It pains me to tell all of you about what happened here because i'm heart broken, and I've hesitated to put this on here, but this is a wake up call for anyone with big dreams. Please always remember to document and record all of your transactions in the event that this happens to you. Let this be a lesson.

I was delivering a part for a recall from work in my car yesterday. I got done giving the customer their parts and started on my way back to work. Before I even got out of the neighborhood a car came flying in from the adjacent street onto the road that I was on at around 50-60mph, lost control, came into my lane, and hit me head on. I slammed on the brakes, and my car stopped right as there car plowed in to mine. Turns out it was a 16 year old kid who had just gotten his license...

And....Like the legend of the phoenix...I will try to rise her from the ashes.
She saved my life, and I intend to return the favor.

Side note: if you're a 16 year old kid that likes to drive like a bad ass, save if for the track, and get some real experience. the street is not your playground.

That sucks man... So you think you can fix it? It looks like the projectors survived, at least. The most important thing is that you weren't hurt. The car can be replaced.

This is why I dislike people. I fear for these types of situations because in your position, I would have had a very good reason to grind the kid's face against tarmac. Hurt my car, I hurt you.

Having said that, good luck with the resurrection.

Ow man, awful! Thank god you're allright yourself!

I hate those kiddies driving like crazy. They should be suspended for a long time.

Hope the ride is still straight and you're able to fix it. Good luck!!

Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! mad.gif I love your car, this isn't cool at all... Now I'm depressed, and mad. This is when the police would arrive at the scene to find a grown man wallowing on the ground in tears. All I know is that some kid's life is about to become miserable.

not the front end...glad you're alright though. I always approach these situations from the perspective that things could have been a lot worse. How is the engine???

As said above, very glad you are rebuilding... but from your first comment I am concerned that you will be funding it yourself.... was he insured?

Depending on the amount of the settlement, I'm thinking that the best course of action would be to buy another front clip, and rebuild the front end. That way I will be good as new, and have a spare motor.

Glad you're okay!
At least the car looks salvageable, headlights, splitters and fenders seem untouched.

Good luck in your rebuild man! Don't give up.

FENDERS AND SPLITTERS ARE GOOD, BUT EVERY SINGLE HEADLIGHT HAS BROKEN TABS.

Glad to hear. Losing a vanilla swap is one thing, losing a painstakingly rebuilt motor is something else all together. I wouldn't worry about the headlight tabs too much. You can reattach or rebuild them with this stuff:

Yikes! At least you're alright. My son had his license for two weeks, and was driving my car through the mall parking lot. A girl that had her license for about the same time crashed into the front side so hard, the motor mounts on the transverse V-6 were bent over about 4 inches. She had "Sexy Beast" spray painted all over her car, including the windows!!!

Hopefully you get what you deserve from the kid's insurance company. They don't like to pay. I worked as an insurance adjuster after graduating college, and my wife represents them in environmental cases. Be super aggressive, and threaten to file suit if things are going too slow. They do have a certain period of time to settle your claim, and like to use every day possible (short-term investments are how insurance companies make money). You can also call your state's insurance commissioner, as that tends to scare adjusters quite bit.

P.S. The kid will get his when his policy is cancelled, and he's moved into high risk for the next several years. That could triple his rates depending on your state.
