Thanks. Now lets get back to this topic.
All creations aspires from an idea. Im still researching and so far the problem isnt the engine but in fact the transmission. The only cars Ive found so far which has a ME4WD setup is a Ford RS200 or a Lancer Delta. Both old rare but not impossible to source in the UK. However, as its an american engine Im choosing, it would be nice if some helpful people can suggest an american car with a mid engine 4wd setup preferably 5 years and older which cane mate with a Chevy big block. |

No, your biggest problem is you still think this is feasible. For what this would cost you, you could go buy a Dodge Viper or a Chevy Corvette and have more than 644 HP. Edit. I sound abit abrupt in my last reply. Point is. if I wanted to buy a fast car. Id buy a fast car. Its not about cost but more about the adventure. I have what it takes, the tools and man power to do so. Im the type of guy who want to build a Rwd Mini ute simply cos its cool. So thinking outside the box, limitations of feasibilty and cost aside. What american car has a mid engine 4wd setup? why in every post someone has to prove themselves to everyone here and fight their way through the rhetoric. for now on lets just always assume...(I know there are easier options and yes i know its probably a waste of time)... so now that, thats out of the way for life from every new post onward please just answer the **** question, instead of seeing if the guy or gal has the guts to stand up to bullies lol just felt like addressing that And oh yea KUDOS to yellowchinaman for another fine standup.... Ray, I applaud you for the endeavor. As for the negative talk, I'm not an optimist but I keep it off the forums. It's okay though, Bitter is not a 6gc member anyway.

Sorry, I'm a realist. If you want mid engine high HP AWD, go buy a retired Group B rally car. If you want a V8 AWD, go buy an old Volvo S80.
Here's what's going to happen, as I've seen it time and time again. Everyone is going to jump up and down and clap their hands. This thread will stay active for maybe 2 weeks tops, then will fall down into the depths of the forums, getting bumped once in a while. In a few months I'll come and bump it asking for updates and the OP will never give them because there are none to give because this project is nothing more than a wet dream. We've all had them, sometimes we've made threads about them. Then reality sets in. I wanted a 7A-GE in my Corolla. Wasn't feasbile. Even though the 7A-GE has been built numerous times it's still not a feasible engine for 90% of Celica/Corolla owners because of the cost of the parts and random weird custom bits needed like timing belts from a Porsche that must be changed every 30K miles or the custom exhaust work, mounts, ecm tuning, wiring, etc. AND THIS IS A PROJECT THAT'S BEEN DONE and documented before. He's off into lala-dream land there with this one. It's akin to saying that you're going to put a piercing through your left kidney, other people have piercings and it's all just flesh right? No, there are serious technical and safety hurdles. As I said, to do this correctly he's looking to build a race car tube chassis and just plaster the 6GC body on the outside as decoration. As a business venture it's a piss poor investment, the money sunk into it will never be recouped, as a personal venture it's an irresponsible use of the business resources which should be invested towards turning a profit and not a wet dream car project. Argue all you want, my prediction will come true as I've seen it hundreds of times on dozens of forums. -------------------- |

No doubt. But whats wrong with that? Its an open forum for open discussions. People talk about ideas all the time but it doesnt mean people have to go through with the ideas. If I needed a business consultant, I would turn to a consultant.
If this was something I am to do, it certainly wouldn't be an investment or irresponsible for me to use my own resorces in my own time at my own costs because at the end of the day I pay for my own materials, parts and labour. Remember this is a discussion and a hobbie. It could take a few years to do or it may never happen at all. But hey, this is a discussion of ideas and so what if it never happens? Did you know that 10 years ago people only dreamed of production cars being able to reach 200mph? The first Bugatti Vayron was built at a loss never to profit but to prove a point? Im not on a crusade here to prove a point nor am I looking to get into the history books but I do have questions which Id like answers to and there's nothing wrong with asking. |

Your question was answered.
just put a 2JZ in there. it will fit No it wont. Not horizontally. Regarding money, I think ill be making most of the things up so besides the lump, everything else is just aftermarket tuning parts. So back to what V8 will mate the E145? How about the 1UZFE? No its not possible for a 1UZFE to fit http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm...ns/42544/page1/ The 1UZ is a pretty compact engine, you'd be straying towards the mini-V8's with V6 like displacement and power and since a V6 will fit and give similar if not better power it's all null and void to want a V8. Ergo, the question was answered on page one and now this is just a wet dream stroke fest. Which is fine, but don't masquerade it like you're going to build it if you're just asking to ask. -------------------- |

Nothing wrong with asking at all Ray. I for one am interested in the idea and theory of a v8 in 6gc for one it's different and we all know how much I like to be different. And two, to see something new and exciting, something that after all negativity and non-beliefs becomes a reality and a head turner. After all this is only a forum filled with questions and ideas after all and look how we as tuners have come so far already with the 6gc. -------------------- From Japan to Texas my st202 follows me.

