Hey, so I have a chance right now to get the 7th gen wheels off of my brother's (sadly totaled) Celica. The only thing I would need would be new tires since the ones that the dealership put on them are waaay too big for our cars. They rubbed like no other when he cornered in his '94.
My question, especially to those of you that currently have or have had experience with 7th gen wheels, is what size is going to fit best without rubbing and also still has options for good all season tires? Mine is a '97 GT, stock suspension. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

On my 95 st coupe sitting at factory hieght.
running 205-50-16 up front and 245-50-16 out back Don't have any difference witbthe 245-50 out back than 205-50 all around Running falkens and ha he almost 11k miles on then and they are great in all weather conditions -------------------- 1974 Green Dart Swinger 360 4 BBL auto

No problems at all with 245 on 6.5" Rim? Nope non at all I actually like it with a slightly taller and wider tire in the rear Gives it a slight rake but not so much of one to affect handling Heres how it looks ![]() size of the rim is "Recomended" Like a 275-60-15 isn't supposed to work on a 15x6 and is supposedly not "safe" yet my father has run that combo for over 20 years with no problems at all and he drives the car hard too This post has been edited by 95Celica5Spd: Dec 13, 2013 - 10:54 PM -------------------- 1974 Green Dart Swinger 360 4 BBL auto

Reminds me of my coworkers car. He's running 245/60/15 on his lil Nissan stanza on a 7" rim. To answer the OP. To stay in factory spec. Run 205/50/16 all around. ![]() They're currently on brand new super treaded 205/65r16s and they are massive. Feels like a monster truck and the rub is just ridiculous. Haha. No clue what the people at that dealership were thinking putting those on there. |

I was kind of wondering about that today as well. Next thing I'm doing is the KYB GR2s and some lowering springs since mine are just completely shot. Just wasn't sure on how much I can drop before I start getting rubbing problems! Thanks again for your help! |

I was on some eBay AG springs. I think the drop was 1.75" in the rear and 1.25" in the front. not sure but it was a nice drop.
