As many of you know I recently purchased a set of JDM door visors on eBay, from the seller jdm_used_parts. What arrived was no where near the right shape for the st202 (or our st204's), and had scuff and other markings on it which showed it was NOT the one in the listing (as stated on the ad). I later found that the seller reused that same ad and same pictures 2 additional times after I purchased mine!!! (So that obviously proves he was lying, right?).

On top of this face, they were terribly packaged in some bent cardboard and the two plastic ends were sticking through tape on each one of the box - there weren't even end caps on an international package! Not surprisingly, the end chipped off. Then the saga began... enjoy tongue.gif

YES there is a lot of text here, but it is a good read tongue.gif You can just skim it tongue.gif

Dear jdm_used_parts,

Dear JDM Used Parts,

I received my window visors this evening. However, they do not appear to be the model that I bought and paid for. I ordered a set for a st202 Celica off a '98 model - However, these appear to be off the newer ZZT231 model (I cannot confirm this, I only know that they do not follow the shape of my st202 window). I also have reason to believe that the items received were not the ones pictured in the listing (as the listing led me to believe I was buying), as there was damage to the items that was not visible in the pictures (deep scratches).

I'm not sure of the procedure, but there was also some minor damage to the item that was not described - several small cracks in the items, and one small chip from the end of the plastic. The latter was most likely caused in transit, the former could have been either caused in transit or been damage not described (I specifically asked if there was any cracks before I purchased).

It is too dark to show pictures confirming the wrong item was sent (dark outside where car is). I have some pics showing the cracks and chip that were taken as the item was being unwrapped.

I believe the only real option at the moment is a full refund, including postage costs, as I believe the item was both not in the condition described, or as shown in the pictures provided, or for the right model of car. There is also the matter of the minor damage that possibly occurred in transit.

Please let me know how you would like me to progress with this concern.

Regards,
Joshua.

Hi,

as you told it damage and cracked,it was not before shipping.even that item is for the same st202/205,and replacement you will get for st202/205 door visor after giving me damage report.that everything is written in the auction.

Dear jdm_used_parts,

I have submitted the package to the local post-office and filled out the appropriate paperwork. It is now going in to be assessed.

However, I must insist that you have sent me the wrong package! Regardless of any minor damage in transit (And it was only very minor), this item does not fit on the ST202! I have attached pictures, and you can CLEARLY see that the window visor is a different shape to the window (I have had this same type of item before on my car, and I know how they should fit). I believe you may have accidentally shipped me a set for the '99-'05 model Celica, not the '94-'99 model ST202.

Also, I must contest that the item I received was NOT the one that was pictured. I have more photos here that show the mounting clips are in different positions, and there were scratches not obtained in shipping that would have showed in the third image. I would also like to add that you have used the same images in at least 3 listings, and all listings say that the items pictured are what you will receive. One of these is still active on eBay, so you are claiming that the item on that ad is both available for sale and in my possession - logically this is impossible.

So at this point in time I can only be led to believe that you have made multiple mistakes, or are being dishonest with me.

I have returned the item to the post office as requested and now request that the appropriate part (For a st202 Celica!) be sent out to me express via EMS, after sending me pictures to guarantee condition, or a full refund. What happens between the postal insurance and yourself is not my concern - the items I received were 'significantly not as described' and I believe I am entitled to a refund. I paid for express shipping and do not believe I should be left waiting whilst you try and fix your own mistakes.

Regards,
Joshua

Dear jdm_used_parts,

I have been waiting from a reply from the post office - this came in the mail yesterday. It says that the rest is between you and the postal service in Japan - I am no longer involved in the matter.

Josh.

Dear jdm_used_parts,

I trust that you received my email with the details last week?

It has now been approximately 1 month since my 'express' order, and I still do not have my product or a definitive plan for a replacement. I am just letting you know that if I don't have a replacement product in my possession or a full refund by the end of next week, then I will have no choice but to open an eBay / PayPal dispute to get my money back (As I only have a 45 day window to start those proceedings from the date of sale, and I have ample proof to show that the product I received was not the product described or pictured).

Please keep me up to date with your progress.

Kind Regards,
Joshua

Dear jdm_used_parts,

I will wait until the 12th of July, but I cannot wait longer than the 45 days or I will be unable to open the dispute if required.

I am really sick of this now, and I don't want the visors any more. I wanted them to have on a car show that was two weeks ago and I am still waiting. I have no need for them any more, and I would just like my money back. So please when the claim comes back just deposit a refund into my PayPal account.

Regards,
Joshua

Dear jdm_used_parts,

Hi,

Just a friendly reminder that I will be lodging a PayPal dispute this Friday (It is currently Tuesday night here) if this matter is not resolved earlier, with a full refund.

I understand that you are waiting on the outcome from the post office, but this is taking a VERY long time and to be honest it doesn't change the necessary course of action. I received the wrong item, so I will require a refund regardless of the post office's decision.

Kind Regards,
Joshua

Dear jdm_used_parts,

Well today is the day. I will be filing my PayPal dispute sometime after I finish work at 1:30pm today (roughly 13 hours away). I have given you two weeks notice of this, and it has been approximately 5-6 weeks since I made my purchase.

