Hey, guys, some of you know about my little project to make my Celica a bit more younger and unique looking. I spend a lot of time on these, experimenting with different things, failing and redesigning. Anyway, here is the finished project.

And a video:

Plexiglass lit with nine orange LEDs, almost flush with the mirror casing(pokes like 1mm).
If you don't like them, what would you change?
Would you consider buying them and more importantly, how much are you willing to pay for them?

Do the folding mirror functions still work, and did you re-wire from the side-markers up to the side-mirrors?

As for payment, good question. I'd be willing to send in my mirrors if the price is right!

Yes they fold and yes that's how it's wired. I use the same route as the stock wire for the electric motor runs.

Seems like you guys like them, but no one is able to come up with a price.

Buyers don't come up with a price, the seller does.
The questions you have to ask yourself:
How much do parts cost?
Will people ship me their mirrors or will I have to provide them?
What is my labor worth? (if you want to add in labor costs)

etc, etc

Price is really up to you, i may buy another set of 5th gens and send them out to you. Wouldn't be for another month or so, but they 5th gens are a little different. And it wouldnt be a big deal keep them as long as you need to figure it out.
Id say for a pair of 6gc mirrors I wouldnt want to pay more than like $50 to include the sipping. But I dont know the amount of work at you put in.

We live in different continents with different economy. For me $70 may be a quite big amount for that kind of mod, for some it's will be a no brainer for the look it provides for them.

Something around $50-60 is in my head after all materials and labor, without shipping and the mirror case. I might have to send a "new" pair to the customer, so he is not bothered with anything until they arrive- dissembling and driving his car with no covers. After they arrive, he mounts them and send me his old covers and I pay for them, it will be a win/win since I won't have to bother with going to junk yards looking for mirror cases. And another problem, they most likely won't sell me just the cover, but the whole mirror with the glass and motor assembly, which I don't need. But if someone doesn't send me back their old case, the price will be higher.
The whole complication comes from the fact that I am not selling a product, but rather a service.

I'm really interested, I want to do the same from a lot of time ('cause I want to eliminate turn signal from fenders, .. yes I'm in Europe) but never had time, and probably I will not able to do such a beatiful work.
I already have a second pair of mirrors (a power folding one) but never installed (they come a little cracked from ebay, without the relay wich I find later, and don't know if they could play).
So I'd prefer to buy a third one ready to plug and fully operating.
I'll email you.

Guys, I want some input from you. I made a poll, so you can vote.
Basically I am wondering how many LEDs should I put. I can do it, so there is almost no space in between them and it looks like an uniform line of light.
Or I can keep the existing design I have right now, 9 to 10 LEDs with space between them.
More LEDs will mean more time spend on labor and materials (slightly higher price), but it won't matter that much, what's important here is what the customer likes.

Recent tendence is line of light with no interruption, in signal but also in front, rear light and also in drl.
Audi style could be a reference, see the TT mirrors

Well, turn signals are supposed to be orange, but I guess I can do white too per request.

Have you given any thought to doing this with 5th Gen mirrors? Seems that would be outrageous on a 6th gen

Are you talking about these?

Or these?

I am not very familiar why there is a difference and I see a lot of 5th gens in my country with the first type.
But in the end I can do pretty much everything. 5th 6th 7th gen. smile.gif
I'll probably have a set for a 6th gen tomorrow, so I may have mirrors with blinker for sale in a few weeks. wink.gif
