I've said this before but it always seems to amaze me. Lol. The key to my 1997 Toyota Celica GT can open and start my moms 1992 Toyota Camry Le. But my mom's key can't open my doors or start it. If I put the two keys side by side. They're really similar. Like twins. Anyone think they can explain what happened? Does Toyota use the same key design or what ever once in a long while? Yes I know it's not the Toyota Master Key but yea. You get the point.

Toyota had codes they used for keys, so keys are bound to be repeated. I'm sure the key from the Camry is worn down from use but if you had a new key cut, it would work in your Celica.

all the 90s toyota were like there. Most keys will fit in some. Some keys won't fit in others. lol. I think most corollas could be opened with any 90s toyota keys.

Well from the sound of it it sounds like the tumblers on the camry are worn down, i had a similar issue with my old 91 CRX and my friends 94 Accord, he could open and start my car but I couldn't with his and sure enough it was the tumblers

Yes they can. They just want you to provide an insurance cars or some other proof that you own the car. Costs like $3 if I remember correctly.

toyota will do it. but starting this year you need a repair order to get the keycode so they will charge you 20 bucks to look it up. have them write down the key code on your invoice so if you ever need it again you can avoid this charge in the future.

peace
