Supposedly he wants a more family friendly car now... Won't sell outright, will only trade... I've been waiting almost a month now, my patience is beginning to run thin. I'm more or less looking for any RWD car with a manual that can handle half way decently, it's not like I'm being terribly unfeasible. I think this is why people drive a Honda, they're freaking everywhere.

I hear you on that with the honda thing. Well when in doubt get another celica thats in decent enough shape, it sucks being car less.

The only reason I sold the Celica was to get something RWD. It's just proving to be a pain in the ass when it comes to finding something that isn't a 4.6 Mustang or a burnt out dorifto-mobile.

It's funny how cheap the Celica is around me though, I'm still not sure how I got what I did for mine. I suppose it was my charming personality.

If I were to go back to FWD I couldn't help but think about a second gen CRX. It's the only FWD Honda I like, outside of the third gen Integra and second gen Legend. Coincidentally they're also the ones that were still made in Japan, go figure. Anyhow I've already held out this long, so it'd kind of suck to give up now. Then again it also sucks not having a car during Summer break of all times...

I suppose inexpensive would be a more fitting description, just about all of them for sale are under $2,000 for rust free cars. Go South and predominantly Honda and truck market! tongue.gif

If I were to get another Celica it'd be temping to get a 5GC just for the popup lights. Then again if I'm going to concede I could just get a 1.6 Miata as well. Or just get a 4.6 Mustang and be happy in straight lines. Hell if I know anymore.

Or a MKI MR2, plenty of them for $2,000 or less. Just the squared interior bothers me severely for some reason.

I love the 5th gens, but unless you get a '93 don't think cause its a GT you get all the standard stuff like power doors/windows and disk brakes in the rear. Oh and the cup holder situation? Its just as ****ty. laugh.gif

But if that's the 5th gen your looking at then your good cause it is a '93 and its black biggrin.gif

I've always wanted to somehow combine the front end of the 5GC with rear end of the 6GC. I also like the CRX and have always wanted one for some unforeseen reason to me. Seems like mostly stock units are going for under $2,000 these days. I guess they're falling out of popularity or something?

If I'm going to give in I suppose it should be with a later MKI MR2, at least it's RWD. I'm just to that point of almost not caring anymore. It's like I'm 16 again and everyone has a car but me.

hey now, dont hate on the 1.6.
throw some AE101 ITB's and its alive and sounds like sex.
also replacement parts are dirt cheap and a 1.8 swap is very easy.

It's not really the 1.6 itself, it's the fact it's a pain to find one with the factory LSD. Just about every 1.8 has LSD from the factory, at least from '94-95 anyway. Besides the 1.6 costs more or less the same as the 1.8 in my area, certainly close enough that it doesn't make sense to buy a 1.6 and swap things over.

I just had to drive a '00 4x4 Durango 25 miles further than I'd ever like to. Also I don't see how people don't see a Miata and other smalls cars behind them while in SUV's and trucks. There was one behind me and I saw it perfectly fine. I guess others don't properly aim their mirrors.

I loved how mine was sunken in. tongue.gif Really there needs to be a fine balance, I don't like when it's completely flush as it makes me think of a toy car. I like about half an inch to an inch from the fender to the wheel. I also like having a decent amount of sidewall, I guess I'm just an old man. tongue.gif

lol i hate that sunken in look but i dont like it completely flush either and personally i dont think negative camber looks right on any car (bent wheels wtf right lol) i do however love my cars to be low and wide. unfortunately i cant fit 12j alloys without alot of work lol you think 16's would be too small on the car? et25 should still add a tiny bit of poke to it. lowering springs are defiitely 35mm so should sit about a cm above the rim

I'm not sure if it's my 36+ hours without sleep, but that looks suspiciously like a water bottle to me.

Be patient, dont try to do it in a rush, after 15 years its going to be hard, so try not to bend those lines and use the flared wrenches
