also, $125/month for just third party? thats crazy What company? I get hit with heaps of extra fees cause Teenager, Under 21, Coupe, Male etc... I'm with AAMI, Im also Under 21, Coupe, Male with accident history (thats how my old car got wrecked, my fault) and my full insurance basically costs the same amount as your third party I spent a full 2 days ringing every insurance company and all their offers were over $3000-$3500 per year until AAMI surprisingly gave me this offer they always fkkk you when you're young, my first car was a '79 Berlinetta Camaro and I paid more than $100 a month for just liability, and that was *cough 20 years ago. Once you hit 25 and don't have a lot of problems they drop it down quite aways. Also once you've had continuous coverage for a year or two don't wait for those guys to drop your rate but shop around yourself and I bet you'll find more companies willing to give you a better deal. When I was 21 I looked into getting a Suzuki GSXR (just a 600) , and the full coverage on it was twice as much as the payment on the bike each month! and My insurance company Doesn't consider the Celica a sports Car cause the motor isn't very big! when I bought it I called and had my policy transferred from my Grand Cherokee and she said "it's coming up as the same price as the Jeep... that's doesn't seem right but that's what it is." I've shopped around both times I had to renew, I can get a cheaper price, but they won't cover any of my modifications. And if that modification is deemed to have contributed to the crash (eg. I hypothetically install ST205 brakes and they fail causing a rear-ender; they will wipe my insurance and not payout) Just Car and NRMA are the only local groups I have found that will cover my mods NRMA is the Ferrari of Car Insurance here though and wanted to charge me quite a fair bit more, for less coverage. Also have to remember that this is both the Personal and Property Insurance At least I can be smart with my money and save it for these payments, unlike a lot of my friends hahaha This post has been edited by rentaspace: Feb 1, 2014 - 7:54 PM -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |

Autocross @ Orange County Convention Center. Fun stuff, I find that I'm consistently improving bit my bit, which is as it should be. Not to mention, it's just incredible fun. I'm surprised there's not a larger number of people participating in this community, the Celica has a great chassis for this stuff, nice and tight for quick transition. It just lacks in braking, torque, bhp. The suspension I won't complain about, I'm happy with mine.

Finally got the SynchroMesh in, so running 2:1 75-90W GL-4 and SynchroMesh. From what I can tell it's helped a good bit, but that was just going up and down the highway. Figured would give it a few hundred miles before trying to downshift and what have you.

Today I cleaned out my friends garage with him and parked the baby in it.
She will happily be missing this snow/slush/mix/**** coming our way over the next 24-36 hours. |

Yeah it's not quite that bad here but we're supposed to get 4-6 inches of mixed crap. Happy to have her in a garage finally. Can take care of the brakes and other stuff now. |

Yeah I've got the Santa Fe for that. It's funny as I was pulling into my friends driveway to get the celi into his garage I actually got stuck on the curb. They had plowed and there was about 3-4 inches of snow piled up which I cleared fine, but with the summer tires and not too much tread left I was stuck with my front wheels on the sidewalk and rears just at the incline of the driveway. Couldn't traverse a 6 inch incline.. haha.
It's at that moment that I wished GT-4 would "kick in". This post has been edited by cardshark525: Feb 4, 2014 - 1:14 PM |

Drove the car to get a condolences card, and stopped for petrol. Some punk ass kid pulls in with a 3000GT(not a VR-4 mind you) with a park bench spoiler on the back of it. "I'm calling the police, I finally found who stole the bench from the city park!"

after wisely parking the Celica yesterday and getting the Jeep out I figured I'd drive around today to see what it was like. and my AWD jeep goes right around all the ninnies in their FWD minivans getting stuck in every intersection.
everything was great until on the way home I was coming down a highway, originally at 45mph, then the road improved a bit and the people in front of me sped up to 55. but then when I got to the exit I wanted ,which was a big icy hill, and hit the brakes I began to rotate counter-clockwise, and then clockwise after about 4 corrections I regained control and shifted into the lower gear and slowly climbed up the rest of the hill. I have to say that the thousands of hours I spent learning to counter-steer and drift playing GranTurismo just saved my life, or at least my Jeep. GranTurismo is also where I first saw the 6th gen Celica. -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.

^^ there's nothing like experience. I'm glad you're ok.
I learned to drive in Europe, in the winter, in my dad's 1990 BMW, rear wheel drive manual, no power steering or abs, and summer tires. My father-in-law would always take his truck out to a big empty parking lot towards the end of the first big snow of the year to re-acclimate himself to handling a torquy RWD vehicle in the snow. Also a little experience for everyone else... never tell your kids who are using your car, that you're getting new tires soon.... All my 20 year old brain heard was "It's drift season". Took the celica out for a wash and such to get the salt off. Later i get followed by some punk in a subaru wagon wanting to race. When are these young kids going to realize street racing is ridiculous and just makes you look like a fool? I hope he learns how to shift properly, i felt bad for his transmission.