See, now you're headed in the right direction. Rather than trying to make a FWD uni body into an AWD mid engine, build the chassis around the drive train then tack on the body panels.

I'm sorry Timdog1720, do you have anything else to say? Don't you have an engine to be installing or are you still gussying it up with pretty paint?

QUOTE http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...%3AAAQ%3AUS%3A1 Hello, These kits have a few different spings, drill bits, & other micsellaneous parts that go in the valve body. This comes with 11 pages of instructions to make all of the modifications. All changes are just inside the pan, so it doesn't need to be out. Thanks, Hello, I'm new here and I have a 1993 Geo Prizm 7A-FE with the A245E transmission. I haven't found any good iinformation about that shift kit and someone suggested that I try asking about it here since I do have the same drivetrain as the '94 Celica and possibly some '95 Celicas. Does anyone here know anything about it or have any opinions? This summer I am due to drop my trans pan and clean the filter/magnets and check the clutch packs and bands, I plan on doing this along with the 120K timing belt and putting on a new waterpump (I'm not sure how long they typically last on the 7a-fe but better safe than sorry I would think). wow even you at one point asked for someones opinion This post has been edited by timdog1720: May 27, 2013 - 3:16 PM -------------------- Always fast and going for the look......

Who here has refreshed their timing belt and done transmission maintenance vs who here has put a V8 engine into a Celica? Let's see, I can count the latter on the hands of a quadruple amputee. Yes, I asked questions, but I also do my own homework before asking as to weed out the outlandish and infeasible. Let's look at Google shall we? https://www.google.com/search?q=V8+Celica&a...mp;channel=fflb Now narrow it down some more. https://www.google.com/search?num=100&c...erp.wHoVstBh1sI And see what happens there? If you read through the pages returned as results you begin to understand (for yourself) why choosing to put a V8 engine into a 6th generation Celica isn't a feasible project. Now, note that I say feasible and not impossible. There's the key difference. You say people like me are why this forum is dying? No, people like me are why it's not dying. Someone gets this grandiose idea, they start hacking stuff up, days turn to months, progress grinds to a halt, they quit and buy a different car. If you keep your expectations in the realm of feasibility you'll be much less disappointed by the outcome. Say you have dreams of making your USDM ST204 into a ST205, that's reasonable and feasible with the needed dedication, however how many actually fully go through with it? How many drop in the 3S-GTE and are satisfied with the results then sell it for an Evo or WRX? Setting your goals in the realm of the possible and feasible and then seeing your project through to the end are what keeps a car alive, not putting your head in the clouds and being forlorn when all you see are...clouds. Oh, and for the record I never did do the trans work or timing belt. I didn't have the time or money or balls to dive into the transmission when I owned the car and the timing belt was beyond my tool set at the time. If I still had the car as a second or third car I'd love to dump my time and effort into it, but sadly the uni-body near the rear suspension links was rotting away and then once the transmission began to slip into neutral I decided it was time to part ways. I'm very happy with my current Celica and thoroughly satisfied with the hours of love I have poured into the suspension. Devoting my time and a minor amount of money towards the car has for me been well worth it. I set a simple goal and followed through. Would I love to go nuts and do all sorts of things, yes I would. But I know if I set my self up to fail my own goals I'll become disenfranchised with the car and want to move onto something else. Relentless x2 If you can't help in a positive way, then why bother wasting all this effort trying to put down someone who has an idea? At least he seems to have the tools and resources to do the work, unlike a lot of other dreamers. Just my 2 cents but hey... -------------------- QUOTE (madbeardo @ Mar 27, 2013 - 8:17 PM)
When said about modification I didn't mean the ones made by man. What I said was that it might have modified after being affected by a certain force. |

What a bunch of whiny pu$$ies.
This is a stupid idea overall... so i'mma cuss and get this post closed. V8 in a Celica... it's been done. google it. Turning a celica into a mid ship... if you have to ask on a forum... you can't do it. Is it possible... sure... throw a load of cash on anything and it's possible. There are jet engine cars out there... amphibious cars... you name it. Whether or not you can do it has NOTHING to do with what people think about it on a web forum... especially if you're toying with retarded ideas. Hey... I got one! V12 in a Celica... with M3 headlights and Lambo tails... and 6 wheels... converted to a semi truck, with a PTO just in case you need to power a tiller... cause it'll be a unique snowflake (i'm so cool)! Originality works both ways. Prove me wrong... do it and reply here with your finished MR V8 Celica and i'll take back everything I said. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl...
