Hi
I hope someone can help me, just got my first Gen 6 GT and my Interior courtesy light doesn't work at all, whether it is switched on or not. Both filaments look serviceable and the fuses look like they are all good also. In addition to this my ciggy lighter ring doesn't illuminate. Both the lights on the doors also do not work when opened. The speedo lights work as do the heater control lights, so my thinking is that it may be the items themselves but that's a lot of bulbs to go.

Many Thanks
Mumpy

Does your cigarette lighter have power? Not the light, but the plug itself. The dome light and cigarette lighter are on the same circuit. The door lights are totally different and may just be burnt out.

The switch in the door sill determine whether the door is open or not. When my interior light wouldn't turn on, I checked this switch. It's covered by a black rubber cover, and the screw itself is the grounding source. In my case, I unscrewed the piece, cleaned the hole to get proper grounding connection, and put it back together.

It seems unlikely that all these bulbs would suddenly stop working or burn out together especially if the fuse is fine.

Thank Guys for the help, have sorted it now it was a bit of everything.
The fuse had blown under the hood, the courtesy switch on the passenger side was not earthing and the dome light bulb has gone.
Is there a trick to the dome bulb as I have just crushed it trying to get in out?

Thanks again guys.

Late reply but you push in and twist, there is a metal nipple on it.

But...

Can anyone help me figure out why my dome light is SOOOO dim? Hard to see anything at night.

Dim bulb usually indicates either a bad bulb, or a bad connection. If you have a multimeter, you could check what kind of current/voltage you're getting from the socket.

I have an st, and I took my door pannels off , and found no wiring or socket for my courtesy lights to fit into . Do these only come for the gt?

^^^ I have an ST and both door and the trunk lights works. You need to trace the wiring. Looks like someone may have removed those for some unknown reason ( I have a hatchback)

well my car was originally a dealer owned car that someone just drove around from Toyota. My step dad bought it and kept it completely stalk, so I don't think anyone would have taken them out. I just don't have them haha ^_^.
