DO IT. Though really it's the seat-belt that's responsible for your safety more so than the airbag. Still they're nice to have.

Contacted rimstyle today for some drc dr-b alloys. 16x8j 5x100 et25. They told me it won't fit my car because probably won't clear the brakes so my question is... Wtf? O.o My rims are 17x7 +45 which is a terrible offset, and that clears the brakes just fine. Sure, you may rub if you run that offset depending on how the rest of the car is set up, but it will be a mile from the brakes Just looked up the alloy style... if it is what I think it is I'm not too sure how well it will suit, but that's just me. I also see how you may have clearance issues on some cars with such a big dish and flat centre section. Today I got my hands dirty and removed the harness from my 5S-FE motor. I also removed the harness from my 1MZ-FE motor to send them both to Smaay to be combined. I did take several pics in case I decide to make a how to or project thread for others who are thinking about doing the V6 swap. This harness removal would be beneficial to anyone who is planning any swap. I won't clutter this post with a how to, but here are a couple of pics for you guys:
Here is a pic right after I removed the hood. you don't have to, but it makes your life easier. Here is a pic of the motor once the wiring harness was removed. It is a real pain with the engine in the car, and takes some degree of magic to remove the two plugs on the underside of the motor behind the intake manifold and the grounding bundle off the intake runner. Here is the harness removed from the car. Here is a pic of the 1MZ FE soon to be completely resealed with new gaskets, oil pump, water pump, timing belt etc. Here is the harness removed from the motor. I also took several pics of this process in case I ever wanted to make a how to or project thread. |

So, apparently my wiring is OCD. All I did was solder each wire, wrap each solder joint, and then bundled the wires into groups.

I ran out, and anywhere that had it wasn't open at midnight. If I had been thinking I would've disconnected the wiring from the black plug, and connected the wiring from the white plugs directly to it.
I need to find one of those heat shrink kits that has every colour of the rainbow in it, then I can get really OCD about it. This post has been edited by Box: Jul 20, 2014 - 1:24 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Today I had a nice chat with two guys who chased me down in a mint '93 Rx-7. I love running into actual, true car guys.
First question from the driver: "Is that a GT-4?" Chatted at the light for a bit and then went our separate ways once we hit town. Great 100 mile drive today, and that topped it off. |

Today i finally installed my pioneer speakers, tweeters and head unit. Photos to come soon when i install the 2 8" subs and amp. Replaced the door blades for the window on the inside, rotated the tires and found my passenger side axle boot is ripped but the axle is fine for now. It's nice that i have 2 spare brand new axles sitting on the shelf.
Last but not least my package finally left isc nyc usps. Warning to those who use usps, apparently alot of packages get stuck in isc nyc usps quite often. Mine did for almost 3 full weeks and by now i should have had the item in hand. |