You already have full rights to any money received from the post office, and I am happy to relinquish any rights to the actual item if the claim is refused. So you have no reason to continually stall me.

I have plenty of proof of incorrect item and damaged item, so I believe the PayPal case should be short and straight forward. If you would like to avoid having that on your record, please feel free to refund me so I can move on.

Kind Regards,
Joshua.

*Seller cancelled PayPal dispute resolution and immediately escalated it to a claim and gave the generic you return item to me I give you refund, include tracking number, obviously knowing the automated process and that I couldn’t do anything since I had already returned it,*

Dear jdm_used_parts,

Did the post office decline the insurance, or have you just not heard back yet?

In any case, how am I supposed to post the item back; I surrender it to the post office at your request and they said that Since it was EMS I was no longer involved in the proceedings and the matter was between EMS and you?

- *buyer*

Sent Date: 15-Jul-13 23:41:12 AEST
Dear jdm_used_parts,

Still no reply?

Since you started a countdown timer from PayPal by escalating our dispute rather than negotiating and waiting for the Post office you have made things very difficult.

The problem is that you essentially have custody of the visors... When YOU requested for them to be returned to the post office they became your property again. I cannot retrieve them without your consent, and any refund will be processed to you.

So, in reality, there is no reason why you can't give me my refund now.

I called the post office today, and they told me what I told you before, the claim is now SOLELY a dispute between YOU and EMS. I am not a party in these negotiations. From what I have been told though, it is pretty much a given that as soon as you fill out the right paperwork you will be paid out.

So this is back in your ballpark again, you have the ownership rights to the visors and have right to the refund which should be paid out without issue.

If you do want me to request the cancelation of the insurance dispute, and get the item back and send it to you then I would request to be reimbursed for the return postage too, which would be fair as this has all been one huge mistake on your behalf.

At the moment I am one VERY unsatisfied and angry customer - I didn't want to have to use this but may I remind you that you currently have 100% positive feedback and my level of feedback given will be directly related to the outcome of this issue, so I suggest for the prosperity of your own business that you try to follow up this matter with your post office immediately.

If you can just get the money out of the post office then there will be no loss of money for either party here and we can move on happily.

Please keep in regular contact with your progress.

Regards,
Joshua

At the moment that claim is my only protection - and the money should be held in your account... As it is MY money, and I kindly request it back.

Consider it some motivation, the sooner the claim gets resolved the sooner we both get our money back.

Please keep me updated.

*Left Feedback*

After all of this, I decided to leave him neutral feedback... there was evidence on his feedback (although 100%) that he regularly manipulates people to get good feedback, and was generally dodgy, and I certainly wasn't leaving him a positive review after this debacle. I tried to word it as accurately as possible... but he didn't like it... tongue.gif

I then immediately got this abuse;

Hi,

you are not a man.after getting refund, you have done this, before you told that you don,t want to use this feed back option.is it fair??? you are not keeping your promise.even you have no right to use this option after getting your money back.

By this stage I was VERY sick of his cr@p.

Sent Date: 25-Jul-13 23:44:55 AEST
Dear jdm_used_parts,

Sorry, what? I did not leave negative feedback. I did not ruin your 100% rating. I left NEUTRAL feedback, in light of the fact that I was VERY UNHAPPY but you eventually (after more than 6 weeks with my money) refunded so I chose not to leave you NEGATIVE feedback.

You can get off your high horse - this whole debacle was YOUR fault, and reading through your previous feedback it doesn't sound like this is the first time this has happened. If you do not want to deal with these problems maybe you need to re-evaluate your business logistics to ensure that you do not send out the wrong items.

Part of the eBay system is giving fair and honest feedback - just because I was eventually refunded does not mean that I do not have rights to leave any feedback that I wish.

You can try to clarify my feedback with a comment if you wish, but I have been completely honest. This was YOUR mess and all you did was pass blame to the postal service and make me do the leg work. I could have said many worse things, but I tried to be fair and simple.

Lets not forget also that during YOUR mistake you have had no negative consequences whatsoever, yet I have had the expense of multiple drives to the post office (the big one, not the close one), phone bills for long phone calls to the postal service and have had to live without my money for a month and a half. You on the other hand, whose fault it was, got the money paid straight into you account from the post office and just had to click refund.... That is hardly fair.

Good night.
Joshua.

I just finished updating the posts, so they have changed around a bit now (It wouldn't let me post it all at once.... many many little edits) tongue.gif

But yeah, it was a bit of a pain but I ended up with a full refund and found another set for $22 instead of $105 XD

I'm just sorry now that I didn't leave the b@stard negative feedback and that he got his money back too (despite this was all his dodgy business practices, he wasn't left out of pocket a single cent!).

Yeah, I waited until I got my money back before I posted anything online, just in case he read it and changed his mind tongue.gif

In the end up the postal service paid for the damaged goods (even though it was his fault), so it was a simple process after that had been sorted. I would still never consider buying from this seller again though.
