So everything electrical in my car is falling apart, if it's under the hood and it's plastic it's disintegrating when I try to work on it. While taking the old alternator out, and removing the connector from the back of the alternator, the connector basically fell apart in my hand. I know I can buy one online, but I have got to get this car back on the road this weekend. Do any of the big stores like napa, autozone , pep boys, or even toyota sell the wire lead for this part? Otherwise, I'm gonna have to plug each wire to the alternator itself and hope it's good until I get the part in from ebay or something.

I doubt you'd find something like that at anywhere besides the Toyota dealer , and they would have to order it.
So your best bet is to dig through your local pick-n-pull salvage yard for something like that. if you've got a 2.2 its the same motor as a lot of Camry's. or if you've got an ST the motor is the same as what came in a lot of Corolla's -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.

Had the same happen to me and Toyota wanted me to buy the entire wire harness for like 1100. They guy I talked to may have been a moron but I went to the local yard and they didn't even charge me for it.

Yea, we don't have any pick-n-pull salvage yards in CT, they are outlawed lol. Guess I will be ordering one online and just making due until it gets here. Thanks for the advice tho guys, appreciate it!

That's F'd up right there. pick-n-pull is the best thing ever, except what I've heard is they like to put all the small salvage yards out of business by going to the auction and paying $1000 for every junker for sale, just so the little guys can't afford to buy. and then when You take a car to sell them they still only want to give ya $300 for it.
but you should still be able to call a regular salvage yard and get one. -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.

Got mine from a lexus dealership....and they had it in stock...just call up and ask. I was surprised that toyota parts dept didn't have any. The part number is stamped on the connector.

I was able to make it to a local junk yard before noon and they let me go in the yard and snip it off myself, $10 bucks, thank god! Now let's hope the install goes smoothly!

The bolt head that's facing the same way as the plug. I'm not messing with it any more, just going to take it to the shop an have them finish it. Just pisses me off that what should be a simple repair is going to cost me even more money. Nothing ever goes right. Always have better luck working in my motorcycle than the car. I was able to wire in the new plug though so that worked out.
