So my car rides like crap. This after test driving Dustins car. I order the urethane bushings for the car from poland. So ill see if it makes a difference.
I just installed new kyb in the front. and have TRD springs. but if i go over a pot hole at slow speed or a speed bump, it feels like and old chevy nova. Just crap!!! I have st swaybars, and j-speed strutbar. but it rides like crap.... It did not use to ride like this. Oh and i have 16 inch rimes, and tires are not that low profile. So i decided to go one step at a time, and see what helps here. Would rather not do coilovers. will start with the urethane bushings, if you have any ideas shime in. I will also upgrade the end links, but one step at time... no im no drunk, just typing as i remember and too lazy to edit. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... How long has it been since you've driven it? Perhaps the suspension components got wonky while sitting. Ehh, maybe the tires are at a higher pressure than the last time you drove it? Tire pressure can make a conceivable difference.

ive checked tire pressure. Granted i dont drive it that much for that reason, dont like the ride. unfair because i compare to FRS, but i think other issues may affect it too, the tranny is giving me grief... but thats another story.

My other theory was that the FR-S has spoiled you. Nothing worse than a tranny giving you grief.

ok I got megan coilovers, I got twos r us endlinks front and back.
I got ST sway bars with poly bushings front only rear regular bushings. eibach rear camber kit. falken aziens 235/45/17 on 17x8 +48 all around enkei rp01 not rpf1 older version from 90s. that's suspension. brakes I got oem rotors with porter fields rs-4 pads all around. Avalon/lexus es300 twin piston calipers. in the front. oem rear calipers. getting stainless steel brake lines soon no body confirmed for me if the goodridge fits on non superstrut. engine mods- injen short ram intake. (sounds good lol) and honestly it is more responsive but hp gain didn't notice any. stock everything mostly but I just overhauled my motor with all new seals and belts and water pump from Toyota. exterior-oem door visors and hatch visor. and the wheels. my suspension is currently on softest setting and im planning on switching to swift springs for those megan coilovers for a better spring rate for the front and rear. most people do this mod not many people know about it. and also revalve all my coilvoers since megan doesn't 100% do it correctly. aside from all that I am a Toyota tech I get 50% on oem parts for any Toyota lexus or scion. so if anyone needs something they can ask me I can try and help them. if any other questions that might help go ahead and ask. and reason I didn't post any pictures is because lately I don't have time but ive been taking pictures of my car id love to share all my knowledge I love celicas. =D |

My other theory was that the FR-S has spoiled you. Nothing worse than a tranny giving you grief. especially when i put 6th gear in the celi it grinds like a bitch. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... "Rides like crap" may be a matter of opinion or needs more clarification or sometimes drivers are so used to OEM ride quality that they base their standards of OEM which is usually not the case when you upgrade to aftermarket suspension. I've had KYB + TRD Spring Setup back in 2005, and they were really awesome, never felt like it was dropped. not sure what you are feeling.

it ride like crap means, it will shake and rattle with every pot hole. Ive had a drop suspension since 2008, and changed the trd springs on 2010 - 11 ish... new kyb inserts 2011 and it never felt like the 2008 susp .
anyways ordered the bushings from poland. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I hardly log in anymore, last login Today Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOL

anything loose bolt and nut wise? im going to have to check. my best guess the shocks are bad quality, and maybe need to check tie rods. It all went sour after the sway bars, im guessing it put to much stress on the old suspension. Im still waiting on the poly susp from poland. so once i do that, ill check the rods, and end links, need an option between the kyb shocks and the koni shocks and cant find it. i mean koni shocks are great, but for 800 a set, i can do coilovers. but i cannot find a brand between those two, unless someone knows about one. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... kyb is a nice option. good ride quality. handles aftermarket springs well too. cheapest coilover set up would probably be megan.
