Ahh ok. Well when I think replica, I think 100% carbon copy. Being you just want a GT with the 3S-GTE and ST205 body parts you shouldn't have that much trouble at all then. I remember seeing one on eBay some time ago, don't think it sold though. Haven't seen it listed again, so who knows. I want to say someone sold their swap on here for around $4,000 or so not too terribly long ago, it still needed some finishing work I think. Being you have a $8,000 budget might look into finding a shop to do the engine swap for you. Finding a GT with a good body and blown engine for around $1,000 shouldn't be too terribly hard. Then you have about $3,000 in a front clip, then whatever the cost of the swap and body work you can't do yourself. Odds are that'd be faster than waiting around for someone to sell one they've swapped. I could do that, but i dint want to have to find a chassis, have it shipped or trailered to the shop (only shop I know of is ats or Dr tweaks which is 6 hours away) then wait 2-3 months, then have the body work done etc. I would much rather buy a completed clean swapped GT. A car that someone has finished, and decided to move on from. |

I foresee you waiting much longer than that waiting for someone to sell their swap that isn't a hack job. If it's a car you're planning on keeping it's worth doing yourself. Then you can make it exactly how you want it, and not have to settle. That's just my view on it anyhow. Trust me I know how you feel, I'd love to swap mine but it's too much trouble. So I've decided to just buy another car that better suits my needs and wants. I wouldn't know, but you might be able to arrange something with Dr. Tweak to find a donor car local to his shop so you don't have to ship a car to him. Once it's mechanically sound you can do the body work locally. Really I just wouldn't trust anyone selling their swap, unless they had paperwork proving it was done by a reputable shop. Even then you know they dogged the Hell out of it, otherwise they'd been happy with the 5S lump.

Look I get what your saying. I have a RB swapped Silvia that I did everything myself to, from the engine build to the suspension. I don't want to swap motors, wiring, etc again. I had a TT FD, and a few other toy cars. I just want exactly what the title says and I don't mind waiting. If nothing comes up the nothing comes up. Not a big deal.
It kinda seems like you think I'm a lost new kid on the block. This post has been edited by JuMPiiN: Aug 2, 2013 - 2:44 AM |

That's all fine and dandy then. I was just addressing the issue from all angles, initially it sounded like you wanted one as your next car and weren't considering anything else. Anyhow, good luck on your quest.
Heh heh, New Kids on the Block. Why do I even remember that... -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Never dd anything swapped and especially. Boosted. Learned that the hard way when I was 18. I daily a is350 now. I want a 6th gen since it was my first car and favorite car.
If someone wanted to trade there's for my Silvia coupe with a rb25/gt30 I might consider it depending on what there 6th gen looks like and. Condition. |
