Very nice, Rusty!

Today I installed my Wolfie clear third brake lens. Looks much better.

I bought myself a 1/2" torque wrench today at Canadian Tire, usually $160-ish, on sale and paid $62 after tax.

Also, since it's spring season here in the Pacific North-West (rain rain rain and more rain until July.... XD), I cleaned my windows inside and out, and treated them with Rain-X. I realized how good this product is when I was driving home from my parent's last week in the rain and I didn't have to use my wipers on the highway. I was working on my parked car in front of my house and an Audi R8 drove by. The driver gave me a head-nod in approval. I still have to get used to this car culture of drivers appreciating other cars.

Today I talked to the insurance company and the earliest appointment I could get was March 13th. They're really busy right now lol, guess I'll have to live with my beat up bumper for a while still

Do you need a new bumper? I think I have spare lying around if you're interested.

Do it. You won't regret it. They really complement a lighter colored Celica like ours. Replace the clear bulb with a red bulb and you're good to go. The installation is very easy and takes literally just a few minutes.

How exactly do you replace the lens? Bake the housing?

It's held with tabs in a plastic retainer, which is bolted to the hatch. Three 12mm bolts are visible under the small pop-out panel near the rear & center. Deep socket recommended.

Ferdi nailed it. In Wolfie's thread in Exterior Styling, he has pictures of the complete housing. There's no glue whatsoever, just some tabs to pry out. You'll spend more time removing nuts and bolts than you will replacing the lens itself.

Half way through my oil leak problem. Car was dumping oil out of the oil pump body. Constantly dripping and going through about a quart a day. My buddy works at the Toyota dealership so he hooked me up with all of the seals under my timing cover. Then throw on a new timing belt and tensioner and add the lost oil and ready to go!

My current DD, was parked in a garage for the last three years or so before I purchased it, and this is leading to a few things.

Over the weekend I replaced the rotors and pads on the rear, as the slides had locked up, and need to be set free, and everything had worn terribly. Next I moved on to freeing up the front calipers, and put everything back together.

Then moved on to some fresh oil and a new filter. While I was going through my other 6G, I found bonus parts, like an air cleaner. Good thing too,. check out what I found when I opened the airbox. Apparently some critter had been living in the airbox while stored.

I ended up paying only around $365 altogether, much cheaper than JDM projectors would have been
