i swapped a motor from a 1998 toyota celica into my 1994 celica, the engine is running but in neutral when i try to rev it up it revs up very slow almost like its bogging down and lacking power, motor ran perfect before i put it in. any sugestions?

Probably missed a vacuum line when you swapped the engines.

Was about to say, there're quite a few differences in OBDII and OBDI. Exactly what those are I can't tell you, but someone here can.

Obd2 was created to help with emmissions. Just swap out the intake manifold for the obd1 manifold. It should fix your problem. Unless you damaged a sensor while putting newer used engine in.

There were vac line differences between my 94 and 95 5sfe just because one was fed spec and the other was cali spec. You also have to know if there was a difference between those too.

so i took it for a drive yesterday and the exhaust sounds way different then what it used to and it is is making a loud noise from the intake like a mis fire almost and has litterally no pick up its lagging really bad, is this something that could be cause by vacuum lines?

no this sounds like something way worse. which distributor did you use? the donor engine came right out of donor car into the transplant car correct?

Did you mess up the timing?

yes it came right out of the donor car but i had to swap the distributor from the obd 1 motor and the wiring harness from the obd 1 motor for it to run, can bad timing cause really bad engine lagg? its to the point where i put my foot down in first gear and hardly moves anywhere...

id double check timing,

if vacuum you'd notice the idle.
