So Yeah as the topic suggests, I am thinking of getting a HID kit for my projectors...
I was thinking of getting this off ebay: eBay HIDs Anybody used this kit before? I am thinking of getting the 6k version, so that the light is white, but not so blue as to draw attention to it. I have done research on both here and on other websites, and so much information is just conflicting So, my questions are: 1) Will this kit fit? I am pretty sure it will since the Kit is H1 and so too is the Projectors... 2) How do these kits get installed? I am pretty sure it's straight forward, but I would rather be 100% than screwing it all up... 3) Where is the best place to mount the ballast (I want it pretty much hidden when the hood is open) I'll add more as I think of them lol... I do a lot of night time driving, so these should be beneficial and help me a bit... Any help is appreciated thanks I am new to this HID thing, and still learning lol Gotta start somewhere -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |

I have these in mu UK Celi but I dont have projectors so can only give partial advice
I have H1 in my stock headlights, perfect fit They are plug and play, you plug the power running into the stock light into the ballast, the ballast is then connected to your HID bulbs I haven't hidden my ballast's as they aren't untidy, you don't get a massive amount of cable to drop them down very far either but you can easily just tuck them in somewhere and zip-tie or screw to secure Also, mine are 6k but I'm still known as the guy with the blue headlights....just a thought for you |

Here it is 'illegal' to put HID lights into a car that was not originally equipped with them... The whole law is very grey so I can get away with it if I do get caught, but that's my reasoning to hiding the ballast It is also Illegal for us to have blue as a colour on the outside of the car, so 6k is too blue -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |

Yea. 6k, you'll notice the blue in it. If you want white just get 5k.

4,300-4,500K will have the most usable light anyway. Silly97 is right, 6,000K is pretty noticeably blue.

Havn't been able to find a local kit which includes 5000k bulbs...
There is a guy selling 5000k bulbs only locally for $15.. So I will probably get 4300k and if this is too yellow, buy the 5000k bulbs from the other guy -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |

I installed 4300k HID's in my projectors this weekend. They're bright white without a hint of blue. Looks amazing.

I was looking for 4300k but couldn't find any so I went with 4900k and it still has a slight blue.

DDM Tuning seems to be good for those in the States. Rather or not they'd ship internationally I don't know. Around 4,500K is about as white as it gets, with variation between companies. The only way to know for sure is to see them in person. I agree though, definitely go with what looks whitest as it's the most usable light.

Thanks everyone, for the photos and the info
I am going for the 4300k set, buying it today or tomorrow hopefully I can't have any tinge of blue in the light because installing 'aftermarket' HIDs is illegal and a defect here... This is also my reasoning to hiding the ballast, which I should easily be able to do Don't know with you, but I love my 8000k That look really cool man 8000k would be way too blue for here, Police would notice it straight away This post has been edited by rentaspace: Jul 16, 2013 - 6:16 PM -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |

4300K is the OEM colour for most cars, should be good to go.
