So, I need everyone to convince me not to spend $500 on a Miata and put that money towards the Celica's interior. GO NOW. redface.gif

DAMN YOU ALL!!! This is not helping the situation at all, you're supposed to be supportive! tongue.gif It is terribly tempting. I'm going to check it out though since they're literally a stones throw from my dad. Supposedly it needs a head gasket since it overheated one day going to work, but I've done some research and found overheating is somewhat of a notorious issue for them. If I can get a hold of my grandfather's compression checker I'll know for sure, but I know what to look for otherwise. Worst case scenario it's not like replacing the head gasket costs much anyhow. Decisions.

In other news, got a Dyno appointment made so I can see how many horsepowers my 5S is putting down before the swap, and dropped off the new flywheel to get resurfaced!

You can buy Miata's over there for $500 redface.gif That condition here would still cost $3-4k!

I would definitely do it. Celica daily and MX-5 project smile.gif

If the interior is in comparable shape as the exterior, jump on it. Fun, cheap, RWD, decent gas mileage. Then do an LS swap just because.

I say get the car, throw on the head gasket, clean it up and flip it for 1,500 then put the cash in your interior.

Yeah, I suppose I will then. As long as everything checks out anyhow. Called earlier and was going to leave a message, but their voice-mail is full. That's ok I know where they live anyway, just thought I'd be polite and call first. tongue.gif Even if it does really end up being the head gasket, still under $100 in parts. Sure, why the Hell not. It will give me something to tinker with that isn't my daily.

The important question is, can I shoehorn a V8 into it though? tongue.gif

So I pose a question. Should I do a full polished aluminum, or do the centers in white with a polished aluminum lip? As I'm stripping these, I kind of like how the bare aluminum looks against the sunlight and with the purple lugs...

What do you guys think?

I say fully polished, I can't stand the polished lip thing.
