Shes down to go and super excited about it. depending on times we will probably leave really early sunday morning like 3-4am she can sleep on the way there. I cant wait to go to my first 6gc meet too.

You should just head out there the day before and spend the day at monterey & santa cruz, im sure you two will enjoy a mini vaca. Then you would'nt be too tired the day of the meet. Thats what i did when i went to toyotafest in LA this year :-)

It sucks having to drive I-5 for a car meet. You'll wash your car all pretty before you leave and arrive with hundred of bugs all over the front kindasad.gif

I totally agree. Long drives are tiring, better to get fully rested and do some sight seeing with your girl. Once a month I drive 7hrs then go straight to work, I am used to it but I still get tired once in a while.

Yup! Unless you wanna drive behind a truck and let it shield your car against bugs tongue.gif

Just last week I drove from ohio to the bay area stopping only for gas and food. It was 2,500 miles and took 37 and a half hours. Now I feel that driving to so-cal and back is doable in one day without getting too tired laugh.gif

I may be able to do the 28th. My girlfriend is off sundays and mondays so it would be nice to travel somewhere other than socal. Shes a really good photographer too so if we do attend we can get some good pictures. Were going to be coming from San Diego. I will need to know the meet times and all so we can plan our long drive up accordingly. Ill talk to her about this today and let you guys know. This will be my first 6gc meet too.

depends on when we can leave. shes requesting saturday off. so it really depends on our mood and check in times at the hotel when we find one. probably the 101 she'll love the scenic route

Well if you take the 101 and if you never been to SPLASH in Pismo Beach you need to try there clam chowder!!!! ITS HELLA GOOD! and then finish it off with some tri-tip sandwichs at FIRESTONE GRILL in San Luis Obispo. ITS HECKA GOOD! biggrin.gif and if your a vegetarian just keep on driving!

Any updates?

I'm guessing 28th of July is the set date and seems like Manresa State Beach will be the bbq spot. Where should we rendezvous at or should we just go straight to the bbq spot and cruise afterwards? I'd say we should find a rendevzvous point and cruise around for a bit then head to the bbq spot and chill there. Anyone familiar with the area enough to know a good route to cruise around? I know for sure highway 1 is going to be super busy. Like always. Well be tough for all of us to keep together.
