Its extremely easy to take off, and honestly as an excuse to do it, the gasket is pbly rotten out and needs a good cleaning under there (my paint was wearing away from all the dirt and grim under there and actually rubbed off where the gasket rotted away).

I'm trying to find a duckbill to buy, I'd love to put one of those on.

I would have to agree, Whats the point in heaps of power if at the first turn you have to slow down to 30km/h just to turn...?

Personally I prefer power, even the worst handling of cars handle fine on the roadways doing the posted speed limit. The only time you get to really utilize handling in a remotely legal sense is turning onto other roads or off the interstate at speed. Then again the only time you get to utilize power in a legal sense is when you're pulling onto the interstate or passing some idiot. So either way, meh. Ideally you have a car that has both, then you get the best of both worlds.

Personally I prefer power, even the worst handling of cars handle fine on the roadways doing the posted speed limit. For me, the Celica is the perfect balance... Since I will be speed limited to 100 for the next two years at least, and the fact that I am not going to be street racing, I don't need a fast car... One of the main reasons I haven't bothered with performance mods... Some may call it rice but I would rather have a pretty car than an overly powerful one that I can't legally utilize...
In the end everyone will have a different requirement for what they want though tongue.gif So each to their own smile.gif

I've been on both sides of the field and power is more useful most of the time. The 3000GT I had was a good blend of the two, that and my Supra was as well. There're plenty of idiots to pass, not so many roads where you can't drive down it safely at the posted limit. I like a good handling car though, taking turns without body roll is nice. Passing idiots and getting up to speed quickly is a wonderful thing though, much more useful in a day to day basis. Though the other side of the coin is that cars like the Celica also have the benefit of good gas mileage. So, really depends on your wants and needs. I got the Celica for the mpg, which was totally against every other car I've ever owned. A lot of the reasons for me disliking aspects of the car have a lot to do with that. Had I owned nothing but lower power cars before, I'd most likely have no problems with it at all. Once my brother gets his Maxima straightened out I'll probably put it up for sale again. I'm terribly indecisive though. You think I'm bad with cars you should see with musical instruments or women. tongue.gif

For me, I was looking at a mid to late 90's car to be my first car and mini project car... The Celica just fell into my lap, and out of all the other cars available in my price range at the time it was by far the best looking car...
I have only experienced driving my mums Mitsubishi Nimbus (People Mover), My Dad's Mazda 2 and my Pop's Pulsar and Elantra, plus the few cars I test drove on the way to getting the Celica... All of which were 4 cyl... smile.gif

Out of all of them, the Celica felt the best to drive in terms of fun and taking corners and both the Elantra and Nimbus had the best ride (for long trips)... smile.gif

The Celica ST is probably the best economy car ever, I will give it that. They are very nice looking cars, in fact SS-III and GT-Four aside they look much faster than what they really are. I suppose that could be another problem in and of itself. All of the cars I've had have been high output 6 and 8 cylinders, so I've been spoiled by having power at demand. One does not simply just stop having power and be ok with it. tongue.gif

What's sad is when I think about it they've all had twice to thrice the power. Though not having to throw lots of money into feeding it is nice. See, this is all Toyota's fault. Had they just given us the SS-III I could be perfectly content, well close enough anyway perhaps. tongue.gif

with the celica being my first car, after driving my dad's kia rio I think it has plenty of power for a sub rural/city car!

Guy accross the road from me has an Oldish Kia Rio, he always tells me he wants my car >.<
