Just sitting here at work thinking...probably a stupid question as well, but has anyone tried a 3sge beams intake manifold on a 3sgte?

I know Sunny mixed and matched a BEAMS and a 3S-GTE for his build. The BEAMS throttle body comes to mind from his build, and I'm pretty sure the BEAMS exhaust cam is a bit more aggressive as well. I can't remember if he fitted the intake manifold or not though.

That's some damn good fitment ETA on hitting the road again? With winter coming up it will be difficult to set a particular time, but my goal is to have it up and running before x-mas. -------------------- |

Glad to see you keeping the car, everything seems to be going well so far! Keep the good work! Thanks man! Should be getting the car over to my Dad's shop tonight so that I can begin the enormous amount of welding tomorrow. -------------------- |

So it was finally time to have the car towed over to my Dad's house for finish welding. Wish I had towed it there in the first place, but you live and you learn.
Then it was time to clean up all of the weld points so that we could get strong welds in all the areas that were necessary. Used a grinder, and my trusty angled die grinder Then it was time to test fit the new frame. Everything lined up great so it was time to grind inside of the front right frame rail to attach a sleeve to weld on Then it was time to use some wood and a hammer to mock everything up for finish welding, along with some careful measurements and slide pins. After everything was lined up it was time to weld. Used stitch mode on the Miller Mig to sew it all up! And then it was time to test fit some body panels. -------------------- |

Yay!!!! I'm so happy things are starting to move forward for you. So are you keeping it a street car, or going with the track car route?

Like a boss. Good shyt dude Thanks man! Yay!!!! I'm so happy things are starting to move forward for you. So are you keeping it a street car, or going with the track car route? It's kinda gonna be a half and half. More on the track side, but still streetable. dang you guys at 6gc make these projects seem like a breeze. "oh i just totaled my car hmm i'll just weld here and there n done..." lol...it's not as bad as you think. A lot of it is having access to the right tools! Apparently my dad took a few pictures while I worked. So here those are. This post has been edited by bsamps4: Nov 11, 2013 - 6:54 AM -------------------- |

Great work! Any chance of a pic of the back of the bumper so i can see how the Radiator upper grill attaches? Great colour by the way! I'll snap a shot first chance I get. Since the car is at my Dad's place I'll have to get it Sunday after next because I will be out of town this coming weekend. I can tell you how it attaches in the meantime. There are two sandwich plates. One on top and one on bottom, and there are three popper clips that retain this plates and pinch them to the front bumper on those upper and lower plates. Fairly simple to remove if you have a very small screw driver that can squeeze between the plastic grill. And by the way, your car looks great man! Had a double take when I saw it first. Looks so much like mine! -------------------- |

thanks alas it's not turbo'd but maybe V6'd in the future!
I';ve ordered the plates from Toyota and got the clips from Ebay, so the plates go above and below the grill to be out of sight I presume? I did try body kit sealant but it just didn't stick to the plastic or paint so OEM it is. |

Once you get the plates it'll really stand out on how to put it all together. It can only be installed one way.
