil on the thread so I don't have to twist it so hard. Next step...wrap duct tape around it.

Lol, i had planned to dip back when dyc was offering the yellow Wagner sprayer like a year ago but was too scared to follow thru. BUT you did give me the courage to take the leap smile.gif

I fixed the gun issue. It was some dip that dried in the vaccum hole that formed a mini plastidip cork, lol.

Damn, nice Celica dude.
I was considering wrapping my car in matte white, but after seeing your results I will be research the dip subject.
I am a big fan of the DYI and exterior paint. So my idea was if I damage the fender or something, I would simply fix it up and re-wrap instead of going to someone for a paint job.

And I run into a wall today while backing up. Such a big dent in my rear right above the wheel. frown.gif

Can you hit me up with some prices?
How much was the gun and can it be replaced with a normal spray gun and a compressor?
How much did you pay for your current stage, as I am not going with clear coat and pearl, just white matte?

Thanks. smile.gif

Yes you can replace the gun with a regular one. Plastidip sprays on like paint and dries up like rubberish plastic which is removable.

may i suggest, go to ebay and search scrap leather, you will be surprised, i did my door cars in real leather.

Thanks. When I was getting supplies and what not I bought 2 different threads, one heavy duty thread and one even thicker but it kept breaking about halfway through the stitch rolleyes.gif

So I ended up with the first thread, but after it was all said and done I like the way it came out. Adds some accent but doesn't say "look at me, look at me" lol

Sweet, I'll have to look up some scraps on ebay! biggrin.gif

Also, new shift knob!

Hot damn thats a pretty solid deal..

Just paid most of June's bills early so I'll give it a looksy in a week or two, maybe start cranking out some goods wink.gif

Plus I still gotta save some extra cash to get more emblems made, since there has been recent demand for them lol.

so much better without the wood smile.gif

Serious question, what technique did you use to wrap the shifter surround? I have tried this so many times and really struggle with the sloping bit, are you heating teh wrap and pulling in from the middle?

Thanks.

Yeah, I used a heat gun. Used an exacto to cut an X from corner to corner BUT leave some space so that when you pull and tuck you don't have have an uncovered spot. I misjudged my cut and had to try an blend a piece in.. You can kind of see in the far side of surround in the last pic smile.gif

Smkr3w - thank you, I persevered and got a near perfect result smile.gif Totally owe you on this as nearly did the old 'cut a template and ignore the dippy bit' method which I would never have been happy with biggrin.gif
