Well, looks like I won't be selling the car after going through a tumultuous inner fight of rather or not to sell it. All for nothing too. Turns out he's been trying to get a loan to no avail to get the rest of the money for it... I was under the impression he had $2,800 in cash the day he asked if it was still for sale... I've had a few people stop and ask about it since then, but turned them away thinking he was just waiting for one last week's pay to have the money to buy it. It's what I get for being nice. Yup... know the feeling... I've been holding the Mustang for over two weeks now (have a $1k deposit), but now he has just said they can't find the rest of the money and he wants his deposit back. I had signed a contract with him that in my eyes says no refunds, but internet lawyers say that I need to give it back since I didn't have a clear and reasonable clause of damages and liabilities in there for each possible scenario, and I will still get sued.... I hate your f*cking legal system.... since when do buyers get to just sue for their deposit back when they pull out of a sale with a contract for personal reasons. You should've had it in the contract explicitly that the deposit would be non-refundable and to cover lost potential earnings. Anyhow, he said today he was still trying. Something about that he has $1,800 in cash and is getting his aunt to cosign for the loan on the rest of it. I'm not holding my breath at this point. He asked if I'd take $2,800 cash on that day, does that not imply that he has $2,800 already? If anyone else stops and asks it's free game now. I've already found a Supra and now I want one again, so much for being content. Thats why i sell everything on a whoever pays first basis even if its less than other offers. Whoever comes up with the money has all my attention i take no reserve/deposits etc. |

I had decided I wasn't going to sell the Celica and had actually started buying things for it, but he came up and asked if it was still for sell. So two days later I decided I would sell it, now it's to the point I just want to sell it again. Just adds to the preexisting turmoil.

Even though I put in blood, sweat, and tears to save up for my car during a high school summer, the title has been in my grandmother's name for almost 5 years. Today, I finally transferred the title over to me and I registered her in the state of New Mexico. Ugly Texas plates, begone!

Not entirely or remotely Celica related, but I started fashioning a cane from a fallen white oak limb today. Mainly because anything you can buy screams "OLD MAN" and I'm not quite there yet. Got the lichen and mold off it and brought it in to dry to complete later. To make it related it could be a clutch initiation device, or CID for short.

I have a staff that I made years ago for a wizard costume, kind of more obvious than a cane. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Today I installed front and rear strut braces I got from vincent_doggy. Much better. The stock one was really flimsy and bent when I pulled it off. I cant really imagine it was doing much at all in there..

I thought he had stopped making the rear brace? Or is it someone else I'm thinking of?

Jumped on 6gc for the first time in about a week? or so, been busy with study but thats all finished now. Just catching up on the recent podcasts.
Was driving in town yesterday when another red 96 celica (looked 100% factory apart from a grille & a SS-III (wasn't a SS-III) or trd badge) pulled out infront of me and was taking some corners/intersections pretty quick. I see the odd 6g around, but usually its a more careful driver, and I drive mine so was interesting to see how quick they are in corners -------------------- |

I would prefer to keep it that way as well, but I need to apply for NM residency so I can get in-state tuition at UNM. The money I'll save on tuition far outweighs the extra money I'll have to shell out for insurance. -------------------- taking too long to mod since '09
