Those won't get more power. Are you interested in more? It's known that mild cams and tune get results. 6G96GT was telling me about his experience with the colt cams. Very positive. The cams and tune are technically not okay for smog. However, I think the car would run clean and throw no codes. I don't expect you to be a guinea pig for my hypothesis. I'm looking for an engine now. If I end up with a 5sfe I'll try the cams. I can see you are not one to worry about horsepower, but if I get a 5sfe and tune it I can keep you informed about the resources I use in the bay area and valley. I've been thinking of throwing Webcams in my car actually. The only thing is how hard is it to install and uninstall for smogging? Like would I need to retune, replace shims, and cams just to pass smog? But keep me posted or shoot me your progression thread so I can keep updated about it. -------------------- |

Small update on my next project. Going to plan to buy xxr 535 universal bolt pattern. After that ima do a bolt/hub conversion using my xxrs still. Sell my last set of 5x100 rims. Then buy my next set of 5x114 rims. Most likely some advan rims.

Been reading up on them v6 swaps a lot lately and it's making me want to attempt one too. Started to go through Kurt95gt's and Smaay's swap threads and took some notes down. I'm debating if I want to attempt this yet. I'm don't have that much knowledge at engine work. The most complex thing I've done is swapped cv axles. Lol. I kept telling myself to wait until my clutch or my engine gives out first then start on the swap but we will see.

Yeah, if this is not your daily then go for it. Plan for downtime This is my daily but my parents have an extra car so I'ma use that car while I'm building my v6. I should be able to get it up and running no longer than 1-3 months. Lol. Smaay and Kurt95gt or any other v6 swappers. I've made a list with some questions. Hit me with other things I missed like parts or notes that I missed while reading your guys threads. 1mzfe v6 Into a St204 Swap Parts needed: 97+ 1mzfe engine -Rebuild? -Replace timing belt and water pump Engine harness needs rewiring(mr220v) Ecu(MT ecu needed or AT ecu is fine?) -Part number: 89661-06331 - Ground a pin to get MT Custom passenger side engine mount(Smaay) Custom y pipe(Smaay) Upper Rad hose - 71203(Kurt95gt) Lower Rad hose(Stock 1mzfe hose bolted onto a 90 degree hose? 3 chunks?) Not needed but nice upgrades: Light flywheel -New flywheel bolts [Smaay] -Pressure plate can be reused New clutch(Southbend) Short shifter Notes: AC Compressor -Change puller or mod the top section -welded -8 AN fittings MT and AT rear headers are different Needs to be CA SMOG Legal AKA BAR'd Questions: Ecu? AT 97+ camry ecu is fine but need to be mod to MT[Contact Smaay] -NO immobilizer! -97-98 ecu to avoid the EVAP system -won't emit any AT codes so it should be CEL free also smoggable? Fuel relay?[Kurt95gt] Catylitc converters? -1 cat after the y pipe RPM meter? Tach needed? -i4 stock tach can't read v6 signals? Charcoal canister? -needed for 97-98 1mzfe and 99-2002? Coolant overflow tank? -does it need relocation?(kurt95gt) Throttle cable? -Need ST throttle cables because GT are too long References: http://mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=144375 MR2 CA BAR'd http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=82573 Smaay http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=82235 Kurt95gt PG25 http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=91360 5sfe removal http://car-part.com/ Search for 1mzfe This post has been edited by ILoveMySilly97: Dec 24, 2013 - 3:17 PM -------------------- |

The 97+ Camry ecu should work fine with a pin grounded out an the a/f sensors swapped for o2 sensors. The 97 Camry didn't have an immobilizer so no worries there. The 97 celica evap should be able to adapt to the 1mz an pass. But you'll have to ask smaay about that. Pretty Sure 97 will only needs a cat after the y pipe.
I'm using the stock Fuel relay from the 5s. Its connected to the mount for the 5s ecu. You have 3 options for the tach. 1) do what smaay did an swap a v6 tach into the stock cluster. 2) aftermarket tach like I did. 3) get a tach adapter to make the i4 tach work with the v6. The stock overflow tank will work.just need a Longer hose to reach to the connection on the motor. You'll need the st cable the gt cable is too long. -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

The rear exhaust manifold for the my is adjusted to miss the motormount. The a/t manifold will work with some modding.
I'm working on a new idea for the lower rad hose. Just have to gets some time to try an figure it out. Smash might have a better hose then I do already. The lightweight flywheel will be a nice upgrade The flywheel bolt part number an website is in my thread or I'm sure smaay has it too. They are for the 2gr but work for the 1mz. Southbend makes great clutches. I love mine with The 1mz. Holds the power very well but doesn't feel much stiffer than my stock clutch. Can't wait to see you pull this off! -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

Ok. Updated my notes.
I'll need a 97 ecu to not worry about the immobilizer. I think I'll so smaays method for the tach. Since I don't want gauge pods. -------------------- |
