Well, back from a drive. Hopefully I'm the only one that wanders through the woods staring at the stars while drinking then proceeds to go on an hour long drive. That's ok though, my mind is clear for the moment anyway. I think that'll be the worst part though, a transitional period without escape. Catching a ride is one thing, taking it without them knowing at 4 in the morning is another. I really should seek therapy, but booze and petrol is cheaper.

Almost forgot:

Today I, agreed to buy another 6gc, I know it's a sickness, however, I'll be using this for parts for my other cars.

Also, I found a Carbon Fiber Hood, that I should be picking up this weekend. I don't know if I will use it, but the Red Dragon could use the clearance when I swap the motor and it is a stupid good deal.

You sir need help, and I'm more qualified than anyone to make that call.

Well, they're waiting to hear back from the bank. Which is weird to me since he had $2,800 cash that day, I guess he's trying to get a $500 loan or something.

I really wish I had the money to fix my 6th gen; I know the guy would give it back to me if I did. I really freaking miss it. I love my 5GC to death, but I have so many memories in my 6GC. Id be willing to give up my '93 for an alltrac, but Id spend the money to get the '95 back and convert into a GT4 then buy one.

That terribly neutered V8 burble. Those years are great for dropping in crate motors though. tongue.gif

Hmm, apparently banks must like to take time before giving out money. They should hurry before I change my mind again. I got to thinking on what all I'll have to do the next car I get to bring it to where the Celica is now and I'm just not really feeling it. Part of me wants to say screw it all and buy this:

Who needs a car when you can have a ginormous synthesizer more prone to breakdowns than I am? We'll get along great. God forbid I find one before a Supra though... I really wouldn't do something so irresponsible, perhaps... So yeah, anticipation... I think it's really happening this time. Which in a way I'm glad, but in a way I'm not. It's not like the Celica is a bad car or anything, it's just slow and red. Mainly red. My horrendous fear is not finding a car and/or ending up with a real piece of garbage. That's how Murphy works, I hate him. Buying a 22-28 year old car notorious for blowing its head-gasket, nothing can go wrong. Now am I just making reasons not to sell it? I really am the most indecisive person in the world. I tried to find a coffee mug that said something along those lines, then I remembered I'm more of a tea person anyway. Either way they should hurry about it, I'm not exactly ecstatic about selling the car. If anything I agreed to sell it to make a complete and total stranger happy, I don't know why I should care. I remember being that age, finding that first car. Not having mommy and daddy to buy something for me like the rest of the kids at school. Most of them ended up totaling their cars anyway, ingrates. He's been saving up for awhile from what I can tell, working shifts after school. Should've seen the truck his dad was driving, sounded like it was falling apart as it left the driveway... Nice people though... I saw myself, to finally have something go his way was in my hands. How could I crush what he'd been working towards? I don't see exactly what it is that makes him want it so much, but it's more than I want it I think. Well, I'll get a few more late night drives at least.

Honest truth? He probably wants it because its red, lol tongue.gif

Too late now though. You've made your decision (and its not exactly a spur of the moment thing tongue.gif) so just be happy smile.gif

If the regret kicks in later on, you can swap a 6GC GT which is what you wanted over the red 7a anyway tongue.gif

It just makes me wonder, I'll have to ask. It's not like he couldn't have just bought some other car.

I suppose so... Took me two days to give an answer I wasn't entirely sure about. I've started to look into MKIII Supra stuff again. Considering a NA if it's '89-92 and the right colour combination. Red or blue interior just isn't cool like it was back in the day. The NA is quick enough, low 7's to 60 and can reach stock Turbo times with a little effort. Don't have to worry about a worn out CT26 either, but I suppose we'll see. I do know I won't be getting another targa top...

Only if it has BEAMS or 1MZ and LSD. tongue.gif

I'm fairly certain of wanting another Supra, it's the one car I regret getting rid of the most. It was the total package. Fairly quick, very nice and comfortable interior, and handles well. Outside of the head-gasket issue they're fairly bulletproof cars. That and they just always looked really good to me, in a wedged 80's kind of way. I want the '89-92 model if at all possible, but I'll go older for a Turbo model and even deal with red or blue interior god forbid. One advantage of getting the NA is I can keep the exhaust I bought for the Celica to use with it. tongue.gif After looking at some of the 80's-90's domestics the only one I could live with would be a Corvette. Mustang and F-body interiors are too cheap and plasticy for me to live with, the Mustang needs help with handling something fierce, and you can't even work on a 4th gen F-body. So ruling out every other alternative such as the 300ZX, RX7, and 240SX that leaves the Supra. Well, there's the Miata and MR2 but they can't carry gear. So yep, have it all worked out as far as I know.

Plus, getting the Supra I can keep my official Toyota key-chain. tongue.gif

Mildly tempting.

So got back from another hour or so drive. Nothing like "Comfortably Numb" to set the mood. I imagine will hear from him early this afternoon wanting to arrange a time to buy the car this weekend. Then the hunt begins...wooo....fun....not.... I have to prepare a farewell speech and all that as well, this is really too much trouble. Then after finding a new car have to fix all the wrong things, and find the best forum for said car. Then I might even have to start going to meets, it's terrible. How I envy the people content with owning a Ford Aspire or some other giant piece of garbage. Like my cousin drives a pos KIA Sephia that was like a few hundred dollars, and is content. Then again my other cousin has an ES300 and is content, at least it's a nice FWD sedan though. I can't be content, I can always find something wrong somewhere with anything. Rampant OCD, yes. Asperger's, quite possibly.

Doubt I'd have the money you'd be asking for it, but it would be in good hands. That's for sure.

So once the celica is sold are you leaving us for good? Where am I going to find awesome responses to people questions and comments? laugh.gif You know once you sell your gonna end up buying another celica down the road, possibly a GT and start a v6 swap biggrin.gif

I'll stick around, just need to get the mods to make an "Other Car Projects" sub-forum. wink.gif

There's always the possibility of buying another Celica, but I don't think it'd be for performance. The Supra tick for tack will always outperform, outside of perhaps snow and ice which doesn't exist here. Maybe grab another in the future if I need a long distance commuter as the MPG of the Supra isn't spectacular. That or I get to the stage of dropping a 1UZ into the Supra I'll need a second car in which case I'd grab another ST perhaps. The '88 I had was titled as a Celica Supra, even though by then they were separate models. So technically... tongue.gif

Been thinking, and an '89-92 NA would suit me just fine provided it's not red and has gray or black interior. Already know how to drop 100 pounds without effecting the car at all, and 40 pounds of it is sprung weight. Then if I want to sacrifice some luxury I can drop another 50 or so pounds without terribly effecting the car's comfort. Redoing the exhaust is top priority as the factory exhaust is heavy and restrictive. Since I have to redo the head-gasket anyway I'll bump it up to 12:1 compression ratio, 12.5:1 is max on pump fuel so 12:1 leaves room for any re-shaves in the future. Pacesetter makes a full length header for it, so would probably do that as well especially if I raise compression. Looked at cams and they're ungodly expensive, for what they cost alone I'm not too far off from a 1UZ swap kit and finding a 1UZ is easy. So it'll be in the mid-low 6's to 60, which is more than enough since I'm not drag racing it. Certainly better than what I currently live with. Of course finding a Turbo will bring different, but for the most part the same mods. I'm actually starting to look forward to this I think. Either that or a '79-81 Trans Am pops up in halfway running condition and I'll be forced to buy it, I can't help it.
