In all seriousness is this thread going somewhere? We are clearly divided. And not 1 side has come up with the holy grail answer.

Everyone has valid points. But no one is winning the debate. Looks more like a session of congress here.

Swap whatever you like and call it yours. Whatever it is, if you believe you make the right choice then go on with life. If you dont like it then swap again. Who cares? Unless its the person paying your bills...

Or else just list your car on ebay several times until someone buys it.

I do have a 1MZ swap in my MR2. I've also driven a BEAMs MR2. It's NOT a bad engine. It's fun. Just no torque. Reminds me of a Honda engine.

That's right, rack up more in listing fees that what the car is even worth.

In all honesty the best swap is the 1nzfxe. A blistering 110hp, and you can pick the motor up and place it in the car by hand. No need to mess with those pesky engine hoists.




It's also the only motor I've had where I can take it out without also removing the transmission.

only way i'd race smaay is if he had stock 1mzfe 98-00 camry or solora which produces 194-200 hp.

i would need to mix my fuel 91 octane and 100 octane to get a 94 octane mixture. then we can race. otherwise he will beat me. he's got a 3mz intake manifold.

lol this thread... if only there were a way to slap two 3s heads on a v6 bottom end it would be comparable, but until then no amount of technology is going to give a 2L the same powerband as 3-3.3L none. all you can do is utilize the displacement and make it more efficient. i mean even if you have a variable valve lift, variable valve timing, variable intake runner and variable compression technology all in one engine (lol that would be one hell of an engine to tune) you will not get a 2L to make 200lb.ft of torque at near 2,500rpm.

4age beats you, thats right 1.6l of furry. 500hp @ 40,000rpm 120lb tq @ 32,000rpm + cvt transmission = 240mph

It'd be as if Honda decided to use their non VTEC Civic and Accord engine in their sports car for the American market. For some reason Toyota thought they should do something along those lines.

sotck for stock, 7th gen GTS and integra GSR were equals, ITR's were a little faster.

WAAAAYYYY back in the day when i only had an AEM CAI and TRD exhaust, I was able to beat an ITR with an exhaust. For some reason my 7th gen was just a lil faster than most others.

Supposedly the TRD exhaust brought it up to 190hp.
